  • very very excellent.

  • where does randy get all this cool clothes from haha randy you're the man. keep up the amazing work

  • when i was 10 years old, i bought my first record, 'Band of Gybsys' / now i'm 53 and it is still under my top 10. Hendrix just became such a great performer before he has died. A shame---

  • This band is starting to sound as well as look like some sort of all-star band. Manni von Bohr looks a bit like a combo of Geddy Lee and Johnny Winter.

  • Epic...So is this the bass players youtube channel?

  • I saw him at the Keswick theater and totaly blew away the audance wish he came east again great band and great music I have most of the DVDs and CDs

  • that voice is so fuckin real

    its so great

  • So what. Good impersonation. Thumbs up. Easy to walk in footsteps. Jimi been there done that. Not Jimi.

  • geezuz...u r really really close. been listening to jimi for 46 years and i recognize THINGS...nice buddy miles touch too...thx fellas :)

  • wow, gotta say u guys are true to the God of Guitar...nice, very nice job...thx, found something else to listen too. bravo,

  • You can SO get high with this music...

  • Absolutely amazing!!! Bravo!!!

  • This is fantastic, would anyone have any idea what sort of pickups Randy is using?

  • Just Perfection!...

  • It's a good thing to see Hendrix's message being kept alive . Even if it's a copy , but what a good copy !! Please Randy , come to France .

  • At last this wonderful concert on dvd coming to me to far Russia:)

  • I saw Randy Hansen doing this show back in 1979 at the Oakland Coliseum. The show was John Cougar Mellancamp who got booed off after 2 songs. Bill Graham chastized us, we booed him. Then Richie Blackmores Rainbow promoting Down To Earth with Graham Bonnet. They did amazing! And headlining was Randy Hansen's Machine Gun? Yes, its true. Ritchie felt intimidated by Randy and didn't wanna follow him. RAndy did the full hendrix show and blew everyone away. I never knew y until last week. I read it

  • BUDDY MILES RIP

  • Dude you ROCK this lick it's exactly like Jimi! I love it!

  • bravo c'est la perfection !venez en france et je viens vous voir ,c'est le meilleur cover de hendrix que j'ai entendu il y a tout dans votre prestation ! encore bravo continuez a nous faire revivre des bons moments comme ça!

    un fan français

  • I've seen Randy 6 times aned every time I see him, I feel Jimi's soul found Randy!!! I saw him at the Moore way back when with Mitch Michell on drums. Randy and the Band started playing at about midnight as they were waiting for the basss player. Mitch started out playing the base as Randys base player was hanging out in China town? LATE!!! Finally after the 2nd or 3rd song the bass player walked out on stage, ,Mitch Michell went to drums and for the next 2 hours I was blown away!!!

    YOU ROCK!!!!

  • @sixt8bird Sorry, I meant Buddy Miles. Not Mitch Mitchell.

  • Cool!!! This is the shit I'm talking about! just perfect ! Randy you rock man ! you have the feeling!

  • I cannot %$#$% believe it!!! My all time live recording by any artist any time, This guy is awesome. Note by note, and his voice is just like Jimi.

How come I never heard about him?? Randy come to Santa Barbara!!!!!

  • So much people hate on him , they should keep in mind that hes just tryin to keep the spirit of jimis music alive , thats what Jimi said himself , he wanted people to play his music and celebrate it after he had died... instead of appreciating Hansens work so many faggots hate on his nearly perfect artwork

  • God(s) ..all three ya's

  • Amazing!!!!!!! Brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i always go back to 023 to hear that ... its almost as if you are at the fillmore on dec 1969

  • This fellow is doing a super impers.of ol jimi! Id hav him at my nx garden party!

  • This guy is pfffff :D jimi lives

  • What DVD is this from?

  • @SturmAKS74U

It´s from our DVD "live in europe 2008"

If you want, you can get it from our homepage.

  • @ufowalter - Thank you so much for the fast reply. You bet I will! Can't wait to watch it on the 52" with the home theater!

  • @SturmAKS74U

    wow - i´d like that too ; )

  • So Cal. is waiting for YOU ! :))))

  • @SturmAKS74U MAN Randy outdone him self, Jimi must be so Proud!

