this is all b.s. we are in our 20th century and you all are still trying to prove joseph smith wrong with a revelation of god. let him be and he is the one who blessed our people with the word of our heavenly father and jesus christ. have faith in god and jesus christ not joseph smith made up stories.
man did more damage to the earth and to himself with idiotic beliefs that still carry on through the centuries than dinosaurs did millions of years ago. But man will never learn and still carry on with stupid beliefs that will only lead to more damage. I hope and pray for extinction. And there are 6,660 views right now so watch out believers.
Mormons believe some pretty outlandish things, i know this being baptized into the church (Though i'm no mormon). But what's this about Christians being less crazy? They believe in a talking snake. That we all are the product of incest. And when it comes to the bible there may not be any Revision so to speak, but the Bible is like an anthology. they are always finding new books and new passages and adding on. this is kind of worse than a revision, because the bible contradicts itself constantly.
I'm not a Mormon and I definitely don't agree w/ LDS teachings, but to suggest Mormons are part of a plot to take over the world is a bit absurd. Maybe it's possible that the LDS church is wealthy because they have good businessmen who must apply at least some level of Biblical ethics to their work as many evangelical Christians do.
Godmakers 2 is trash and every evangelical should join me in condemning it as an insult to the *real* honest work being done in the countercult community.
Important to note that what we know today as the bible also has undergone 'numerous revisions' over 2000 years, more than the book being criticised here.
@RRRRRaa Evidence of numerouos BoM and D&C revisions can be proved easily. Where is your proof about "numerous revisions" in the Bible? There is no such proof.
@RRRRRaa Evidence of numerouos BoM and D&C revisions can be proved easily. Where is your proof about "numerous revisions" in the Bible? There is no such proof.
MORMONISM IS NOT A CHRISTIAN RELIGION! BE CAREFUL THAT YOU ARE NOT LEAD INTO THE DECEPTION OF THIS PROVEN FALSE RELIGION!
I read this book and highly recommend it for everyone who is looking in to this blasphemous religion that can take your soul to hell. The author grew up in the Mormon Church and it is a completely FALSE RELIGION!
Arm yourselves! Read the book: “CAN MITT ROMNEY SERVE TWO MASTERS? The Mormon Church Versus The Office Of The Presidency of the United States of America”
"Jesus shed his blood as an infinite sacrifice, but there are some sins that the blood of Jesus cannot atone for, and therefore it requires the shedding of that man's blood to atone."
This man simply doesn't know what "infinite" means. You can't have something that's both infinite AND finite.
Well, that and he's blind to true, basic Christian doctrine.
why not say what you know is actually true.. have you ever read the book of mormon before and what basis do you sum the church to be on the contrary of christianity.
@imbiased....brilliant question. " If you do not agree with the Christian fundamental beliefs why try to claim you are in the same group? The Jehovah's Witnesses and Catholics do the same thing."
Just curious: why were the magic tablets translated by Joseph Smith into 17th century English when Joseph Smith lived and spoke in 19th century America? Are we to believe that the Book of Mormon was translated into Elizabethan English by the "seeing stone". ABSURD!
OK. I understand that the LDS church makes alot of money, but it can't make more than the catholic church. In fact it seems to me that the mormons follow the same business model as the rest of christianity.
pass that plate and kick up your vig. be good reverant and complacent sheeple. pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.
why does everyone judge us mormons 4? we dont go out telling everyone catholic's are bad or fake OMG in fact we are christians you dont come 2 our churches and see us worshippin satan or another GOD do yuh? dont be quick 2 judge bcuz no1 is perfect :)
@vanityboy97 As a matter of Fact you do worship another God, it is not the Judea-Christian God of the Bible but in fact different altogether. This means you are NOT christian. Mormons deny many of the fundamental Christian beliefs. If you do not agree with the Christian fundamental beliefs why try to claim you are in the same group? The Jehovahs Witnesses and Catholics do the same thing. You claim to be the one true church and yet do not follow Gods word but instead change and pervert it.
@imbiased In a way you are correct -- yes, we do worship another God, but it's the correct god. Christian fundamentalists believe in a God put together by man's doctrine. The Nicean Creed is a bunch of lies! It's incredible that so many churches follow it. Study the background of the council of Nicea and you will be shocked.
@imbiased Your Protestant sectarian cult is just as blasphemous and heretical as Mormonism, Jehovah's Witness, SDAs, Pentecostalism, etc. Your cult is basically Crypto-Nestorian because you, just like the Nestorians, reject the doctrine of the Theotokos which is clearly taught in the Bible, Luke 1:43. If you reject this doctrine, you also reject the doctrine of the Incarnation. For that reason, you are not Christian, not one bit. The Orthodox Christian Church is the only unchanged Church.
