  • Make me your lady Mr Pelletier

    Esmeralda: ENOUGH. COME ON, BABY!

  • This is 13th track > "Tentative d'enlevement"

  • i dont like how in the end the prick lives.....

  • 0:49 He's just like, "Damn."

  • I wish Esmeralda and Grignoire ended up together in the book... if only he didnt love the goat more than her in the book...

  • I Just keep pressing playback button to watch this part again and again and wish it would be a bit longer

  • for me this is the best part. Somehow I think Gringoire is the best of all, if Esmeralda hadn't obstinately and blindly loved Phoebus, she could have lived happily with Gringoire. Phoebus is just like an unreal prince, the prince in girl's dream, a handsome, sly and captivating knight, meanwhile Gringoire is romantic and poetic, and above all he has a charming voice :D

  • I don't like her. I don't like her at all! Mostly because i'm jelous :DD

  • I love the harp in this song!!

  • OMG ! i really like his face when she says it's the men that she love .. like : grrrrrr

  • I really love this song.

  • This song's real name is "Le mot Phoebus" ("The word Phoebus"

  • So sweet & touching Q_Q

  • "If I recall my Latin, the word Pheobus means asshole"

  • @dieintheattempt1 looooooooooolllllllllllll!!!!!!!

  • @dieintheattempt1 Oh, how I wish I could like this more than once. I just about laughed out loud in the middle of a school building.

  • @dieintheattempt1 hahahahahahhaa wow ur comment made me really laugh out lloud

  • This is not La Cour Des Miracles just Le Mot Phoebus

  • Gringoire's expression at 0:47 is like "fine, I'l tell you but I don't see what's the point"

  • @TheSuperNoum: In the novel, the people of the cour des miracles are going to kill Gringoire because he came sneaking, but Esmeralda agrees to "marry" him to save his life. It is not a true marriage by any stretch of the imagination, especially since she is love with Phoebus...if i remember correctly, gringoire is also in love with esmeralda, but as i said above, she loves phoebus...Gringoire is another in the list of characters who loves esmeralda because of her beauty...hope this helped lol =D

  • @KyleMay123 I should add that in the book, Gregoire tries to appoach her during the first night and she refuses, and when he insists, she threatens him with a knife.

  • @CataDanna true true. its been a while lol...

  • that's 15 le mot phoebus sorry i must be annoying i knw just want to set the records straight :-p

  • but I do not understand, Gringoire is gay or not? Because in the song during the miracles, the gypsy Esmeralda request if it wants to Gringoire as a husband .... But Esmeralda loves Phoebus, why she agreed to take pure Gringoire husband ... ?

  • @TheSuperNoum The marriage thing in this story doesn't have anything to do with the religious thing. It comes from a kind of law (tradition ? ) that say that a man who is going to be hung can be saved if someone propose to marry him at the last moment. It's absolutely not official and means nothing about love or sex.

  • Well since she didn't want Gringoire...is it to late to call Dibs?

  • Elle aime un homme nommé Phoebus? Je ne comprenais pas

  • love this song...very pretty...I hope it would longer

  • I love this song, is sad that is not much long

  • j'adore esmeralda

  • "Pheobus veut dire... soleil! :3" Dsl mais j'suis parti a rire a la fin xD

  • Oh man did they consummate their marriage right there in the thieves' den

There's probably more filth on that floor than there is in filth

    Ugh ugh ugh

  • @MorroccoSurrogate Romani (Gypsies) has/had a cultural obsession with cleanliness in medieval times, so it probably would have been much cleaner there than most other places. But also, if you recall in La Cour des Miracles Clopin says "He's yours as a spouse, but not as a lover" meaning that they didn't sleep together at all. Of course, in the real world Esmeralda would have had to move out of the Court to marry into Gringoire's family and would no longer be considered Romani, so yeah.

  • @MorroccoSurrogate He tried to consummate it, but she wasn't thinking the same way xD

MY heart beats for Gingoire, Esmerelda's crazy!

  • OMG Esme's face when he aks who goes by Phoebus

  • As I remember, this song's title is "Le mot Phoebus"

  • I love this song. but why is it so short? Esme and Gringoire should sing more together..