  • spot on cover!!! amazing .. just next time I would prefer just to Listen to this than watch it..

  • A man did this nearly 42 years ago. A man who is my musician no 1. The most innovative, creative, patternbreaker, and surprising composer/arranger on guitar ever : Jimi Hendrix.

"Do we need this" many people will say?. Yes,, yes we do. GOOD music should be played as often as possible. There are alot of interpretations of Jimi´s music, which in a way are more interesting, BUT when it comes down to a "note by note" version, Randy earns all the respect he can get.

  • @pbstratocaster This takes a lot faway from his personal living time cuz he is living Jimis life again and not his so in a way he is wasting his years beeing jimi but in as way its worthit and stil...... very danferous to your soul

  • an uncanny and eerily close copy of Jimi's version.

  • Randy!!! The Swing Auditorium,1978 or so. The Rainbow show, with Blackmore. Announcer: "Randy Hansen has cancelled" so Rain-butt plays with Mr. 'Not So Awesome' Ritchie Backdoor. Crowd is leaving, Announcer: Randy Hansen is here now. Randy hits the stage and yells out: "THIS ONE'S FOR YOU RITCHIE!!!" and flat fucked that guitar up. We all new what his comment meant -- "If you can't play, stay off the stage". The Swing was brutal on bands -- and Ritchie was scared. Randy, YOU ROCK!!!

  • i can't beleive it ! Hendirx soul is in that guy ! =)

  • Nice swing feel. Bass parts don't fit right! Should have used Billy Cox or Mike Holland for that part!

  • This guy's [excuse me: the guys!] really good...

  • Seen him at The Keystone Palo Alto,Ca in the 80's, insane brother...

  • schönen Gruß von der Theodorstraße !!! HEY RANDY PLEASE DO HEY BABY...!!!!!!!!!! love peace and all

  • i thought it was hendrix.

  • I saw RH and he and his band were AWESOME. A truly hoorable cover band.

  • without the vid u would think it was the news years eve 1969

  • OMG !!! I heard randy do his bit as ozzy before, as I listened to this I shut my eyes and I could see Hendrix. I have never gotten emotional before with anyone except Hendrix. This song brought back alot of memories.

Incredible ! Thank you Randy .....

  • Caught his show in California long ago. Incredible performance.

  • Not sure if like this. It's like having a parrot tell you it loves you.i dont think Hendrix' performance at the Filmore should be copied

  • @TheSmartTeam2010 you may be thinking that 'copied' means 'cheapened'??? THINK of the humility work and respect Randy has had to have to carry this off so honorably. Every time you take a breath, you'copy' every other person on this planet. Stop breathing. Sorry you do not see and hear the difference between this and a "parrot saying I love you". Wow! I'm guessing you do not eat steak because the steak is 'trying to be a cow'???? Jimi would not be offended by this, I truly believe.

  • Gorgeous, reminds me of the most extraordinary day of my life!

  • Orgasmic !!!

Mother of all the covers to this song.

  • I wish there was a "LOVE" button

  • Pa ovo kida koliko je dobro :D

  • Does anyone know which fuzzies Randy's playing with here?

  • SICK MAD SKILL all around

  • @blueandluna Cool - thanks for your support...

  • Two people dont know about music

  • There is no tune heavier than 'Machine Gun'! Apocalyptic! Haunting! Epic!

  • Fucking epic. I kept recognising licks which sounded just as Jimi had played them! But also this cover gave me that feeling of euphoria I can usually only achieve by listening to Hendrix. Thank you so much!

  • @MusicallyManic

i had the same feeling with Randy since i play with him - he´s great. He´s not Jimi, but he´s original...

  • @ufowalter

Original? With this song? He's a hell of an impersonator! Not original here buddy - he's really going for the perfect impersonation. Leave it at that. Talented, fuck yea but I can't give props to guys walking in others' footsteps. Not that I could play this... just callin' you out though.

  • Id like to see Randy do more stuff off of Crash landing and freedom albumn. That was his best stuff. The preachy stuff.