@magnus56j Oh so i get it, because 'you guys' determined something early on you must be the ones who got it ALL right in the first place! Do you worship and pray to Mary?
@imbiased Of course not! Worship, adoration, and prayer is reserved for God alone. Worship of Mary has always been vehemently condemned by the Orthodox faith. An example of this is when the heresy of Collyridianism arose in the fourth century. The Orthodox Church condemned Collyridianism as dangerously heretical. However, we do honor (not adore) Mary because God honored her to give birth to His eternal Son, and Jesus honored Mary as his mother, following the fourth commandment.
@imbiased To add, we call her blessed because Mary herself declares that "all generations will call me blessed" Luke 1:48. Orthodox Christians, following Scripture, always call her blessed. We also ask for Mary's intercession, because she, like all other Christians are members of Christ's body and one another (Rom 12:5 and many others). We ask the intercession of the saints and each other because we are called to unite ourselves to the one mediator Christ, by praying for all men, through Christ.
@magnus56j Yes that it! Ill ask the saints to intercede on my behalf! Because Jesus did teach that we can oray to others didnt he? John 14:6 & hey, trying to manipulate God by asking others to pray for you, well God will be like "gawd dawgy ok if magnus56j is alright with Mary din hes alright with me, ill grant that dar prayer request of his!"
Dude are you so spiritual proud that you cannot see past the nonsense you are saying? the Luke quotes you made are so far out of context is ridiculous.
@imbiased You must have done your so-called research with both eyes closed. An unbaptised emperor deciding he's going to take the Christian church under his wing and bring in some men to decide the nature of God, among other things? And what they came up with is not supported by scripture -- because the creed is false.
@heyman537 Still waiting for the lies you reference. As for Constantine, he cared nothing about what was decided at the council, he simply wanted to consolidate Christianity so that he may control it. Here you will find the roots of the paganistic Catholic Church.
Now in terms of things decided, there were none. The council met to agree on things as doctrine, not to invent them. The council was a response primarily on their part to refute Arianism which denied the deity of Christ.
@imbiased There were two different philosphies on the nature of God that were before the people at Nicea. The uninspired people voted on the more wrong one.
@heyman537 yah well Joe Smith founded MORmONISM by trashing Traditional Xtianity, by really trashing on & attacking catholicism, NOW the LDS INC empire is simply a Utah version of everything Joe attacking in catholocism! MORmONISM is EVIL , a JOKE & not Xtian!
@heyman537 Then why do you even accept the New Testament? The canon of the New Testament (and Old Testament) wasn't determined until 393 AD by Orthodox Bishops at the Council of Hippo, which was after the Council of Nicaea. Yet, you (along with the Fundamentalists!) accept the canon of the New Testament exactly as the Orthodox Church defined it at the Council of Hippo. It is so contradictory for you to accept the canon of the New Testament, yet reject the authority of the Orthodox Church.
@vanityboy97 Actually Bruce R. McConkie in the 1st edition of Mormon Doctrine did say that the catholic church was the whore of all the Earth. Also, early LDS leaders did speak negatively about orthodox christianity.
its not talking about false idols and false gods, if you read it the distinction between false idols and god is made clear. why would god say he is the god of gods? i have been brave, ive been brave enough to go to school everyday, look at all these kids with so many religions, and know that not one teaches the the true gospel. non have a prophets, non are even set up like the church jesus had established when he was on the earth, do you believe god loves you? then why do you believe he would
it speaks of jesus, doesnt speak of them as being one. let me share with you these things. Maybe we cannot become like god(a god) because he doesnt posses the power to create a celestial offspring, its beyond his present of comprehension and intelligence. ofcourse thats bull because hes all knowledge and power! perhaps god does not create such an offspring because he does not LOVE us, ofcourse thats not true for he so LOVED the WORLD that he gave his only begotten son. perhaps god does not
@imbiased i will go in order as i hear this1.the lds church is a christian church they believe in god. 2 joseph smith did get everything right in the book of mormon, you want proof look up the city of nahom which was discovered in the 90's by non lds russians, in 1 nephi ch 16 v 24 they buried ishmael in the land of nahom. look up hard evidence of the book of mormon here on youtube, since when has the lds church ever pressured someone to divorce! that is the most stupidest thing ive ever heard!!
@Laxlife221 oh yah! a new account that was opened on the same day that you came here and took a shot at the God Makers video = typical BS MORmON apologetic antics in action. you forgot the part where you are supposed to insist that ppl only check with active MORmONS to find out about the MORmON church. Is it the fact that the GM video is inaccurate that bothers you, or is it the fact that it totally NAILS the REAL sick twisted nature of the LDS corporation. you are DISGUSTING !
