  • Very nice park. Love the outfield confirgurations and the stands in those areas.

  • Nice stadium. I live out of the country now so I didn't get to a home game until this past August when my daughter brought me there for my birthday. I enjoyed the whole thing. Nice park, too bad they didn't win the game.

  • This is such an overrated place. Is it nice and neat and new... Of Course. But your stadium should be built for your Team NOT your fans. You paid Joe Mauer $180+ MILLION and this stadium makes him worth about a fraction of that. Well, that plus his CONSTANT INJURIES. I call Mauer & Morneau "The DL Boys"

  • how boring of a stadium

  • It's a shame they removed the trees from center field. "It really tied the room together man."

  • Walleye on a stick

  • screwing the tax payers, I want the city to pay for my place of business

  • So with the overlook section, Minnesota has joined the Mets and Texas in referencing Tiger Stadium's right field overhang.

But the Tigers themselves couldn't bother to put in a similar feature because they needed to have a generic symmetrical replacement for a classic.

  • I ave been to yankee stadium (new) and target field, Both are really nice stadiums, yankee stadium is a bit nicer just because they have a ton of money. Target field is still a great stadium, very nice and didnt go over the budget. Good luck to the new field!

  • Need to see Twins game next time I take trip out there.

  • Atlanta's dominance? Really? Yeah, you won some League Championships, but as I recall, it was the Yankees that handed the Braves their asses. The Braves suck, point blank. They should move them back to Boston.

  • RATED #1 Stadium/Arena by ESPN....so Suck it outa town haters!

  • Minnesota=Shithole

  • @MusicBombGames2k11 ahaha you're way off bro

  • @MNsportsguru Naw, The less pro teams California and dallas has the better. I'm a packers fan And I pretty much HATE every team from those 2 states. I live in Indiana now and It's kind of stupid that california has like 3-5 teams in each league and all Indy has is 2. or the fact that milwaukee doesn't have an NHL team and California (a place where it doesn't snow) has like 6. so the less teams cali and texas has the better.

Heil Hitler!

  • such a nice fucking stadium and city, and this is coming from a hard core red sox fan

  • @huskerjoesox Vielen dank! Ich mag Boston und Fenway auch schon!

  • @WEGSxIRISH Ja, es ist eine nette Stadt ging ich dort in diesem Sommer

  • Just a thought. I might be wrong. I know the seating is small and I don't think the twins want to share. But why don't the vikings play here too? or at least temporarily until there new stadium is built. I'm a packers fan. But I really don't want to see the vikings, and this historic rivalry go to los angleles.

  • @packerbacker16 nah, i think the field dimensons keep them from being able to play there. thats why they wil probably use tcf bank stadium if a deal is reached.

  • All these braves fans need to move on.... we won the 91 world series fair an square..... why dont all you braves fans go kill a black man or what ever the fuck your southern trash do for fun

  • @Mortskcab as long as you're talking about georgia and not Bama i'm good you see i like alabama crimson tide, minnesota vikings, minnesota twins and i'm from alabama

  • @Mortskcab Southerners don't go around killing blacks. The Atlanta Braves could not see the ball hit up into that white ceiling at the other park and the decible level was ear shattering.A lotof American League teams went away cussing out that stadium. If you took your eye off the ball, you could not pick it up again and you could not hear anybody calling for the baseball. The fact that all four Twins wins were at home and their three losses were on the road says a lot.Same thing in1987vs.Cardinals.

  • Heyyyyyy! How bout bringin that fence in a little more! J Morneau

We agree! D Jeter, M Teixeira, D Ortiz, K Morales, JHamilton and PKonerko

  • I would like to have gotten more footage of the boxes on the right-field line, but in 6:17, the recorder managed to be repetitive unnecessarily with a lot of things and continually phase that aspect out. Over and over! Almost unbelievable.

  • im going tonight/ there playing the white sox. and im in a box.