  • @cisum1111 we play some of that stuff. Come to a live show and yell the songs you like - we might play it ; )

  • @ufowalter Great! Machine gun was very good also. Instead of Foxey lady, Id rather hear....MMM SO GOOD YEAH, OH SO TASTY HERE COMES A WOMAN WRAPPED UP IN CHAIN YOU'RE FOOLIN' WITH THAT FOOL BABY YOU PUT YOUR LIFE IN PAIN IF YOU WANT TO BE FREE COME ON ALONG WITH ME AND LEAVE THE HARD HEADED MAN HE'LL NEVER UNDERSTAND I SAID A FIND YOURSELF FIRST AND THEN YOUR TALENT WORK HARD IN YOUR MIND FOR IT COULD COME ALIVE THEN PROOVE TO THE MAN THAT UNDERSTANDS THE EYES ARE GOD
  • is this bunny van mohr on drums...great track!

  • @Slavuernes haha - yeah

  • we also call him Funny Man Bohr ; )

  • ist it true?he came on the 6 Nov to raid Hamburg?

  • @lowcash000 we played nov 5th at Downtown Blues Club in HH

  • 3:37: even Hendrix himself used to have hard troubles with that note...the key note of the whole song. I'm shocked. Come to Spain, to Bluescazorla.

  • i meant DVD...the one with Buddy on it....

  • cool..I just bought this CD..the voodoo bass on this is just fantazmafukkingoric...as is Manni and of course Randy...check out the Fender Strat test vid......hehe......GOOGLE.......... Randy Hansen Band:How 2 end an encore...thanx guys 4 the best entertainmenat and for keepin that spirit alive...peace

  • the 2nd coming

  • saw him at the paradise club in boston in the 70's....hes still an awesome show to see....keep rocking randy

  • Amazingly good!

  • them's some teef

  • when the light is right you can sometimes see jimi looking down from the stage, and the sound is truly orgasmic ORGASMIC!

  • And I can't forget to give a shout out to the rhythm section. Bad ass work!!! All the way around. Crap I am still wrapping my head around all of this. I can't believe I've never heard of this group before. Man-oh-man. :)

  • HOLY SHIT!!!! This is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never heard anyone come this close to sounding just hendrix!!!! Every lick is pretty much identical!!!

  • So Superb Randy... live on my brotha!

  • Was this dude born the day Jimi died? Amazing, truly amazing talent here. I hope to get to this level in about 20 more years, let's hope arthritis doesn't stop me before then!

  • Great stuff!

  • If a younger cat came out now playing like this he'd get attention. smoking.

  • Watching this again and again, Randy hast to come clean, we all know you're not Randy Hansen.

Jimi you faked your death, don't know why, we love you , so your sound, style, singing, looks give you away.

  • Randy Hansen - git

    Ufo Walter - bass

Manni von Bohr - drums Ultimate and Greatest Jimi Hendrix Cover Group on The Earth!

  • waaaaaaaaa yes

  • There are lot of us who do killer Hendrrix and we all have our followers who insist we do it the best. But I bet if you put us all in a room, we would unanimously vote Mr. Hansen as the best of the best. He just downright smoke us all!

  • Wow, that is spooky good, that's Jimi's tone exactly. I still listen to Band of Gypsys regularly...the drums and bass are spot on too. I just heard of Randy today. Great job by everyone!

  • 1.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000 times better than any Beatles song. And this is not even Hendrix, it's the ghost of Hendrix, Randy is the paradigm of Hendrix, Soul transition, or whatever, Randy is the real deal.

  • Jesus the tone and voice is perfect.I've been aware of Randy for a long time but every time I see him it's like the first.

  • I'm living in Bosnia and I don'n know how can I get this DVD or where can I buy this DVD. I realy want these. I never seen someone plays Machine Gun like Jimi. This is amazing.Randy is TOP,the hole band is TOP

  • better than the original

  • randy sure is a special guy, what feeling he has !!

  • HOWWWW DO YOU DO 3:41 PLEASE SOMEONE GIVE ME SOME TIPS :O

  • @DropCough High E string, 15th fret, bend up to the 17th fret and hold it. That is all there is too it. Ah, but how to get the sound. It is not flipping the pickup switch or a wha. You need your amp cranked and Fuzz Face pushing it. The key to the sound is a Univox Univibe. You can buy a remake from Jim Dunlop. The next best thing would be an EH Small Stone phase shifter. I have to tell you, when you plug a Strat through a Univibe into a Marshall, it's instant Bando fo Gypsies.