  • lyrics goes so smoothly with the melody!!! Can't stop replaying it!!

Now I understand why people call French "the Language of Love"!

  • I like how Gringoire says he isn't a ladies man in this but then next we see him in Val D'amour :P still we can't totally blame him if Esme rejected him. I can't believe she did Gringoire is so much better than Phoebus and Bruno is gorgeous, second to Daniel though by a teensy bit XD

  • he's sooooo amazing! that voice!

'if he's free, i'll take him'!!!

actually i think he's not only the sexiest person in this play, but also the best actor here.

    i really admire him :)

  • Ah ah... Matteo Setti forever <3

  • That thing dares to share a first name with Lord Apollo? The nerve!

  • I'd go for Bruno..

  • I love this piece :O

  • As an animal person, I'd like to clear up something: Gringoire is not a zoofilist. He loves Djali (it's actually quite cute), and he waxes on about how beautiful and delicate she is because he's a poet.

I'm actually a little disappointed that Djali was left out of the play (although I guess she had to be), because she contributes a lot to Esmeralda's character and is actually quite important to the plot.

  • Lol, 0:40 Bruno's like, "wtf, who's the presumptuous asshole who would dare take such name?" ... Whoops ^^

  • @Queenisgod This is Le mot Phoebus

  • excuse me... I haven't ridden the book... Is Gringoire zoofilist?

    I'm confused O-o

  • @myspecualworld

He becomes friendly with Djali...QUITE friendly.

  • he bit his lips so sexy...)

    0:48 / 0:49

  • This song is soooo beautiful! It plays on all the hopes of Love, whether it's Esmeralda's naive feelings or Gringoire's poetic ideas of love. And yeahhh....I wouldn't get up too fast if I was Esmeralda sitting beside Bruno :D

  • I wish he could hold my hand lol

  • Even though this is such a short song, it's one of my favourite songs in the entire musical!

  • It's so cute how when Esmeralda gets up to sing Beau Comme le soleil, Gringoire looks so rejected... I want to just lift his chin and kiss his cheek, saying that it's okay. <3 :3

  • I'm french, and i love that song! thanks for recorded it!

  • Esmeralda the best...

  • fantastico Bruno Pelletier!!!!!!

  • the needs to be an Unconditional Love button!! <3

  • They totally miscast the part of Grignoire... in the book, he is petty, cowardly and talentless. This Grignoire is super talented and hawt!lol;)

  • so pure and so awesome)) luv it)

  • Gringoire ♥

    I love it ! ! !

  • Oh Phoebus can go jump in the Seine and drown!!! Uuuuuggghh....My personal opinion is that Esmeralda be with Claude so BLAH!!

Gringoire is one sexy man though! And a poet!

  • Does anyone else thing that Esme should have stayed with Grignorie? I mean, he was really nice and they' were kind of married.

  • This...Is...The...Best...Version...EVER!!!!!

  • Le mot Phoebus veut dire soleil

  • Bellissima canzone, bravissimi anche gli interpreti!

  • I love Bruno's expressions when she mentions Pheobus and how she loves him instead. He looks so hurt, but not for himself, but for her and how Pheobus will break her heart. So sad.

  • i adore this song. its one of my favorites, if only it were longer... and Gringoire is absolutely amazing. His voice, expressions, and he is oh so handsome! (;

  • I love them together. Gringoire cracks me up in the book and here. I love the look he has at 0:47 sort of like "oh... damn." Although one thing confuses me. When he says he's not a ladies' man, is he saying he won't run around on her or is he saying he's gay? Something about the way it's phrased makes me wonder, but that could just be the translation.

  • @MisfitRed No, I don't think Gringoire is gay, but by "I am not a ladie's man" I think he means that he's not a womanizer (like Phoebus) and that he won't betray her or leave her for another girl....

  • My poor Esmerellda, Phoebus doesn't love you. :(

  • @unswgoldenleo Phoebus loves her

  • @jessyjames43 He loves her body. He doesn't want to marry her or be together with her. He says that she is a devil to and that she has cast a spell over him

  • Ouch...

