Omelianchik was the closest thing to Olga that Russia ever produced, and Oksana wasn't really all that close. Gymnastics wouldn't be the same if Olga hadn't happened. Too bad it's all gone to hell in the last five or so years.

Taking nothing away from Shawn Johnson's relative skill, but she couldn't do Olga's routines if you put a gun to her head. Olga was like a great artist - she interpreted her art and made every move a presentation.

That lady speaking kiddies in case you don't know is none other than the great Larissa Latynina 1956 and 1960 Olympic Champ-and I believe she still holds the record for most Olympic medals won-18 I think.

can anyone who knows Russian tell me what the Russian fans yell when their athletes hit the floor on a dismount? A pronunciation more or less.....I am sure it's equivilent to "Stick!" but am not sure....thanks.

If they scream ''totshka'', it means that they should stick their dismount. It means ''point'' in Russian.
