i saw this movie last night and i liked it! better than i expected! :) i'm not even familiar with the runaways or joan jett or anything so i watched it with no previous knowledge...i guess it's a good thing i couldn't compare it to the real thing so i was able to watch it with an open mind. i think that's why i thought it was good - because i don't know whether or not it captured the original band's vibe.

The actor who plays it does not have to have the same personality in anyway, and should not be judged of previous movies. It is just so irrelevent and honestly, it doesnt matter. Whew! It's so refreshing to see Kristen Stewart play a badass. Her acting skills are really incredible, especially in this movie. To be honest, she shouldn't be portraying characters like bella. Not to offend people who adore the character, but she seems rather Mary Sue-ish to me. Stewart...I don't know, she just gives off more of the ass kicking action girl type of vibe. It's rather attractive, really.

@j7609 I think the JJ you are talking about is the adult Joan Jett. The Joan that Kristen was portraying is teenage Joan. Joan has even said herself that when she was younger (and in the Runaways) she had this beautiful naïveté. I think Kristen pretty much nailed that naïveté and did a wonderful job playing teenage Joan. I'm not sure how she would have played adult Joan, but I guess we'll never know. :)