  • Radiant heaters? LOL have they invented one that works yet? Mind you I left MN over 25 years ago...LOL

  • THIS IS A BEAST BASEBALL STADIUM!!!!!!! lol i went to the twins-braves game, where troy glaus hit 2 homers and delmon young hit one out. Unfortunately, the twinkies lost 3-7 I believe.....Oh yeah, my seat was row 4 in the left-field bleachers

im also going to the twins-royals game on labor day! Can't wait!!! xD

  • @morristhemoron The Twins' losing to the Braves is always a good thing. It has been proven that the Twins cheated in the 1991 World Series, as an employee was blowing a vent out when the Twins batted and turning it off when the Braves batted. No telling what else those prejudiced-against-the-South liars and pieces of trash pulled. Atlanta was the better team in 1991 and has been ever since. No other team in history can match Atlanta's record of dominance 1991-present.

  • @Craig28FL 1 World Series?

  • @Craig28FL how are the braves the best team in that time span with one world series victory?

  • @Craig28FL Go hang another black man or what ever you southern trash do for Fun because THE TWINS KICKED THE BRAVES ASS!

  • @Craig28FL your typical southerner.... a high scholl drop out, missing teeth, and a member of the KKK, and someone who cant get over a fucking baseball game from 20 years ago.....

  • @Craig28FL In those seven games in 1991the Braves had a higher team batting avg.hit more home runs and had a lower team ERA.What did the Twins do after 1991?The Braves kept winning division titles(14 consecutive)which is a much better way of determining greatness, but always got screwed in all that post season crap that doesn't even resemble baseball.I can't stand to watch it anymore..Baseball in November?Football in February?Basketball and Hockey inJune almost going to the 4thof July?Screwsports

  • @GGE47 And what about that bigass 1st baseman picking up Ron Gant after rounding 1st.and getting back.I be damned if the umpire didn't call him out.Death threats wiped that Chesire cat grin off his face in between seasons.

  • @GGE47 stats are for losers

  • @halodystroyer44 so are cheaters.

  • @morristhemoron on my first game going to target field i dont remeber who the twins played but they won like 13-0

  • I was just there yesterday at the Twins vs. Mariners game. The Target Field is way better than the Metrodome.

  • @evilmidget95 Yeah but our guys can't hit the long ball in TF for the life of themselves. The Homer Dome was more homer friendly and we always had the advantage in that dump. Of course the new field is awesome but just sayin'...

  • AMAZING LOCATION i was here when the Yankees lost 8-2 :-(

but i was amazed at how a great location the stadium is located, literally on top of I-394 and close to I-94 and I-35W all important freeways in the area, and the it has a light rail that goes from the airport, through downtown, and ends at the stadium, a commuter rail is also here that goes somewhere NW of the cities, another light rail from downtown st paul will go to target field, theres great parking and its in a great neighborhood

  • @dewey11411 me and my dad were in the homeplate area. we got them for him for his birthday. we did not know they would be so expensive.

  • @dewey11411 cool where were you sitting

  • i went here like 3 weeks ago to see the twins and the detroit tigers. i saw the game when bonderman hurt his arm. this field is nice as hell

  • As a sox fan great stadium

  • This looks like an awesome stadium and Im going in 4 days does anyone know what to do outside of the stadium

  • I've been to the new stadium and it looks so cool

  • @vikingluv plus the seats r not far apart i would no i've been there... its not boring either.. there is less energy used in it compared to the dome.. its an amazing ballpark

  • @vikingluv7 its a pitchers park u can't expect the twins to hit homeruns all the time especially mauer he just had a different rehab assignement and it is not boring baseball

  • They built the playing field too big! Nobody can hit a homer in that big cow pasture! Moron designers. The seats are too far away. Designer Idiots, Maher will have 10 homers this year. Get ready for boring baseball.

  • Thank you WCCO for making this great video on the " New Met "....(aka..Target Field). This is a very impressive and beautiful stadium. Being there in person to see it is even better.

  • I'm going on Thursday, gonna be AWESOME. Twins FTW.

  • Minnesota is the best, you can't deny.

  • i went there for my birthday may 4th in gate 29 im from minnesota go twins

  • why did they name it Target Field?

  • because your mom fucked you last night

  • @CapitalsFans8 Because Target pays to have their name on the stadium.

  • @CapitalsFans8 the store chain target bought the rights

  • yea my dad's company made the golden glove

  • why are the flags at half staff?

