I am sure he would have, had he not been depressed at the time. I myself have OCD, I know how horrible a chemical imbalance in the brain can be.

Hey, maybe a lot of the Neo-Cons did. I am not disputing that. Tom Tancredo is no Neo-Con and even if he was it is irrelevant. I checked it out and it turns out Tancredo suffered from depression and if you have bad enough depression, you would not be of much use on the battlefield. I want to join the National Guard someday, but until I get my OCD under control, I can't. That shows you that if you have a mental condition and you are still in the process of recovery, you are unfit for service.

Hey, I agree with you completely. Mental illness is not to be scoffed at whatsoever.

But I think the gentleman might have been implying that Tancredo lied about his previous state of mind to avoid the conflict. A similar observation may be made about Rush Limbaugh who cited a boil on his ass for his reason of temporary pacifism.
