Where I've lived in the UK I've never come across any kind of serious discrimination in public; religious, race or sexuality... so it sometimes shocks me to see people like this.

Racism clearly does exist though and it can happen to anyone regardless of which race you belong. It's up to us to challenge it when we see it or experience it... whether that's by simply reporting it or (if safe to do so) by confronting the racist.

I, in no way want to marginalise racism but I'm white, and I've experienced the exact same treatment, sometimes even worse when I've had the need to walk in areas such as these. In places like that, if your face is not recognised you are going to get shit.