  • Nice Ufo....I continue to share the tunes.....

  • @jeremyb314 great - thanks my friend : )

  • Closed my eyes for a minute, thought it was Jimi actually playin'. Hats off to you Sir, great interpretation of Machine Gun. By far the best I've heard. WOW!!!

  • predobar

  • must be orgasmic to play that.. but making that kind of shit up, like Hendrix did, on the fly, is a completely different game.

  • I saw this guy at a little bar in Lahaina in 78. How bizarre is it that someone was born to do Hendrix.

  • quite a religious moment for me

  • The bass player is mixing up his parts... according Bill Cox. Too bad!

  • Comment removed

  • @LoewenRanger

    haha - no - but i like him ; )

  • @ufowalter

nevermind, i thought you were the drummer at first!!!

  • @LoewenRanger

I think, he looks like Chad Smith from the red hot chili peppers.

  • this is literally unbelievable. he's playing note for note. what the fuck.

  • is that a shin ei univibe thanks ni9ce take peace

  • This guy is the SHIT! Wow, he's covering Hendrix almost perfectly! Do you realize how almost impossible that is?

  • @RebelThoughts

yeah .. he´s amazing. I play since 12 years with Randy - he still shocks me sometimes ; )

  • @RebelThoughts must have done years of perfecting the moves to get those exact mistakes Jimi was making hahaha but its worth it at least you can see what jimi did this time

  • @RebelThoughts

he is good but why he cant play his own licks and style not talking bad about him but Jimi can be duplicated he almost plays note for not

  • @RebelThoughts

Holy Shit! I just saw this for the first time and I had not read your comment I wouldn't even known it was not jimmi

  • OH MY GOD !!!!! ZOMBIE-JIMI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WOW!

  • at one point while watching this video, i forgot if i was watching randy hansen or jimi hendrix 40 years later hes THAT good. wow.

  • Awesome guitar man ! He does even the loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonng note at 3.43 !!!

  • Please come to the states and wake up this dead crowd with your music.

    Luv it!

  • Randy NEVER stopss amazing me....if i didnt discover jimi hendrix at an early age i would think this was him..you guys are kickin ass and takin all names

  • Which guitar effect he is using? Brand recommendations!

    Randy rocks!

    Thanks!

  • @astrocyte100 hmm... fuzzface - crybaby - univibe... the usual Jimi FX.

and i´ve added echo and panning in the mix...

    regards -ufo-

  • @ufowalter Thanks man. You guys are great. Keep playing awesome music!

  • @astrocyte100

    you are welcome : )

  • hes got hendrixs guitar style down

  • what else could it be other than "machine gun" so heavy it gives me the goosebumps everytime i hear it.this version is cool and it is truly uncanny that randy

is pretty much nailing jimi's tone! randy, you are one heck of a brother to keep hendrix's music on the soundstage.keep it going bro! rockit! yeah rockit! lol!

  • He's really got that Fillmore tone down cold. It's freakish actually.

  • Kudos and hatt off. Freakin' real. The best cover for shure!

  • guys like you are keeping jimi allive, thx for that ,never stop playing his music ..just awesome ..grtz to you all ..

  • Whoops. Forget the Steinberger Bass question (I was thinking of a different video where I thought I saw you playing a headless bass - Not here..... Looks like a Fender P-bass or perhaps a G&L). Never mind.

  • Wow, this is incredible (Found this link on the KR Musical Products website). If you guys make it to New England, I'll be there. This is like the 'fully-realized' version of "Machine Gun". And that univibe tone. I want a Megavibe so bad. I made my way up the wait-list, but then I hit a financial speedbump and didn't have the extra $300 when my name finally came up. Oh well. Someday. That thing is the end-all, be-all of univibe-replicas.

Ufo, is that a Steinberger bass, or some custom headless?

