I think a fully grown African elephant would destroy an Allosaurus. This is not a brainless Sauropod or something, an elephant would probably put up a hard fight and it just wouldn't be worth it for the Allosaur.

I think in real life, a carnivorous dinosaur, like Gwangi, wouldn't attack the elephant just yet. Since it probably never saw an animal like it, it would probably go a distance and observe the elephant for few minutes. If he would quickly nip at it and see if it tasted good. If he likes it, he'll probably kill it, if not, I don't really know. Since scientists found out that T-rex's brain was similar to a crocodile's, it wasn't so smart, so he would have attacked the elephant.

If a meat eating dinosaur was hungry, and killing for food, which would typically be the only reason to kill aside from territorial pissings, I am not quite too sure that it would abandon a nice tasty full meal elephant to pursue a bunch of measly humans.

@megalon73 YMIR could not be killed by bullets or fire. Gwangi had a hard time getting in the church when a small group of people where holding the door shut on him and also he was tied up by cowboys riding horses.YMIR had longer arms and was far stronger and he could break chains and also he broke out of a metal cage and busted thru walls something Gwangi couldnt do.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, though. He was probably told that everything was going to be big except his budget.

gwangi is an allosaurus, which in fact is a smaller animal than an elephant but almost as long and very much more lightly built than t-rex. allosaurus be agile as expected.

If the elephant is going to wear spiked collar to protect itself, the spikes should be dull pointed to not hurt it's ears while fighting it's opponent.

An African elephant is bigger than an Asian elephant and it may be a better opponent. Also, the African has bigger ears which is an advantage and disadvantage. Advantage because it covers more of the elephant's neck and the disadvantage because it's opponent may grab one of it's bigger ears and the elephant will have to make it's opponent let go with it's trunk. Also, it's opponent may grab one of it's ears to make way for a neck bite.

The elephant might of won if it had war-elephant armor with a spiked collar or it just needed some fighting partners like a white rhino (the largest two-horned rhino) or an Indian rhino (the largest one-horned rhino, but it is bigger than the white rhino) and a hippo. CLASH OF THE TITANS!