Gringore: I will offer you everything.

Esmerellda: My heart beats for another man...Do you know what the name Phoebus means?

  • I've watched multiple versions of this same song (which somehow is my favorite out of the whole show) and this is the only duo that really GETS it. Their characters, singing, and quirks are right on. Esmeralda's polite but distant bearing (and don't you love that annoyed look she gives him at 0:42 onward?) is consistent with the book, and boy... Gringoire's got some 'tude! Gotta love them-- the stage chemistry is great.

  • I can't stop listening to this song O___o

  • She *just* met Gringoire, why the hell would she be in love with him?

  • What a lovely little tune! I could listen to Gringoire sing those lines over and over again... they're quite catchy.

  • I love this one. It was the very first one I heard. I hate that he's offering her EVERYTHING and she picks Phoebus. All Frollo and Phoebus wanted to do was sleep with her. Quasimodo was crushing on her and at least he would have been better but Gringoire was litterally offering her his life and everything and she completely ignores him and decide to ask about Phoebus. I hate seeing that look of defeat at the last second in this song, it makes me want to jump into the screen and hug him.

  • You'll be welcome to make me your nymph, your muse, your lady!!!

  • Ahhh! Esmeralda and Gringoire had to be together! It was fate that they got married, they were supposed to fall in love, but that man-whore, Phoebus just had to be in the way.

Bruno Pelletier is my favourite Gringoire ever, he gives him such charm and charisma, it's impossible to not stare at him, and Helene Segara is simply gorgeous, when she stares into space her face looks angelic and her voice is so likeable. AMAZING! This is without a doubt my favourite song in the whole musical. ^__^

  • Gringoire on a mattress. And she's asking about another man's name!

  • @Cdelion I agree completely. If I was her, talking about another dude is not what I would be doing here...

  • Oh mon Dieu o_O

  • tres tres belle chanson;j'adore bcp

  • Bruno Pelletier has one of the best male voices i've ever heard. And i feel weird saying this, but his movements are so seductive...sigh....

And that look at 0:49 - to die for.

  • hmmmm it's a shame this song is only one minute... :(

  • The song is called "Le mot phoebus"

  • Phoebus might mean "Sun" in Latin, but in other languages, it means "man-whore".

  • he's a LION ! just like the movie Troy thet Brad Pitt plays.

  • I think Claude Frollo is hotter than everyone in this musical xD

  • Esmeralda, u lucky bitch! You get everyone!

  • @LolitaLexi Watch the rest of "Notre Dame de Paris" - And you'll see just how lucky she gets, and you'll see what she ultimately gets ;)

  • @Vikkoman She got up and personal wit Frollo...ooohhhh sooooo lucky....but then dying...:(

  • Shouldnt Gringoire be more jealous about Phoebus and shouldnt he be more worried about his wife? neither one of them seem to give a flying hoot about each other after their original get together (this scene.) why is that?

  • @alliecat889 It is highly suggested in the musical (and in the novel) that Gringoire is either homosexual, or just uninterested in women.

That would explain why he seems to be impervious to Esmeralda's looks.

  • thank you for that. i didnt really notice it myself but now that you mention it yes. It would explain his lack of desire for Esmeralda.

  • @ChiefDefective : ...and the fact that he seems more interested in Djali, in the book I mean.

  • yah well Gringoire actually says it himself : "Je ne suis pas homme à femmes" (I'm not a ladies' man) the translation isn't quite exact, but it's a wink to his sexual orientation.

  • I second that. And there is an obvious wink to his sexual orientation in the lyrics "Je ne suis pas un homme à femmes" (I'm no ladies' man). The translation in english isn't quite exact but it does deliver the meaning if you read between the lines.

  • well they are married yes but esmeralda just married him so he wont die, so she actually tells him that she loves phoebus, and the gringnoire guy does get a little you know ... jealous..and the gring guy accepts the fact that she likes another guy because she saved his life marring him, but not for love hoped that helped a little :)

  • @glittersmile you're right. this isn't la cour des miracles.

    i like this song!

