You know I never realized until just now, that this scene is the emotional heart of this story. "What you thought was right and what you're willing to live with" This is it. The whole movie revolves around this once scene. Everything else is window dressing. It's this one topic that the writer most wants the audience to deal with. Justice. Our perception of it and what exactly is "right" and what exactly is "wrong". Because we don't live in a black and white world.

She's so beautiful. If I was Det. Doormer, I would definitely have tapped that. A beautiful woman, working alone, in the middle of small town nowhere. Beautiful, single, a little lonely. I'm the hot-shot detective brought in to solve a high profile case. It wouldn't have been too hard to close that deal.

Hell, I might have even brought her back with me when I left there. She was hot.
