The styling of the 1 series, especially the hatch, has a subtle, almost subliminal look and feel of the very early, old BMWs from like the 40's.

Its very bulgy, with a large windshield, slightly aggressive and seems larger than it is, serious yet modern. It just reminds me of those big old BMW's. As much as I don't like those old types of cars, I like this one.

I love the idea of a small luxury car but I think the interior should be better!!! I don't know if that on the gear leaver is plastic, but it feels like it!!! and I hope to see every new bmw model with digital TV as an extra, it's fantastic for entertain the passengers!

I feel the back glass hatch area should of slanted a bit more like the E36 compacts.

And why did they go Japan with the window buttons on the door! Thats a small but significant interior driver-centric feature to keep those buttons for your loose shifting hand.
