True but engagement factors such as video, polls, social interactivity, etc... on a website will be one of many factors that Google looks at for rankings, not just video rankings, website rankings, page rankings, etc...

Where do people search for video? YouTube. Not on a brand website. Guess which videos are featured most in Google? Not those on your own site, but those on a video sharing site. Reason-why is simple - there is a community behind those sites...
