the physx option is impossible to use without a physx support card. i have mirrors edge for pc without a support card, and if i turned physx on and shot a eindow the frame rate is about 1 per second.
I have a question, this is really why I asked about speed of gameplay. I got the nvidia physx screen saver and it ran relatively smooth on my 8500gt, not Ideal but good.
I ran it on a PC with a 9600gt, expecting it to dominate it with a high framerate but it didn't.
Should you ever have to set the physx back to "off" from the start menu? I am wondering why it would have that option. Does it slow down your card for other games or something? Anyone know?
To bad the game lags like a bitch when PhysX is enabled, I just got the game today and I have an SLI setup with 8800 GTX 512 cards, the game drops to 10 fps whenever I enter a PhysX enhanced area...When I turn it off, the game is normal
Same here and for my brother. WE have the PhysX update, the new driver, and the patch for the game and when the glass shatters the game comes to a crawl no matter the system stats that you have. really buggy right now I guess.
I figured it out, its a software problem with the 8-series when it comes to SLI, apparently you have to disable SLI and run Physx on one card, and the game on the other.
But the new BETA drivers that Nvidia put out have fixed this issue
Excuses. Nvidia rapes ATI these days. They have to use a two card combo just to compete with the GTX 200 series cards. Pathetic ATI. Though you can get PhysX on an ATI card with software.
Even though it does make it look nice, it really doesn't make the game any more fun unless you could lay a whole city as big as the one shown here flat with your rocket launcher.
well good for you ! who cares ? i have my 8800 gts 512 and luckily i will be able to enjoy all this physx stuff and not you. i don't need to upgrade, and im happy with that, i dont regret the fact that i bought a nvidia graphics card more than a year ago, still allows me to play in very decent conditions
wow, so now you're the cool guy because you just repeated what i said against me, is that right ? i don't need a paror, go and play in your sandbox, and come back when you've grown up a little more ;)
I would guess the nVidia website.

How much would this slow down gameplay?
Does this run independent to other game physics engines?

How would we know if the card has support enough.

well it would be labeled as a nvidia physx video card.

Well, that would mean one of two things:
1. You're using pre-8xxx gpu's which means you need to upgrade anyway.
2. You're using ATI, and well... go buy an Nvidia card =]]