  • @futafanyow The mining accident in West Virginia

  • i have only been to the oakland alemeida county collosium and that is way better than it

  • I got tickets to the legends club

  • I was there for opening day and all I can say is amazing. I look forward to heading back as many times as possible.

  • Congratulations Twins and fans on a MUCH improved stadium to hold games in (understatement). So glad I don't have to watch any away games that were held at the Metrodome- the most HIDEOUS feat of architecture ever constructed by the human race for what it's purpose was. Now you just have to deal with a hideous name for your new stadium.

  • @dmvdet I guess you never saw a game in the old Kingdome in Seattle. That was like watching a sports event in a giant basement.

  • @budgrant69 Don't remember that one but the Silverdome was pretty hideous too. And, that's how I used to describe too that it looked like a basement lol

  • Go Twins!

  • Ballpark looks fabulous, I am A Tigers fan from the "D", I have been to all the Central Division rival parks, Minnesota is on tap for me this year, this video is getting me amped up to get there, great job Minnesota, on the ballpark, signing Mauer, hopefully we will have another great year in the Central

  • I cant wait to sit outside on a summer night drinking a summit and watching the twins!!!

  • @wildfan1234 I'm with you. WIN TWINS!!!

  • so excited to get home and watch the twins play outside. Definitely gonna try and get tickets for the budweiser roof deck, looks fun as hell!

  • they better add some more stuff b/c this park looks dull

  • @gtcbm lol but its better than the metrodome

  • @tman383 im not from minnesota but i have been to a twins game at the metrodome...so ill completely agree with you :D

  • @gtcbm Dull? What do you want? Strippers sliding down the foul poles?

  • @gtcbm Dull? What do you want, strippers sliding down the foul poles?

  • @budgrant69 yeah thats exactly what i want!!!!! man, r u a mind reader!!! cause u were spot on...jajaja troll

  • God id love to see Pink Floyd here someday ! !

  • God id love to see Pink Floyd here someday ! !

  • idc wat any 1 says yankee stadium is still better than target field or citi field and it atleast has history to it

  • in my opinion, yankee stadium is nice but it doesn't seem to have as much significance other than that its new, the structure of target field has added a lot of state and team history behind it, plus the significance is that its the first time the twins have played outdoors in almost 30 years

  • @boratfanatic Wrong, the Yankees left their history behind in the old stadium across the street. Always in pursuit of the almighty dollar the Jew York Yankees had to have a new stadium. You wouldn't see the Red Sox or Cubs do that. Those teams respect their history.

  • @budgrant69 What History?

  • @avengemm9dog Baseball history is more than winning championships, greaseball.

  • another typical dumb statement from a jealous yankee hater

  • @pmacc5 You're half right Guido. I hate the Yankees but I'm not jealous of them. I know, they have 27 championships. They are everything that's wrong with baseball. They play checkbook baseball. Anyone they want they buy. Except for Joe Mauer, he wants to play for his home team for less money than the Yankee$ would have paid. I guess you're stuck with Whore-hey.

  • @budgrant69 you cant forget A-Roid

  • @boratfanatic No it doesn't numbnuts. The Yankee$ left their history across the street at their old ball park.

  • That looks like a heck of a way up in that last shot. Im not much of a baseball fan but it is an amazing looking stadium and hopefully when they get rid of that joke of a basketball team they can put up even more parking

  • That looks like a heck of a way up in that last shot. Im not much of a baseball fan but it is an amazing looking stadium and hopefully when they get rid of that joke of a basketball team they can put up even more parking

  • Went to game on April 3rd stadium looks great but I need to lose weight because those seats are not big enough for most minneasotians especially with the all the food choices available. Go twins

  • were gonna wish we still played in the dome when its -10 our and is pouring down rain.

  • @bbdog141414 yooo

  • Comment removed

  • @bbdog141414 nah nothing better than outdoor baseball. indoor baseball is one of the most pathetic things baseball has seen since the new york yankees.

  • @bbdog141414

Yeah, because I'm sure it would be raining when it's -10 degrees. Besides, any real Minnesotan should be just fine no matter what the conditions are.

  • @bbdog141414 puss

  • i cant wait to go the game in 2 weeks from tomorrow im gonna be on tv too cause im gonna be so close to the field

  • I got tix to opening day with my dad... Should be a great time!

