Hi, just watched the interview and the reason Brian walked out is because the dutch interviewer only has questions about the opera part of the bohemian rhapsody and not about the tour. I remember sat in a room with Colin Baker (doctor Who) and he was doing an interview and he was asked some DUMBSHIT questions! Brian only wanted to talk about the Queen gig they would me playing, the interviewer agreed, but carried on about BR. Brian lost his patience. Can't blame him though....
I am sure there are alot of stars out there who fly halfway around the world, get jet lagged have no sleep and get pulled into an intrview that has nothing to do with why they came.

If you can annoy Brian May to the extent that he walks out, you must be asking seriously inane questions. He is a very polite, cooperative person, and never thinks of himself as being better than others just because he's famous. That interviewer needs to re-think his technique.
My language is similar to Dutch/Flemish (Afrikaans) so I think what he wanted Brian's opinion on students of some sort or another and that was what was on tape... clearly Brian did not want to sit and watch bits of tape etc etc. The bohemian Rhapsody repeat question seemed to have been the final straw.
You have to remember that fir these local TV station guys, this is their big moment, so they're gonna ask the stuff they've always wanted to know. They can be a pain, but mostly suffered for the very reason I mentioned. Brian has more patience than me, I have to say. I can lose it gold medal style, when in the presence of total idiots - so well done Brian!

You clearly have no knowledge of how famous people do interviews. (I do) Any one with fame has a reputation and image to protect they have their managers prepare a format of questions and issues that the interviewer must stock with. Before the interview both interviewer and famous person know what "type" of questions and issues they will be asked about. These interviewers decided to try and be clever and divert from a agreed formatt, that is why Brian May walked out!

They kept asking questions about Bohemian Rhapsody (what's it about, couldn't you play the whole thing live including the opera bit,...) but Brian was there to talk about the We Will Rock You show.
So when they kept asking non-related things he walked out (in a very polite manner).

I saw Brian May in 1998! GREAT SHOW!! if I interviewed him id probably ask afew guitar geek questions as I am a guitar player :) ask him what equipment hes really into at the moment! anything new that he has discovered and likes using? ask him about John Deacon! just normal questions that are about him, his life and tour!!

I remember sat in a room with Colin Baker (doctor Who) and he was doing an interview and he was asked some DUMBSHIT questions! I remember one dumb question which was 'how much do you weigh? you have put on weight'?? what the hell?? anyway, Colin took over after afew silly questions and interviewed the interviewer and took the piss, it was funny :)

The interviewer wanted to ask questions about Bohemian Rhapsody and also wanted to show Brian footage of some Dutch music-studends playing a Queen song. Brian only wanted to talk about the Queen gig they would me playing, the interviewer agreed, but carried on about BR. Brian lost his patience. Can't blame him though....

If you can annoy Brian May to the extent that he walks out, you must be asking seriously inane questions. He is a very polite, cooperative person, and never thinks of himself as being better than others just because he's famous. That interviewer needs to re-think his technique.

My language is similar to Dutch/Flemish (Afrikaans) so I think what he wanted Brian's opinion on students of some sort or another and that was what was on tape... clearly Brian did not want to sit and watch bits of tape etc etc. The bohemian Rhapsody repeat question seemed to have been the final straw.

You have to remember that fir these local TV station guys, this is their big moment, so they're gonna ask the stuff they've always wanted to know. They can be a pain, but mostly suffered for the very reason I mentioned. Brian has more patience than me, I have to say. I can lose it gold medal style, when in the presence of total idiots - so well done Brian!

I think Brian only (reluctantly) agreed to do the interview if the questions were about the show, but then the interviewer started asking questions about other things such as Bo Rap. Brian rarely does interviews nowadays because he keeps being asked the same questions like 'what pickup settings did you use in song X/Y/Z', 'what was Freddie like', e.t.c., after 40 years I can only imagine how tiresome these questions must be.

I don't know anything about Brian May, I just know that he looks exhausted and if I was reporting I would have just asked if I could get another appointment during his lunchtime the next day or something - not to be polite but simply because you won't get any straight answers out of ANYONE when they're in this condition. I don't understand Dutch, but it must have REALLY taken a lot to irk Brian May like that, as the only impression I've ever had of him is he's a very low-key and humble guy who does what he does, and does it well. He's never put himself on a self-important pedastal. The interview was to promote the show, if the interviewer won't cooperate, on the the next one who will likely gratefully play ball. No harm there.

No, I am dutch and so I understood every word. The reporter only asked some questions about bohemian rhapsody and wanted his reaction to a tape (something with students I believe). May didnt like that and only wanted to talk about the tour. So he walked out. Probably had a bad day.

I have had the honor as well, when he was on his book tour for "A Village Lost and Found". I am a shy person, and he could have just signed my book and not even looked at me. But instead, he struck up conversation several times with me saying "it's a shame we don't have more time to talk at these things" and "How did you become interested in stereographics?". I was petrified, because he is a man a really look up to. And now, I always will. He is a great man.

I'm from Holland as well, but I fully understand Brian. I would've walked away as well, when people keep asking redundant or irrelevant questions. Brian even came back, gave him another chance, but the dutch guy kept talking about bohemian rhapsody and not about the concert. May is tired and wants to go and that's imaginable.

A justified walk out It's the same thing when Queen went to Brazil or Buenos Aires and the woman kept asking him something perhaps along the lines of I Want To Break Free, and it having gay connotations. I ve seen the whole "news item"...They wanted to ask Brian why Queen never performed the "opera part" of Bohemian Rhapsody live AND wanted to prove to him it was actually possible to do so...They even went as far as to ask a bunch of students from a rock academy to perform it live, just to prove to Brian it could've been done...that was on that tape that wouldnt play...oh, and they wanted to know where the song was about...yep...I think Brian's reaction was really, incredibly polite...

You clearly have no knowledge of how famous people do interviews. (I do) Any one with fame has a reputation and image to protect they have their managers prepare a format of questions and issues that the interviewer must stock with. Before the interview both interviewer and famous person know what "type" of questions and issues they will be asked about. These interviewers decided to try and be clever and divert from a agreed formatt, that is why Brian May walked out!