W książce mnie śmieszył i troche mi go było żal. Ten tutaj jest nieznośnie romantyczny.

A ten głos....

  • I absolutely love this musical. I like the look and personality that has the poet Gringoire here.

  • When I saw this version I was merely confused. In book Gringoire is stong chinned zoofilist, and in this play he's a total sexbomb (Yeah. I'm still straight even though I said it!)

  • Ya, Bruno Pelletier can have that effect

  • Comment removed

  • @mangahawk92. Take a look at the singer now, you would definitely take back what you said :P. Anyway, i would like to read the book but i'm afraid its not so easy to read, is it ?

  • It definetly is pretty hard book to read. How Hugo tells about france and Notre Dame gets really boring and hard to read. Best parts are with Frollo and Gringoire though. I recommend to give it a try.

  • @ChampSpinoza : I didn't find it difficult to read, and I think it's a beautiful book. Like mangahawk92 said- give it a try.

  • It's a great book, i've read the english translation and it's.. pretty classical so if you like that kind of books you'll love it. i like the book myself but still Hugo's "les Miserables" was better in my opinion :)

  • @mangahawk92 : I actually find Gringoire quite sexy (in an awkward way) in the book (expect for the zoofilism).

  • who gives a shit if Gringoire is a pagan???!!! all i care about is that he's gorgeous!! and he's got an awesome voice!!!!

  • de toute facon, ce passage la, y'est sexy, c'est tout ce quil y a a dire :)

  • I think Gringoire is actually a pagan.

  • Classical Latin poets also used Phoebus as a by-name for the sun-god, whence common references in later European poetry to Phoebus and his car ("chariot") as a metaphor for the sun. But in mythological texts the Sun-god and Apollo are otherwise not confused or identified." (Encyclopedia)

  • "Phoebus is the Latin form of Greek Phoibos 'Shining-one', a by-name used in classical mythology for the god Apollo. Under the alternative spelling Phevos (pron. Fivos) and together with Athena, he was a mascot of the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens.

  • Phoebus is for latin for the God of Light and Truth. (Light can imply the Sun). Apollo is the same as Phoebus but in Greek.

  • maybe phoebus is greek, but actually, he's not sure of what he says so, it doesnt matters....lol

  • Phoebus is not a LATIN word, it is a GREEK word ! The latin of Phoebus is Apollo !

  • phoebus is the latin form of the greek phoibos. so phoebus is a latin word. and it's also used for the sun because apollo was the sun

  • Nope.. Apollo is the greek word for Pheobus.

  • The chemistry between Helene Segara and Bruno Pelletier is so tangible... I love this scene--it shows what great actors both of them are. Also the words and the music--everything is so concise and eloquent.

  • Best song in Notre Dame de Paris.

I love this. I'd listen to this song on replay for a week or more. :D

  • OMG Bruno is so sexy and his voice is just like....WOW !!!

I love this musical, love the story and I love Bruno Pelletier !!!

  • i would have chosen him too... actually i think phoebus is an asshole and gringoire is pretty romantic...and according to the musical Bruno pelletier has a so sexy voice XD

  • He does seem the more romantic character, I adore him!

  • Yeah, this song is called "Le Mot Phoebus"....

And Gringoire is way hotter than Phoebus!! I would've chosen him over Phoebus!!!

    I Love This Song!!!!!!

  • @CelineRox13 yea but i totally would have chosen quasi, or frollo.haha tey are all hot

  • Damn, Gringoire is just too hottt :D

It's a shame this song is not longer :( In any case, the greatest songs to Notre-Dame de Paris is the ones Bruno is singing in : Lune, le Val d'Amour... :D

  • I prefer Gringoire to Phoebus ! I would have jumped on him =)

  • @LadyKnight6 AHAHA you're not the only one!!! I'm obsessed with him in over a year!

  • Bruno is something out of this world...

  • I love this musical!!!

    this song is so cute

Bruno is an amazing singer and he is incrediable hott ;)

  • I love this one in every language*____*

  • he is so sexy and charming in this too short song))))