  • dam a walleye on a stick sounds good

  • @mattm172 They were damn good

  • that is such a nice stadium. the twins really did a good job with it

  • @bassmasta97 It is a cheap stadium

  • @TheCerta12 yea right

  • the gates could get confusing for road team fans but hey if i was the home fan id laugh at that. also that right field concrete deck thats in play is gonna be causing right fielders fits. but overall it looks like a good park. i hope to see some good indians twins games in there this year and in the future.

  • How its so nice Stadium. I am living in Atlanta right now but I will always be Twins fans. I grow up in North Dakota. GO TWINS

  • YAAAAAAAAAA! How old are ya?? Remember the 91 series??? Touch em all Kirby Puckett!!!

  • as a Redsox fan i can officially say i'm JEALOUS... Minnesota has one hell of a beautiful new field to play in... far better looking then the Triple H Dome

  • Haha, what's up with the Iowa Hawkeye on his helmet at 5:29?

  • wow come playoff time in sept/oct i bet yll freeze yll s asses off if they make it that far this yr loosing joe nathan didn t help any.......................

  • @747cy whatever dude at least we got JJ hardy and Orlando Hudson and we just signed Joe Maure So i got 2 words for ya...

    GO TWINS!!!

  • @TOOMANYFOOTBALLS wtever dude if u would read before talkin sht all i was saying IS joe nathan is a big loss it s hard 2 replace a guy like that last time i checked jj hardy an hudson dnt close games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the overlook at 4:24 is a horrible idea but other than that it looks like really nice. I just don't like when objects could possibly interfere with fly balls....

  • omg I was thinking the exact same thing. Talk about home field advantage!

  • I got tickets to 6 games this year!!

  • Looks bigger than ~41.000.

    Beautiful.

  • Oh my gosh!! That is beatiful, much better than TCF Bank Stadium. Thank you construction workers for your hard work and detication and thank god i live in Blaine,MN (30 min. away from minneapolis). That is so awesome and plus we got JJ. Hardy and other talented ball players lets just hope they do their work and bring us to our first World Series since 1991,that would be cool. please make a shout out on 830 WCCO to Al and Blake in Blaine thank you and nice job on the radio and GO TWINS!!

  • @MrBlainebengals22 more importantly Hopefully the Twins get Nathan back before the start of the season

  • Don't it get real cold in September?

  • @Ladiestreat It starts to get cold in late October/November, and even then it's not bad. In late November when it starts snowing, then it's bad.

  • very impressive!

  • 5:29 notice the Iowa Hawkeyes logo on the guy's helmet. GO HAWKS!!

  • Nice! Im a New Yorker & this stadium is beautiful. Im excited for both the Minnesota Twins and the Twins' fans. Congrats!

  • cant wait for opening day at target field. you know ill be there

  • @XxLoGiiKzZxX ticket prices are rediculous for opening day

  • @scrfce454 you're kidding right??

  • Give it a chance before you knock it.

  • @budgrant69 all i was saying was that after about 2 or 3 years the twins are gonna struggle to get people into the seats and therefore there revenue is going to suffer. and the twins are gonna suck

  • @budgrant69 Time will tell. WIN TWINS!!

  • I can say I have waited for this for a long time! Goodbye "roller rink" Met!

  • Home of the Minnesota Twins.

  • Once again HOK Sport designed a beautiful stadium.. By the way, they also designed Citi Field, Yankee Stadium II, Nationals Ballpark, Busch Stadium II and many other venues. Now if only the Dodgers would build a new ballpark.

  • thats fucking nice as hell, can't wait for baseball

  • this stadium looks nice but it does not compare to Citi Field or yankee stadium put together and i have been to both!!!

  • you're kidding right? Citi is nice but new Yankee stadium sucks.

  • @lfinnest THAT'S THE DUMBEST THING I EVER HEARD!!!TYPICAL HATER.

  • @pmacc5

I live in Manhattan and have been to the New Yankee stadium (and most pro baseball stadiums for that matter) several times (both good and not so good seats). Citi is just a much better place to see a game. However, by the tone of your comments you are clearly a genius so we should probably take your opinion more. Have you ever been outside of the five boroughs superstar?

