When I was a Cadet, I would go down to the Highway of Heroes in my Combats every night when I went for jogs just to salute the road. and when a Soldier came home, I went against a Police Officers suggestions to "Stay OFF the Highway" and went to the very edge of it just to salute. Now I'm a proud Reservist of the Canadian Infantry Reserves, and I still go down every night to salute the Highway, in memory of our Nation's fallen. Thank you Soldiers of Canada in her Provinces and Territories.

when i came home from overseas and went to a gas station the clerk looked at me and said that he didnt want me in there due to the fact that i was a woman and child killer.. i just looked at him and said if it wasnt for people like me he wouldnt even be in a country like this and have the freedom he and his family has. i left my things at the counter and left, along with the 8 other people in the store. few weeks later he shut down due to loss of business. Had a heated debate with a group of newer immigrants who were interested in getting into Canadian politics recently. It seemed unanimous they wanted Canada to abandon this "Peace Keeping" fantacy! I simply replied "What one soldier would the people from your country or any other country in this world feel relieved to see stand there with a hand reached out to help one back to their feet?" They all sat there quietly for a moment.The debate was over.

in korea one brigade of aussies and cnadians fought off an entire devision of chinese the australians took down 70% of the chinese before having to withdraw since they ran out of ammo before they ran out of chinese they said so they were fighting with bayonets even though a lot of the chinese were fighting with there fists so they pulled back and called in the canadians to finish the job. we had won but the north koreans thought the chinese had wiped us out.
@AlienFirefox actually the same night the chinese overwhelmed the canadian position and the canadians called for the aussies to send artillery into the middle of their own position. the aussies retreated and the canucks he;d for 3 more days before they were relieved. hail to the princess pats and the ric a dam doo.
the yanks dont just do it to the canucks mate they do it to aussies aswell. i was under the impression it was just jealousy. thanks mate but most yanks have no clue about canadian or australia military history and yet they still seem to think they do.

Thank you for posting this. I cringe each time I learn that friends are being deployed to Afghanistan, but the reality is by putting themselves in harms way (to help) they are there doing their duty.
My oldest son is the 4th generation of our family to serve in the Canadian Forces. Meaning my grandfather served in WWI, my father and his brother served in WWII, my brother and I served during the Cold War, and now my son serves. Though we have not lost any family members, we have certainly lost brothers and sisters in arms. God bless all those who serve.

in korea one brigade of aussies and cnadians fought off an entire devision of chinese the australians took down 70% of the chinese before having to withdraw since they ran out of ammo before they ran out of chinese they said so they were fighting with bayonets even though a lot of the chinese were fighting with there fists so they pulled back and called in the canadians to finish the job. we had won but the north koreans thought the chinese had wiped us out.

according to aussie vets from the korean war the canadians were top soldiers after fighting together against the chinese at kapyong but we have never fought alongside each other since. instead we get stuck with the fuckin yanks

I dont support that they kill people, but they give their lives to keep you and me safe here at home. if they didn't do this there wouldnt be Canada the true north strong and free, or USA the home of the brave. My oldest son is the 4th generation of our family to serve in the Canadian Forces. Meaning my grandfather served in WWI, my father and his brother served in WWII, my brother and I served during the Cold War, and now my son serves. Though we have not lost any family members, we have certainly lost brothers and sisters in arms. God bless all those who serve.
