god do i love canada:) especially ontario, going up to lake simcoe ice fishing, then up to wasaga and north bay, snowmobiling, from coldwater, to orilla, and all over the god dam place having a blast! hurry up winter 2009/10 !!!! WOOOTTTT
The most southern locations in Canada can get down right frigid in winter and where I live at 48 degrees north latitude in the mildest Canadian region, a snowless winter is common and our winter temps. never dive to much below the freezing mark for any extended periods. Last Dec. was one of the coldest winters in years and our lowest temp. was only 20 F. ( -6.6 C)
It was bitching cold in many areas of Florida this past winter. Temps. in the Teens F. were recorded in northern Florida and down along the Gulf. The coldest temp. we had in Dec. 2009 was 24.2 F. We were milder here than Florida. Also Tallahassee the Ice Box of the state has recorded an all time low temp. much lower than we ever have. I've been to Florida, but I it's Hawai'i I like best.
@GHxx1 I know all of the data. Florida should be warm, it's at a hell of alot lower latitude.. However that doesn't mean squat when frigid air masses come straight down out of northern Canada and turns it into an Icebox. Even the southern US can't escape Old Man Winter every so often.
Cold is a matter of perspective. By Canadian winter temp. standards those are balmy temps. However if you live in the Keys, subtropical zone 8 C. is fucking cold! It has been to freezing in Miami and even snowflakes have been recorded that far south. It's northern Florida I'm talking about. The northern portion of the state can see ice and snow. Happens every so often. It's never really an ice box where I live. Long term Vegetation tells me alot about a regions climate.
It's "Any Colour You Like" by Pink Floyd. It can be found on their album, The Dark Side of the Moon. It's the album that supposedly syncs with the Wizard of Oz. Good album.
Miss winter? LOL, Summer just got started, how could you already miss winter. After my town got a 4 day snowstorm at the end of APRIL!! I could wait until next February before I'd miss winter LOL
Living in Maine and watching this in May is so much different than the depression it would cause to be watching this in say, October, when you know the white hell is soon on your door step. great video and tunes. I hope you have good wheels, cuz you seemed to be going too fast in some places. Personally, I feel safe driving behind a plow truck ... lol.
yup i remember that i was on my way to kincardine from oshawa for christmas and it was a pretty good snow day. This year there has been alot of lake effect already and im looking forward to some more
I just chewed all my fingernails off...awesome vid, man. Driving in that stuff is no picnic, we get some pretty nasty blizzards out here, too. Mind you, lake effect doesn't have any real competitors when it comes to sheer volume of snow per minute
Thanks for the comments, this was some of the worst white knuckle driving I have ever had to do but it was worth the video! The squall was not overly intense but the winds made it really bad in spots.
You are going about 80 km per hour are you nuts

I will be nice to you and even pick the (most likely) warmest part of Canada in the winter;
WolframAlpha search engine:
average temperatures victoria januari 7c
average temperatures victoria februari 5c
average temperatures key west florida januari 18c
average temperatures key west florida februari 20c
Have a nice (cold) day.

Icebox?
WolframAlpha, 2009:
lowest temperature key west florida 2009 8c
That's warmer than your average temperature in January and February, does that mean that you live in an icebox for two months?
lowest temperature key west florida 2010 6c Icebox?
highest temperature miami florida 2010 28c Icebox?
Wikiepedia: coldest temperature ever Key West 41F = 5C
Water turns into ice at 0c. We never had ice.