  • i love how people are already bitching about target field wow its a fuckin shit load better than the metrodome, the worst stadium in all of baseball with its garbage bag outfield walls, cement grass, white ceilings and just overall atmosphere the place sucked cock as a venue for the twins! be proud you have a place to call home in a brand new nicely build stadium!

  • i dont likle the overlook but everything else is clawsome

  • i think they sould have built it with the retracablt roof and insted of a flashing sighn affter a twins home run they should shoot of fire works

  • The roof was impressive.

...snow angels in the outfield, eh?

But seriously, what you have there is a beautiful piece of work. It's not gonna be fun playing right-field there though.

  • Great job guys. Having a new park is always a nice treat.

  • B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L

  • Unbelievable.

Its absolutely beautiful, now we need a stadium for our Vikes and we're all set.

  • I hope we can make that happen.

  • @loconono1 It's a boring park, and fences are too deep. Only good new park with style is in Houston.

  • so god damned beautiful.

  • Citi Field and Target Field are some huge stadiums! I mean mega-big. The crew did a good job on this ballpark. This will be hard for Major League hitters to adjust to not having that big dome there anymore. Great job

  • it's going to be nice to see all the opposing right fielders go flying back for a fly ball to right only to wonder where the ball went

  • LOL... Yeah, you sound like you've got the intelligence of a yankee fan...

  • This is a beautiful ballpark, but what new stadiums aren't great looking. The walls in right and right center seem awefully high, but without knowing the exact deminsions, I am sure they are fair. The seating in right center looks a little odd. Almost like faulty construction or an earth quake, lol.

  • I CANT WAIT! i think theres gonna be some problems with the stone thingy in right field during the season tho

  • oh well. it'll make things interesting.

  • 70 more days till awesomeness!

  • Beautiful ballpark! I can't wait to see my first game here this season!

  • it looks nice hope the twins do good and go luck vikings to i love seeing dallas lose.....Pirates winning world series in 2010

    Go Steelers

    Go Penguins

    Go Pirates

    Go Notre Dame

  • @PittsburghSteelersTS Yeah right Pirates are going to finish last in the NL Central like always. Pirates suck. Its going to take them about 3 to 5 more years till they can actually contend for the world series.

  • @PittsburghSteelersTS Pirates winning the world series? They need to have a winning record first. You could probably get about 500-1 odds in Vegas.

  • I cant wait to enjoy my first MLB night game out doors ( Not including Miller park)

  • Doesn't need a Roof, everyone will have to man up and enjoy baseball outside. When I moved to LA from Minnesota the first thing I did was go to Angel stadium and Dodger stadium. Being outside is more fun and exciting. Vikes would be dumb to put a roof on a stadium if they get one too.

  • I hope the Vikings don't get a new stadium. MOA field is part of the Minnesota Vikings in my opinion.

But we sure as hell needed a new Twins stadium.

  • This is a great looking stadium, with a tarp on it 40 games a year. They made a mistake not making a roof and that means precipitation will be there everyday. But overall, if this was in a different part of the country, this is a great looking stadium...

  • @aztaxia12295

Precipitation? This isn't Seattle and we don't get rain every other day. Our summers are hot and humid with the occasional thunderstorm that almost never makes it to Minneapolis.

  • It doesnt rain here 40 days in a summer, it will be hot and humid and the twins before making the field they looked back at all the came and the last five years it only rain i think 6 games during Twins home games. it will be cold out in april but people in minnesota can take the cold and by then it will feel warm cause right now its no even getting to 10 degrees out.

  • i mean the twins looked back at all the Games and it only rain like 6 time s during a twins game in the last five years.

  • Of course, you have to remember that "cold" to Minnesota means -20 F with the wind chill. By April, we'll be sweating from the 40-degree heat waves, heh heh.

I'm sure some people will whine about the weather and the rainouts, but that's what Minnesotans do. It's just their thing, and you learn to live with it. The home games will be sold out for a long time.

  • aztaxia12295 have you ever been to MN?

    DumbAss

  • @aztaxia12295 Yeah, because it totally rains in Minnesota everyday.
