Free-running is basically extreme parkour.

Parkour was described as an art of motion - A to B as directly as possible, overcoming all obstacles.

Free-Running was basically the 'aggressive' form of Parkour. Like inline speed skating vs. Aggressive Inline Skating.

Someone doing parkour will vault. Someone doing free-running will vault in a way that is exciting and difficult, or even flip the gap.

Parkour still has the occaisional 'trick', but that is not the primary focus.

The difference is minute. most people who say they practise parkour don't even train it to the true nature of maximum efficiency whatever.

@Etrieys efficiency vs creativity is what it is, not difficulty, i see a lot of parkour practicioners doing things that are significantly harder to physically do, whereas i see many free runners do things that require more aerial control.

@InMythxGodIsForce I think the aim is more the rush, the excitement, the adrenaline burst that comes from the 'Oh shit, I could die here' feeling, and the elation and absolute blast of energy that comes from landing it. I think certainly, creativity has a part in it, but realistically, if what you are doing is not difficult, the rush you get and the natural high you experience falls short of the full blast.

@Etrieys I actually found out that Freerunning is a made up word, Sebastian Falcon was explaining parkour to a producer and he said when we run and go out for a run were "free" from all the bounder's, from the obstacle's of everyday, its the part of the day we are truly free. and the producer said "O so freeruning?" and Sebastian was like kiinda. theres is no freerunning nor parkour in the end of the day its YOU and your training (ima continue in the next comment)
