Dude my teacher in my web design class actually let ,e steal a monitor from another computer at school for my web design class!

Nice video. But I have something that would be helpful if it was resolved: So I connected my netbook to a monitor via VGA. I have also used headphone jack things to connect both screens to speakers (they are eroline iPod speakers and I have one for each screen). But on the second monitor the speakers don't play any sound, this is annoying because if I am watching a movie or something I don't get the best out of the speakers because one of the speakers doesn't work. I use three monitors.

On the centre and the one on the right i have Fruity Loops open when I am producing and have a browser on the left.

In normal usage, I have youtube open in the middle, Im's twitter and facebook on the left and on the right, I have my browser open for general usage

I'm having problems setting up dual monitor of different native resolution and 5.1 sound system, both monitor are connected to a GeForce 210 512MB that has HDMI, DVI, VGA and surround support via HDMI. The setup consists of a 22 in monitor connected by VGA cable to the video card and a 720P 42 in TV connected via HDMI to av receiver, then from av receiver to the graphic card. The setup works but the screen layout is screw up where the TV always have desktop area outside the viewable screen.

@VidKid9 Yeah, that's why having two screens isn't the best choice for gamers. But it can come useful, if you have your full screen game on one monintor, then your web browser and all the other stuff on the other monitor so it saves you alt tabbing.

If I want to set up dual monitors, with my laptop - I have a 1440x900 17" laptop. Can I dual screen with a 22" 1680x1050 resolution? If I want to extend my desktop across those 2 moniters, will the windows get messed up in size as i drag them across?

No your OS is design for that. It's always better to have the exact same monitor but it's not really possible with laptops. The only thing you'll dislike of having two different resolutions is that they will be matched pixel for pixel so if you do not set them right your mouse will get stuck in a corner and it can be annoying.

Believe me, I use three monitors and I would not them to have different size. Even model since the colors would not match.

I have a vga and a dvi-d plug in the back of my video card, the paper it came with said i could use an adapter but from what ive been reading if it dosent have the 4 holes around the slit then i cant use the adapter because it wont transfer the digital to analog. There is many type of DVI signal : DVI-I, DVI-D, Dual link DVI-I, Dual link DVI-D. They all use the same connector but they have different bandwidth. Wikipedia will be a good friend to have more information about those.

What you need to do is check which connector you need and get the good adaptor.
