It is sad that the girl from american Idol a few years back said meatloaf is out of tune and out of pitch a bad singer. I wonder what happened to her. I think Meatloaf is one of the best singers around and will be since we have lost Freddie, Micheal and other greats have retired.

You can watch the orchestra musicians and tell that THEY aren't synching, which means that the singers aren't either. Oh, and btw, look at Meat's throat. You don't do that when simply synching; he's belching it out.

I agree with you sahar. who cares if its synched or live. The song itself is epic. If you cant establish whether Meat is singing this live or not, then that shows you how good a singer he is. I honestly think Meat is singing while Marion is the one who is lip syncing. Meatloaf has too much raw power and energy inside himself to just blow it away into thin air like that. He is the best live vocal performer i have ever seen live.

They're lip syncing. If you play the actual song against it, it matches, its the same song just with some bits taken out to make the song shorter and they add their own touch to some parts i think.

I dont think this a recording/lip sync performance, cos at the end they hit a different note, and in one of the parts your hear Meats voice start up again. And that part isnt in the recording. His voice carries with Marions, but in this performance he starts up again while Marion holds/sustains the high note.

Wow, I didn't know that. I thought that the difference in their voices from the the studio version meant that this was live. Silly me, I shouldn't have spent all that time listening so closely to both recordings, when I could have just asked someone like you - who knows all about it because she's from the same country as one of the singers - and saved myself the trouble. Sometimes he sings well, sometimes he doesn't. All singers have off days, it happens when you're nervous which he was with McPhee. So Meat Loaf can sing this well live, I suspect he is lip-synching here, just look up Cry Over Me Meat Loaf and find him performing Bat Out of Hell on dancing with the stars and tell me he can't sing
