damn i miss this... I was a gymnast but i had to quit cause my body couldnt take it anymore.. so now i dance. but this is so great. I miss it so much!!
im a gymnast and i dont have to train that hard and i think some of them should go to the olympics cause there good and i dont get how cheerleading is harder or more dangerous than gymnastics
these grls are so much stronger than you can imagine...this video it great but doesnt do it quite the justice...u need to feel the actually stress they go thru from training for this.
No guts no glory. Those gymnasts are training hard to accomplish their goal. They train hard for a reason! They luckily survive through the pain and the misery, but some day it will be worth it! Why quit if they've already come so far? Gymnasts are taught to go for the gold no matter what it takes. It could take years to be the best, but one day, you'll know why your coaches pushed you like that! I have survived many injuries and I am still proud to be a gymnast!
have you ever been in gymnastics half of the class is push ups sit ups v ups then they make u train with splits thats why there crying it not because they dont want to
Well Cause it hurts, It looks easy. Thats like navy seals right there. And They have to eat certain food. Excersize certain days and times. Its not easy
we have o do this since china kicked butt in the olympics .america never gives up regardless what and that makes us sooo proud .always working to the best .
god some of those frikin girls are crying and there damn coaching are like hurting them bending them the ways it hurts!!! well i know they have to do it right to win and stuff....but the crying!!! omg!!!!
is 14 too old to start gymnastics? I used to be in it from 6 to 8 but then droped out cus my family moved and never joined it again, And now I really miss it but think im too old :(
no your not, i did gymnastics when i was 5 and i stopped at 7 when i was 13 i did it again and it goes so much better than first =D go to the gym =D thats my advice ;)
i did gymnastics when i was 5 and my coach was Russian so she yelled at in Russian and i cried so my mom let drop out and try something else and we tried ballet witch i love but i had to stop after 12 years because my mom could not pay for it anymore.
I think the best way to go about this is for coaches to tell the girls and their parents right off the top: this is going to be HARD. It is not going to be EASY. The odds of you making it to the Olympics are lower than you getting run over by a streetcar. Now, if you still want to do it, let's get to work. If you don't, thanks for stopping by and if you hurry you can still make cheerleader tryouts at the school.

@1dancergirl who says gymnastics isnt a sport. ive never heard anyone say that if they say that to you stab them in the face. idiots gymnasts are among the greatest athletes in the world
The one in the red and black is great!!!! They work those little kids hard!!!! Those little kids can't be pushed like that. Lol one girl was picking her nose.. it was cute!!
the toughest and most graceful sport in the world! i do gym but am so far only in recreation though i do competitions and sometimes its really painful, the strength traing is worse than stretching though

I think you just set the record for the amount of thumbs-up on a comment!
I really wanted to do gymnastics when I was 6 but my Mom thought it was too competitive. She finally let me in when I was 11. 11! I could have been good. I could be in level 6 or something right now.
But no.
She ruined it for me. She wouldn't even let me try it out.
It's not too late!!! I started gymnastics when I was 11 and started out as a level4 now I am a 6. And relisically I know I won't ever be going to the Olympics but its veryfun and I like to see how far I'll get, It's never too late!!!
I started as late as age 13, you're not too late, I'm training everyday and I've learned all skills on my own, like handsprings, back walkovers without going to a gymnastic class, you can do it, just keep practicing at home too!
Otherwise, remember a) you are dealing with girls, who are emotional to begin with b) you are dealing with girls who, at the high levels especially, expect so much from themselves and often express frustration through tears when they can't get the perfection they desire and c) sometimes you get a spoiled brat that thinks crying is the way to "get out of" doing a skill, conditioning, etc.
I have seen unhealthy crying ONCE, and that kid did not belong in the gym - her mother pushed her but her hear wasn't in it, and I had a talk with the mother about how healthy it was for the kid to be there.
As a coach and ex-gymnast I can tell you that tears rarely mean something serious is wrong. Tears come mostly from frustration. I can attest to this - the only time I ever cried was when I couldn't make myself do what I wanted. Many times young children are allowed to cry at home and therefore try that route in the gym (to get out of work or to get pity) but once the child learns it does not work, you will rarely see a tear.
I´m from the netherlands and I like the music! I would like to have it fore my floor exersice but I can´t find it :S Could you please sent your music to me? If you want...
wow thats the best ive seen so far my friends r skaters n they get injured alot n sum of em think dat skateboarding is harder thin gymnastics (ima gymnast) so weve decided 2 try out each other shoes n i showed em dis vid 2 let dem c wat thurr up against they got it cummin 4 them
i don't care where you're training or who you are as a person, but if someone is in tears, something is wrong and it needs to be addressed right away. I never let my kids stay in tears. If the have a problem, I will stop their tears immediately. And if gymnastics keeps them in tears then I will have a meeting with their family to see if they should really continue. Gymnastics is hard but just like any other activity, excercise can be disquised as fun.
i disagree also, I think when you get to the high levels in gymnastics the tears are going to come at some point whether it be injury, coaches, or maybe fustration. But thats the beauty of the sport few people get to those high levels and it is a challenge to get there. This montage simply shows those challenges.
i still dont see why people say gymnastics is not a sport or its not the tuffest sport around, from training i saw in real life its horrible besides the fact that they cry they are tumbliing while havin injuries (pardon my spelling i jus lyk to type the "easy way" or slang xD) but yeah my point being that this is a tuff sport nuff said

I disagree. It shows how hard gymnastics can be emotionally. It has nothing to do with whether or not the sport is good or bad.

i don't care where you're training or who you are as a person, but if someone is in tears, something is wrong and it needs to be addressed right away.