  • What can I say that hasn't been said.....wow!!!! except the drummer screws the fantasy up!!!!! just when I really start to think it's Jimi.....the camera shows the drummer and it's ruined (not that his playing is off, just that the kit doesn't fit in....his appearance doesn't fit in either)....oh well....still another reason nothing compares to the REAL Jimi....all others are just rip offs

  • Brilliant is all i have to say.

  • Being someone who has been perfecting Hendrix covers for thirty years myself, this guy is the ULTIMATE tribute. The time, dedication, and love of the music is obvious. I love the vid on here of "Hear My Train." Hansen does it best....

  • yeah nice try hanson!

  • I seen Randy back in 77 and I was blown away. I remember him playing 1983 a merman I should turn to be -- wow! For those who might remember The Swing Auditorium in San Bernardino Ca at that time may have experienced the same thang let me know --peace.

  • SEHR GUT !!! Komm bitte wieder nach Augsburg, Randy !!!

  • There' no one like Hendrix, but if you close your eyes you can't tell the difference.

Glad Randy is holding up the torch.

  • He was (pure) awesomeness! "Only" the good die young!!

  • go get 'em randy! dude that note at the beggining of the machine gun solo

still continues to blow me away! WOW! COME TO BOSTON MASS. BROTHERMAN!

  • give the drummer a ludwig godammmn

  • Jimi Hendrix is in the wind .......

  • damn superb cover!

  • Awesome! hes got the vibe....ok its not original but is deep as hell, so who cares?.the sound of drums and bass are huge too...

    greetings from Brasil!

  • I can't begin to express how much I love watching this- thank you!!

  • If you guys show up sometime in Holland I'll be there!

  • fuckin a man i wouldnt even be able to tell the difference between this guy's gear and hendrix's, what the fuck?!?! I'm not really feelin the drummer tho

  • In the early 80s, I saw Randy Hansen open a show in Oakland, followed by John Cougar and Richie Blackmore. Hansen was so amazing, that the crowd booed Cougar off the stage and Blackmore brought Hansen back on to jam at the end. He is truly under appreciated.....a great feel for Hendrix, indeed.

  • hello Ufo, we had a great evening in Neuss and we definitely come again.

Hope in Holland but if it there will be no tourdates in holland in 2011 we come to Germany again.

Randy is great and he's got a great duo backing him up!

  • Holy f*ck!ng Sh!t seriously amazing. What's the possibility Hendrix had a son he didn't know about named Randy!!!! lol Not the real thing but as about as close as you can get.

  • I thought I was back in the jimi years again after watching this... Your very inspiring guitar player man! keep on rockin'!

  • Randy you're the best... no one managed to do this right but you.

  • Just got my tickets to the show on June 4th, 2010 @ Pilly's Keswick Theater. Seen Randy back in 79',80', & 83'. Always the consumate performer and keeper of the flame of Jimi Hendrix. Can't wait to see the show!. Only East Cast performance so far. I am there, Beavis!......Rock on with Randy and the Hendrix Tribute.

  • Excellent performance!!! Randy is fantastic as always. Ufo and Manni are a fantastic rhythm section for Randy. They also are very true and dedicated to the music of Jimi. Outstanding performance guys!!! I will be picking up a copy of this great dvd.

  • As a life long apostle of Jimi {even my son is named Jimi after him} i must say that was great...

COME TO ENGLAND!!! Jimi still has a massive following over here, and i would love to go and see you, i have been on a personal tour around Electric Lady and play guitar myself.

Thanks for posting this...and COME TO ENGLAND!!!

Peace, Love and Happiness, yeah, Happiness. VoN *

  • Hey - thanks for your nice comment.

Well, we tried several times to hook up with english bookers,

but it never seemed to work.

    We keep trying ; )

  • Hey Man!

    Hey!

Only Jimi could play this song so beautiful...

    And you!!!

    Wonderful!

    Awesome!!!

    Love'n'peace!

  • Hendrix wannabe

  • he should do a live cd with robin trower

  • damn hendrix voice even MAAAAANNNNN that just cool man like seeing hendrix his voice is just exactly but also the feeel

  • This guy's great- weird that hendrix was a lefthander and played a right handed guitar- and this guy is a right hander and plays a left handed guitar. Also is it just me or is he the love child of Austin powers and Hendrix?
