There's no advantage to becoming a military stalker. The military trader's stuff is way to0 expensive, plus he doesn't sell anything special or spectacular, plus being a military stalker makes you enemies with everyone other than Duty and the Army. Lone stalkers will attack you on sight. It's best to become an ecologist. That puts you on g0od terms with both Freedom and Duty without making enemies out of anyone who wasn't already an enemy.
I (shamefully) haven't managed to beat the vanilla Stalker. I got to the part you're at when the video starts, but since it was night and I didn't have a sleeping bag (damn vanilla) even with NVGs I couldn't do it.
The Military Trader shows up after you finish the main storyline with a true ending.
In Vanilla, you would enter a cinematic after your teleport tour ontop the NPP, in ObLost you get teleported to the courtyard and you can walk back all the way you came.
When you come out, the Military Trader will be outside of the NPP, in small military outpost where a fully upgraded AN-94 and an RPG-7 is, while you were making your run into the NPP before the scripted blowout.
I just found that area today not to0 long ago while running through Stancia searching for the Minigun. Didn't find it in Pripyat or Stancia. "Stancia" is the area outside the Chernobyl plant, right?
Woah, Burer's at enhanced speed sound partially normal.
Also, military trader is to the left of NPP when you first enter. It's like, 2 times the length past the first train to the NPP breach, where you jump into it.
They where already exploded when I got to them >:/
I didn't know Kanyhalos acually put himself as a trader in-game. And also, according to my game files, there is a Merc Trader, and a Millitary trader as well, but I don't know if they are added by Arsenal or not.

That particular trader is neutral towards you, and you can join the Military through him.

Also, you should see if Kanyhalos' shop inventory is randomly generated.
