@supreamdude because the original myth says she STARTED OUT as beautiful. Once Athena's 'revenge' was taken against Medusa, she looked absolutely vile to make sure nobody would go after her again. Her hair was turned to snakes, and she was literally so ugly that whoever saw her face turned to stone. No powers and glowy eyes, just plain ugly.

The producer decided the latter bit, also look at Medusa, do you think someone wants to go after her?

Correct me if I'm wrong because this is how I perceived Medusa's situation: Poseidon raped her okay I got that part understood. Of course Athena was married to Poseidon so she was inraged when she saw them together, but Medusa looked to Athena for comfort. So Athena turned Medusa to a snake-woman so no man could ever rape her again, and whenever a man looked at her he turned to stone and also Medusa doesn't like men (due to her being raped) so she turns them to stone. But she can't harm women.

Mads Mikkelsen saved this movie from downfall. I strongly recommend Valhalla Rising! He doesnt say a word but his presence in this movie is simply great.

They made Medusa look lie tooootally cute, especially at the scene where he grabs the Jin, and he just laughs. Look at her facial expressions.

Also, the Jin can also be listed as the most badass characters in this film, because after he laughs into the face of death (literally) he just explodes.
