  • Peace to everyone today.

  • @2:49...america under attack...by america that is

  • George Bush Jr and Sr spotted disliking this video

  • @bobsmedoggy I am talking about an Resource Based Economy--where the earth's resources are shared by all people--and money becomes a thing of the past--there is a plan and it is known by about 50 million people worldwide check out the following sites: thezeitgeistmovementdotcom and thevenusprojectdotcom and watch Zeitgeist: Moving Forward at zeitgeistmoviesdotcom, and tell me what you think--I think it is the most intelligent idea man ever came up with.

  • @bobsmedoggy

not if we start with our love for each other and use our minds and pool our resources and wash away the old cities and build a shining new civilization. We have no idea what is is to be born again-we can't in the desolate place we reside. Rise above it all and-join the movement. Zeitgeistmovingforwarddotcom. zeitgeistmovementdotcom. We will not rest until war and poverty ends and the spirit of the age of reason and enlightenment begins.

  • 2 people DISLIKE "war" :(

  • perchè Dio non si riposava il anche il 6° giorno, anzichè creare l'uomo????

  • This was a good video. I see that Bono cares for other countries and not just his own. We need more people like Bono. :)

  • This world without America will be much better place! Long live U2

  • @blueflagcfcyt the world with out guns and war will be a better place .

  • @blueflagcfcyt What did Americans do to your country to make you say that?

  • @blueflagcfcyt hey man u know how stupid you are?

  • @CJLomega Where are you from?

  • @CJLomega America was bombing my country with no reason, 3 months! Big America vs little Serbia... U know how stupid u are?

  • @blueflagcfcyt ja san iz hrvatske i znan za to

  • wow.

  • This song has alway been special to me...

  • Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao were all atheists. I don't think anything any religious person has ever done compares to what has happened due to these guys.

But I agree that it's too bad that so many people call themselves Christian but don't follow the dictates of their founder. Gandhi said something along the lines that Christianity is a great religion, just too bad nobody practices it.

  • @custardflan I agree with you. Gandhi actually said "I like your Christ, but I don't like your Christians, your Christians are so different from your Christ". As already stated, this song was written and "inspired by" the event when the Irish Republican Army exploded a bomb in Omagh killing 29 people, Catholic, Protestant,a preganant mother expecting twins,a group of Spanish tourists and shoppers buying their daily milk."Ironically" it sped up the peace process.Tragically pointless

  • @custardflan Jesus did

  • When will humanity understand there is no god, what we have is only each other.

  • wow ur dumb

  • ur dumb

  • @siriusartist ur dummb

  • HI I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU.

  • @siriusartist when will they understand there is GOD and live in peace

  • i believe it is a lack of religion that has caused wars, wars which are primarily waged by banks/nations to profit froms arms selling and population reduction. Realise that when a country starts to wake up and discover the dire gov failings, a war is started to distract the population adn give the gov an excuse to take away their liberties and offer protection. exactly how iraq war started, 9/11 was an inside job. God knows the truth, the deceit in our world is like the matrix, it blinds us.

  • Hear it every Christmas time

But hope and history won't rhyme

    So what's it worth,

    This peace on earth

  • Remember the words of the great teacher:

Build your treasures where no thief can break and steal.

  • As long as Avarice and Pride are valued over Human Life, war will never end.

They say that what you mock

    Will surely overtake you

    And you become a monster

So the monster will not break you.

  • We NEED Peace!!! Stop the hatred!!!

  • Peace on earth...

  • U2 wrote "Miami"

  • beautiful

  • Jesus and the song he wrote, the words are sticking in my throat... perfect words

  • Wars happen because some people have have way too much power....if I had that power, God knows what I might have done...improve the system, stope the blame game...that's my aim in life....

  • ....how long will we sing about hopeful peace...how about start living it...just a crazy thought...malice creates malice...hatred breads hatred...thankfully i'm just...anyways....take care

  • "there's gonna be war , whether you like it or not " sad but true !

  • Peace Is A Path That Is Taken By Being Open With Eachother

  • Amen vogus

  • my favorite U2 song

  • In order to have peace there has to be no religion. Just "IMAGINE NO RELIGION" -John Lennon

  • blahhh

  • people take advantage of religion and use it to further their agenda. so yes, your statement is accurate in that sense. on the other hand, without God there would be no life, no forgiveness, no basis for peace. man struggles for power, riches, honor, status. God seeks to free man from his sin.

  • Indeed, but "without god there would be no life" i think there is more than enough evidence about the origin of earth and 'god is not involved' with or without religion there are going to be bad people, but look at the struggles/wars/ conflicts between nations/races/people today and in our history, it involves the problem with religion.

  • history will not rhyme

    the hippies are crying

tell our masters to stop making this mess,

    these great pirates

    desperate despot';';';';';';'''';';777

  • whats the first one

  • Gandhi

  • Peace is a path, not a destination.

