  • In the Netherlands in the City Heerhugowaard : City of the Sun we have a Solar Island.

  • this will never actually be put into effect ANYWHERE, why? cause the biggest income of EVERY nation comes from utilities and they wouldn't willingly give that up, they already have the technology to completely remove the need for gasoline, or any fossil fuel but it will never be put into affect cause the governments of countries won't make money off of them

  • free from government....................will never happen in north america

  • @cornrows1978 that will never happen anywhere in this world !

  • Comment removed

  • it is sad that i live in north where there is no sun in winter, but in summers these culd be used all the time. hmmmmmm. i wonder, culd the electricyti be imported from countries where sun shines when there is kamos in the north?

  • i wonder if countries in sahara culd start to use this technology.

  • Clever nation, oh Japanese. i love the idea

  • this is not a step at all reducing the cost is a step.. the us gov and many others are researching printing those panels... that is a step

  • Now they will pitted glass from radioactive particles.

  • Japan: Fucked

  • @Spitefox , it is you who was fucked.

  • They might light up in the dark soon due to Fukushima

  • solar city... lol NOT ANYMORE!!

  • @wallmarthobo No one else is laughing but you kid!!!!!!!!!

  • Sadly, all can be destroyed by a single earthquake :(

  • Wow, what a shame that they have a solution to the problem, but the only thing standing in the way is money. The monetary system is evil. STARVE THE SYSTEM...join the movement.

  • @angelablass , you are right. The modern history is full of craps created by the Rothchilds, who have been establishing central bank with a power to print money out of nothing.

  • @loveyoufolks Yep, sadly they aren't the only evils out there either. There's more than we all care to admit, but it's time they all come to light so they can be prosecuted by the people, but we all know that won't happen. Not in our lifetime anyway. KILL THE MONETARY SYSTEM & U KILL THEIR POWER. It'd b beneficial for communities to barter & create a sustainable agriculture right where they live. The elite know this, so they are doing all they can not to allow it. Bastards!

  • if you really want to make something work here it is take a parabolic solar concentrator and send light into a mirrored cone shape focal point then send that light into mirrored glass tubing which will send the light into a mirrored box with solar panels in it the solar panels must be cooled by spinning or cooling system.now get to work

  • @kennethvanhorn does it actually work? got any videos

  • Fuck global warming

  • @ntn1987 dude, solar power takes global warming, bends it over, and rapes it with its own shit

  • Middle east will not like this. Let's call for the celestial beings! tennn nenennnn tene ne neeeeh nenennnnnn! hah!

  • Instead of the extremely high priced and energy costly silicon cells, they should use sulfur cells.

  • the speaker is the well mannered cousin of ren hoek.

  • I don't understand would it out way the energy and carbon costs that come out of the production of the solar panels?

  • @KriegPhilosophy

It's once it's installed it really does pay off very well. There are other alternative energies that are even free too.

  • @Dimitri0809 No, as in the the carbon footprint and power taken to process the aluminium, transport it and then produce the Solar panels.

  • This is awesome!!

  • I met a lady who had that installed in her house in Tokyo. She invested something over 1,000,000 yen in a few solar panels, and while she was lead to believe she would be getting around 10,000 yen back a month in negative energy, she said it's more like 1,000 yen. I think this story is nice but paints the situation with far too rosy glasses - in other words, the people who can afford to move into this kind of community are pretty freakin' well off already.

  • @Bennybnyhc Great point, AND you have to replace the panels when they break. Hail storm wouldn't be good.

  • @Bennybnyhc Not necessary well off but smart investors. You see, you are forgetting to calculate the original savings of not having an electrical bill in the first place. There is no doubt, at least here in the USA, that solar pays for itself in the long run. However, if you are like your friend and you think you are actually going to create an income by putting solar panels then you will end up disappointed.

  • negative balance on electricity bills, that's exactly what everyone needs

  • The way of the Future

  • LOL i luv japan they are always one step ahead. But Africa need this kind of Solar power seriously

  • @amasuEnd

As long as developed countries support Africa in doing that. Don't push developing African countries to purchase solar panels. The reason why they're still using fossil fuel for power generation is because it's much cheaper than solar power.

