You probably should have mentioned the fact that it was based on the novel "The Iron Man" by Ted Hughes (former British Poet Laureate and husband of Sylvia Plath). In fact it was written after her death to comfort their children. I've read the book years ago as a kid but I still haven't seen the film... I may get on that.
