Gab looks Male to me, plus Gabriel is a common guys name(I know 5 guys named Gabriel). Also in Star Ocean 3, I can name the TRUE super boss difficulty order, Gab, Iseria, Lennteh, Freya.

@lostsoul1314 its supposed to be both: the hint is in the name. Gabriel being a guys name and Celeste often used in games as a girls name. its one of those boss/characters that ponders quite a few gamers; however this is my interpretation

Ah. That was Gabriel Celeste. The voice actor was male, so I guess that's what the developers were intending with his character. The character artwork shows this a bit better.

The other boss, Iseria Queen, was definitely female.

Yep Gabriel Celeste is male. His gender is much more defined in Star Ocean 3 and Valkyrie Profile 2. He and Iseria Queen (or Ethereal Queen) had the same sprite model in VP1, except their wing color