  • Nice.

  • great video. lets do this to africa

  • i cant believe the US. does not do this? they get free solar panels and get to sell extra energy they dont need >:(

  • screw aestetics

  • And to think, these solar panels are very inefficient. Not far in the future, they will become much more efficient, and thus make it viable for everybody.

  • cool. one more step to utopia.

  • Oh awesome. Someday, I might end up spending the rest of my life in Tokyo.

  • is this gonna work in england? 8)

  • Yeah it can although people think it won't work in the UK because we do not have enough 'sunshine'. All you need is light energy and some heat energy, these two create the output for electrical energy.

  • thats cool

  • only in remtoe areas and in the countryside.solar panel mess up the nice emblematic victorian and art deco art of most buildings. I cannot see those flat things anywhere in the capital.

  • Well you might as well say that art deco "messes up" the emblematic curvilinear motifs of its art nouveau and Victorian predecessors and that you 'cannot stand to see those bolder and glossier things anywhere in the capital'. I'm sure if you're around the 50's you would've said something similar and be like "wow pop art messes everything up".

You probably never heard of sustainable architecture.

  • lmao he didnt misspell it wrong. he misspelled it.

  • the narrator is japanese who knows how to speak english yu idiots!

  • Given as his last name is Wong, he's not Japanese...

  • Wait a second, 2 million Yen= $20,000

That's has to be wrong, 2 million Yen should equal ruffly $200,000.

  • No. $20,000 is correct. Also, you misspelled roughly wrong.

  • Do you think I give a shit if I spelled roughly wrong? Why in the the hell does the misspelling of one word have any relevance to what I said, considering it did nothing to determine the legibility of the sentence? Did you just throw that little piece in there as a filler, or did you just do it in spite of my inaccuracy?

  • Shut up.

  • احنا بالكويت عندنا اقوى شمس و المال الكثير

اشفيها حكومتنا مو قادرة توزع على الناس الخلايا الشمسية ؟

  • You are an idiot. I wouldn't copy and paste that because "don't this makes you angry?" is how I'd expect a 3 year old to talk or type. Learn some fucking English, and stop dissing Asia for being more innovative than your country, you stupid bastard.

  • its Japan fucktard, you wont be losing a job because people buy products from asia, its because your an idiot.

  • Very good way for energy

Its worth it to have those things if you live in a truly sunny place

Although i hope those solar panels store a large amount of energy so the family doesnt get black outs at night

  • 5,000 yen isnt that just 50us $??

  • dont get me wrong i think the world should be doing this but

  • haha i didnt realize they told you in the video anyway

  • 1.00 USD = 95.88 JPY so ...

    5,000.00 Japanese Yen = 52.15 US Dollar

  • And why does the US govt. not try this? Hmmm.....

  • Because their US goverments ?

  • if it takes 10 to 20 years to payback, thats the same as 5% to 10% return on investment...

  • which is way better than a savings account

  • so the solution might be to make the investment at different stages and at little scale?

  • i may be mistaken ,but does the narrator have a german accent .Please answer .

  • more like a spanish accent

  • israeli

  • Realli?

  • Australian you nutter

  • I'm almost certain it's a brazilian accent.

  • It is an Australian Accent

  • if you think that commentary is Australian than you have no clue on Australia. It doesn't not sound Australasian at all!

  • it's more of australian.

  • Its not about being eco friendly hype its all about saving money! which is great! hope this technology gets cheaper for worldwide use!

  • yea it costs to much in the US

  • solar cost too much for the regular joe

  • Solar dye is a new technology that doesn't use silicon and cost 10% the current panels. It can be painted onto roof tiles, siding and even windows. It's probably still a couple years from our doorstep though.

  • Cool (SlaveStorm) I am going to check out (Solar Dye) by doing a google search. It sounds good to me. Anything that makes alternative energy cheaper to purchase is okay by me, because then it makes it touchable for us regular people & not just for the rich.
