  • Arthur?

No father it is me, Henry

    awww Fuck!

  • He is such a player! I wonder if he went to heaven?

  • can someone tell me the title of the music played as the titles begin on this i've wanting to know for years

  • "Have a son. Achhhhhh." Probably not historically accurate, but entertaining none the less. Thanks for uploading!!!!! :)

  • mne ochen' nravitsa. spasibo!!!

  • SO GLAD TO SEE THIS HENRYVll HAS HIS ICONIC "HAIR OF COPPER" UNLIKE JONATHAN REYS MYER. HA HA

  • One of the things I like best about the whole Henry story is the irony of his single minded pursuit of a male heir, when Elizabeth turned out to be one of the strongest and most memorable rulers Britain has ever known. (with Victoria pretty much being the other one). So much for the boys...

  • I remember thism ovie and loved it, ray winston scared the shit out of me

  • Wow, great movie! This is wonderful after The Tudors

  • Also Henry VII looked like this when he died: marileecody dotcom henry7/henry7deathmask.jpg ... How hard would it have been to find an actor that looked LIKE him to belt out a few lines?

  • Henry VII absolutely didn't command his son to marry Katherine.... jeeeez

  • @mmurray1983 I do recall one historical documentary saying that Henry VIII CLAIMED his dad had said this, but it was likely that he hadn't- it was probably his own idea.

  • @mmurray1983 he did... say J.Guy and a variety of other historians more able than yourself

  • @garahehe Thank you for being insulting when telling me I was wrong. It is gratifying to know that the first Commandment of Youtube Commenting "thou shalt always be a dick" is still alive in some people. Keep the faith, man.

  • 5:40, fantastic bit of dialogue.

  • thanks for posting

  • i luv this movie so much ...........

  • ........................henry vii never told him o take katherine as his wife....infact he FORCED him to take back the engagement!! henry viii married her on his own after his father croaked!!! wtf?!?! historical inaccuracies strikes AGAIN!!! V_V;

  • @Tekirai Exactly. I'm glad I'm not the only who knows that. Also,

the king could have allowed Henry Fitzroy to succeed him if he wanted,

though the boy died young too.

  • @Brownlyne no problem

  • Assumpta Serna is wonderful as Queen Katherine!

I'm not so sure about Ray as King Henry, he speaks cockney!!!

  • henry the viii has to many wives for me and had tham killed

  • Oh Henry VII would know all about userping :/

  • oh stupid Henry VII, you buggered England up from that moment on lol

  • FitzRoy was also Earl of Nottingham

  • what year was this made?

  • 2003

  • "The King is dead [Give me your finger!!]...Long live the King." xD Oooh the irony of it all, but that's so funny.

  • laura, thank you for posting this fantastic docu-drama!

  • anybody know where i can download the music at 2:23

  • actually its the male that determines the sex .we men give the sperm that fertilize the eggs not the women. and he did have a son by Jane Seymour.

  • Epic Fail for Henry @0:45 . Look at the dad's face.... pure disappointment!!

  • imagine all of the sandwiches the king gets ;)

the wives should be in the kitchen more.

  • Thank you for posting!!

  • im royal blooded.

  • severals wive and no son, i can't imagine how upset he was

  • yes, yes.

    poor king henry the eighth.

I can't believe those damn wives wouldn't give him the sons he wanted. :/

  • its not like the wives chose to only have daughters yaknow

  • @vyohen omg I really hope that's sarcasm, lol

  • @vyohen Was probably his fault. LOL... BTW the male determines the sex of the child.

  • One major discrepancy already. Henry Fitzroy, the illegitimate son of the King, was born in 1519, ten years following the accession of Henry to the throne. In the movie, he is born fifteen years after Henry comes to the throne.

  • @laura265

    Who is playing Cardinal Wolsey?

    thanks

  • @jacquelineashlie21 I think David Suchet (Poirot)

  • Had every intention of watching this but find that I am unable to get past the ridiculous dying king scene. The dialogue is so cheesy!

  • I've never seen this before.

    Thank you for uploading.

    5*

    Greetings from germany,

  • thank you so much for uploading this.

  • Thanks for posting this!

Long live our 1000 year old monarchy!

  • OMG... assumpta serna is gorgeous!

  • thank you!!!!!!!

  • this is my favorite time period!!!

  • @PeaceLoveSmile4 this is my fav time period tooo it is like the tudors

  • @kimicub5923 Well, these are the Tudors haha.

  • @PeaceLoveSmile4 mine to except for the dieses

  • Hmmm... would men have really been allowed into the room while a woman was in labour?!?

  • yes. this was going on up to the time of princess diana. it was to ensure that the child was not swapped. royal blood was ensured, but eventually they became in-bred. it's spooky isn't it? but in those days royals were worshiped. times have changed. imagine if the news of the world wre reporting in henry's day.!!!!

  • The young Henry in the opening is the actor I wish could've been casted for The Tudors as the lead role for season one.

  • thank you so much for posting!

    I love Helena!

  • Henry sez: I iz da king, dey will do az i sez or loze their headz!!!!

    :-D

  • The servant is snitching on his lord. lol

  • Good start. Very dramatic. I have a feeling this is going to be a fast-paced film given the eventful, legacy it is following. Not too sure about Ray Winstone though, in his youth Henry was meant to be one of the most handsome princes in Europe. Winstone makes him look old and obese before his time.

  • Thank you! bUt why does Catherine's appperance always hae to be wrong(excpt in two productions) aww he thought Hnery was Arthur

  • The actor who plays young Henry VIII at the start is called Sid Mitchell. For a second is looked like Michell as in Keith!

  • I like how they actually start at the beginning, he says about keeping the Scots at bay - it was the wif he discarded, Catherine, who did that! Aww its sad when he thinks Henry is Arthur they should have showed Hnery and Catherine when they were young :(

  • i agree.i hate when stories start after the important parts

  • i luv helena bonham carter but hate who she plays anne boleyn. great acting though

  • thx so much 4 posting this!! yuu rule!!