  • Peace on earth!!

  • Heaven on earth, we need it now. I'm sick of all of this hanging around.

  • favouritwe U2 song. brings a tear to my eye every time. post if you agree

  • Life is a daily battle to balance power for a peace that is at war with itself in the context of spiritual development. We have world peace. It is not the ideal on paper, but at least it permits comprehension of suffering.

  • El día de las torres estaba en la casa de mi abuela, y fue durísimo.

  • face it there will never be world peace

  • There will be peace, When Christ returns : ) it will be a good day!

  • 3:18, that very image will stay with me to the grave...

  • PEACE ON EARTH !!! :) forever!!!

  • ♥

  • PEACE ON EARTH !!! :)

  • Normandy! If it was not fr those boys we would be speaking German folks!

  • no we would be speaking russian

  • Cool

  • 9/11 was 'spectacular' thats why it receives so much attention. That and the fact that it happened in America.

  • u2 is a representative for all people who cares about the world peace..i think dat if u try to tell countries about how much u care abt the world peace, its better through dis type of music..which is very serene, sounds like peace..unlike metal..how could ppl be convince abt peace if th music iself is not sounding like peace..cheers to all mankind who loves peace..

  • Thank you!

  • first i heard the title "peace on earth" i said: "oh no, not another cheesy song about it"... then i heard it and started crying...

we're screwing things up so badly... and we're supposed to be "intelligent beings" *sarcastic_grin*

  • free gaza

    Peace on Earth everywhere

  • Why do we have wars all the time? Because somebody is getting something out of it, and it's not the people or the soldiers.

We are used as cannon fodder for all the wars.

  • Why dont you guys think about Kashmir? i will bet half of you dont even know were the fuck that is. 9/11 was a horrible incident, and fuck osama and saddam, but 20x more people died in kashmire in 2005, and it got a weeks news coverage. there are still people dying of cold and starvation there. Maybe its not just peace we need, but all round understanding of current world affairs

  • no disrespect to 911 but people die everyday to keep the west rich in oil and in every other way. my midnight rant is look at ur life..could you do more for folks who have nothing..great song!

  • oh my...... that was so sad i almost started crying!!! 911 was a harsh and memorible day! i am doing a project on "we didnt start the fire" and i had to find a song that related to the earth. weep weep!!!!!

  • Yep.The song was totally inspired by Northern Irelands worst ever loss of life in one single act, that shocked all communities.

We've moved on a lot since then, and believe it or not,a rock band can play its part.

Some of the images on here are graphic though and a reminder of a bigger picture.

  • what is the title of the first movie?

  • That clip is from the movie Gandhi. Next is saving Private Ryan. Next is The Mission. When I made the video, I only had three videos sitting on the shelf that had the right kind of scenes, which is why some scenes are a bit too long. Nonetheless, I think it captures the point of the song.

  • Any ideas? A way? Peace on,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  • You have done a very good job and have captured the spirit of the song quite well. Thanks for posting this on Youtube.

  • jesus will u take the time 2 throw a drowning man a line- pe@ce on earth, so sad!!!! i love the song though!

  • antes de mudar o mundo, temos que mudar a nós mesmos...

  • I want to make this a favorite, but it is very hard for me to do it.

  • This song was inspired by the bomb in Omagh 1998 perpetrated by the REAL IRA. The line "They're reading names out over the radio. All the folks the rest of us won't get to know. Sean & Julia, Gareth, Ann, & Breda." Five of the victims. Another line, "She never got to say goodbye, To see the colour in his eyes, now he's in the dirt", James Barker, a victim, was remembered by his mother Donna Barker. Good video that applies to events today but originally it was for the Irish conflict.

  • Peace on earth...but when the world will be in peace???Never???

  • Not until the end.

  • Where the human beeing is will be war ...

cause we aren´t actually able to forget our appeal to the baser human instincts ...and that is bad no one really tries to talk it out ...just go to the weapons

    I don´t like the Bush policy !

  • I hope you are wrong someday, 141414abc.

  • war is not right why it keeps going on no one will ever know so for now it is one mystery of like that we may never understand. let there one day be peace among us all.

  • we need somes wars.... is on nature of human.

  • i think the song is musicaly still too happy... to get in touch with those pictures.

    good thought anyway

  • "Hear it every Christmas time

But hope and history won't rhyme,

    So what's it worth!

    This peace on Earth?????

    Peace on Earth!

    Peace on Earth!

    Peace on Earth!..."

  • I believe in peace! let's works for this!!!!!!!!!!!! Peace on earth!!!

  • There can only be peace, with no thought. With no thought comes no species, with no species, there is no life. There can never be peace.

  • peace must survive we must work together or else evil will rain upon our eyes

  • never gonna be peace on earth.. i hope someday there will be peace on earth..

  • To much war and death D:
