  • the back end on that supra looks like it would catch alot of air rushing by underneath.... perhaps a diffuser with skid plates underneath for more cut-through-the-air ability? just an idea, possibly make it go THAT much faster :P

Since you like to make assumptions here is some base data to help you make another one. @ 60% boost my car makes 432whp 423tq (dynojet) weighs 3200lbs has 4.10 gears full boost by 4k rpms redline is 7900.

  • @nickster1318 so u should know the gear difference alone is equal to 50-60 whpand like I said thats 60% boost limit. This sounds like a dead even race with my mid settings. Z weighs 3240 doubtful you would beat me at 60% no chance at 80%

    Bonneville is NOT a standing mile event. It's a speed trial over 4-5 miles.

  • @zee6pak E/BMS class land speed was not bases on 4-5 it was a timed MILE and considering in the class it had to be a complete street going vehicle and is performence on sand/salt a far cry from a VHT prepped track with slicks. The record stands for a reason The max speed is not merely governed by distance as much as potential. Thats like saying if you hold down the throttle on a veyron for 10 miles it will do 300mph.

JUN 300zx still holds the world record for top speed E/BMS class 2.6 litr to 4.2. 2nd the 300zx has a VG30DETT not an RB. While ppl in this country are building 900hp supras that only run 11's RB's were the the choice of 6 out of ten in the time attack challange. JUN built a supra also.

Right now the VG is in the 6's just like the 2jz but Z also autocross becuase they have a usable powerband not a dyno queen that still only runs 11's. I have drug 74mm supras.   • @DVcustomZ Guessing you dont know that Supra's regularly rev to over 9000rpm right? People are quick to talk shit without knowing everything about what they are commenting on. My old gay 1.8L B-Series stock cam GSR with a T67 didnt make boost until about 4500, and by 6k it was at 20psi and peak tq, it carried that power all the way to 10k, and since I never dropped below 7k when I shifted it made not one bit of difference where the power was made, I was in my powerband all the time under WOT

  • @TurboGSR96 some rev that high but most don't. It depends on usage for track u have stalls n02 and other things on a street car powerband matters. U hve to beat the crap out of your motor to go anywhere. I start boost at. 1700rpms and pull through 8k a street car should be responsive. I hve a 2j 240 a track car that's a different story. Though

  • These cars have more then enough useable powerband if built correctly to do what they need to do is my point, being a small motor its always going to take longer to get to peak power, but for the most part the smaller inline motor have a more useable rpm range to the negatives cancel each other out... you can go back and fourth forever every car has its ups and downs... if it goes down the track fast thats all that should matter.

  • @DVcustomZ You seem semi smart, you should know a small displacement motor takes a long time to spool a big turbo, there is nothing you can fucking do about it. You cant make a small fast spooling turbo make big power so its what has to happen.

    You should also be aware that in a traction limited application (such as a high hp fwd honda), having power come in slowly aids in traction, thats why all the fast fwd cars run some form of boost by gear, by mph or by time to aid in traction down low.

  • @TurboGSR96 Boost by gear is good but if you plan your build well you cvaneliminate most lag. The prob is most just strap the biggest turbo they can find. EX u can strap a gt47-88(rated 1200hp) onto a 2jz it will spool at like 4200+ rpms or you can get a billet 7672 with 280cam spool at 3000. Same true for honda I hve boosted a k20 w/20g turbo vtec kicks in @5500 which is already full boost redlines at 9k power band=all day circuit car

  • @TurboGSR96 I will explain this slowly, 1 u don't get 5 miles you to do the 1 mile run twice back to back the majority is slow down. 2 the salt flats are regulated u cannot just through stuff under the hood.NO Nos 3 you do understand that if a honda can reach 100mph in one mile it will not reach 200 in 3miles right. Top speed is what it is. Also JUN built a supra to compete end never could surpass their own record.

  • @zee6pak The JUN 300zx ran 260.87 with 986hp Aerodynamcs/airpressure seems to be overlooked not an expert just based on what was succesful.

    That 260 was over 4 miles!

    I doubt it would have even hit 200 over a standing mile.

    Bonneville events are a very far cry from standing mile events like the Texas mile
