i bought the 450 today w/ a 20" bar. The reason i didnt pay the extra 30 bucks for the 455 was because it weighs 2 more pounds and not a big difference in power.

I bought a refurbished 455r last year as well for a little over $200. It is a wonderful saw and has been great to me. I would highly recomend it. Like said before, it handles the 20" bar quite well.

Got a 455r (refurb) about 1 month back. I know it's not top-of-the-line, but don't care- it's a beast. Handles 20" bar buried in oak.
The stratified-scavenging ("x-torq") really cleans up its "breath" and reduces fuel consumption. Essentially stops charge short-circuiting from transfers to exhaust.

@billpissonyou I used to have a little Vermont Castings woodstove that needed to have logs cut that short.

Just bought a new 445 Xtorq. It was between this saw and the MS180. I'm a new used and wanted someting small to learn. Hopefully I have made the right choice.

Ehh bad choice.you should have bought the ms180 ported the muffler and piston and put an 18in bar on it

Well I got a used MS341 2 days ago, brand new bar+chain and I am still waiting to be impressed by the saw. It cuts a bit faster than my 445 but not much. It is heavier too. Hopefully the 341 will last longer than my 445 or I'll be pissed. I'll let you know in 10 years if Youtube still exists...