@firstbaldwin actually no i did this to talk to black hebrew Israelites and you popped up. the act is you dont nail the mormon religion at all. In what way does this nail the mromon religion, prove to me that this religion is false, prove to me the book of mormon is false, you want archaeological facts ill give it to you, prove to me in the bible that the book of mormon is false, it states in the bible the book of mormon will be written!
@Laxlife221 it talks about the Chevy Vega in the bible much more than it specifically talks about the POS BOOK of MORmON. The Bible does talk about MORmONISM -in generalities that there will be EVIL PPL doing EVIL works. I could prove the BOM false but its not my job, b/c this is something else you BONEHEAD MORmONS dont get, IT ISNT MY JOB B/C THE BURDEN OF PROOF IS ON YOU(I DONT DEMAND $ in the name of God like LDS INC does) & YOU DONT HAVE ANY PROOF! you have NOTHING! MORmON !
@firstbaldwin would you be regarding to how inside the mormon religion we pay thithing of one tenth? you know there is tithing in the bible used, its actually as direct as saying one tenth as we do today. heb ch 7 verse 1-4, genesis ch 28 verse 22. cmon post some more stuff about the mormon religion ill put stuff straight out of the bible and show how it goes in hand with our religion as well as the book of mormon.
@Laxlife221 you said you dont demand money like the lds church does. you were referring to tithing which is what we call it. ( paying one tenth of our increase to the church) I said read heb ch 7 verse 1-4, genesis ch 28 verse 22. both referring how the bible does the same. why should this time( 21st century) be any different.
@Laxlife221 (you responded to yourself) Tithing does not save you. Nothing YOU do saves you. Its not under your control. The ritualistic movements and ceremonies and handshakes and lifestyles do not save you. Can you no read the Bible and receive Gods word?
@imbiased is it not by grace and works that we are saved? why are you bringing all this other stuff in. i pay tithing for blessing and to help build more temples. do you not pray to reciecve blessing? commit a good act? anything that is deemed good in the eyes of god do you not seek after these things??? yes i do read the bible, its all ive read the past 30 or so days.
@imbiased yes grace is what saves us. but what is faith? is it just something we have? faith without works is dead. that is where our own personnel works come in. how much grace is applied to us? the better the works the more of the fullness of the kingdom of heaven is opened to us. Rom ch 1 v. 5-7 talks of obedience to the faith. Revelation ch 20 v 12 is really good actually talking about being judged by their individual works. Matthew ch 16 v 27. again rewarded by our WORKS,
@Laxlife221 Yes faith without works is dead. When we are saved our hearts are called to do works for God. Works can be as simple as just reading the Bible and knowing scripture. Works have nothign to do with what YOU think you should do.
Obedience is not works, you are not rewarded for doing what your supposed to do, ie.tithe. You will however be, and already are, judged by God for adding to the works of the Holy Scripture with the book of Mormon et al.
@imbiased adding the book of mormon with the bible is not bad. especially since it wasnt man who added it. And are you saying that we will not be rewarded for our works in the afterlife? pretty sure the bible says so, start here with 2 corninthians ch 5 verese 10. this states will be judged AFTER death, not now. 1 corninthians ch 15 verse 40-42 depicts degrees of heaven. so again read these past scriptures with the ones ive added. obedience is works, going beyond is even better
@imbiased works actually have everything with what we think we should do. IS robbing a store a good or bad work? is going to church a good or a bad work? same for prayer? same for sinning? these are works and we will be judged according to these works.
@Laxlife221 But you are doing works to receive something, this is a selfish motivation. I do the dishes so that my wife will not have to, not because i want to EARN her love. She already loves me. I do it because I LOVE her.
I give money to the church because I love God and want his will done through the Church missionaries. If its not done with love then its dead. What is your motivation? To do Gods will? Or are you trying to earn "Faith Tokens" with your actions to spend in heaven?
@imbiased Im actually an 19 year old kid preparing to spend two years of my life serving the lord. Im putting in my own money to do this. works is something that we will be judged on, regardless of your purpose for doing it its a biblical fact that we will be judged on it. So my question is, what is that judgement for?
@Laxlife221 Is your mother receiving flowers from me a pleasant thing? She likes flowers so why not?
But if I give them to her because I wish to lead her away from your father into adultery then my PURPOSE for giving her the flowers if wicked!
Do you believe that God would know my purpose even if your mother did not? MY motivation would be impure and God will know this and judge me for this for God judges the heart. Acts are important but without love they are empty. Why are you doing it?
@imbiased again i ask what is god judging us for? the purpose for the after life? if we all get the same thing in the afterlife then why does he need to judge us?
@Laxlife221 We are judged by our deeds but God knows the heart so be sure your motivations are pure. Your deeds are empty if they are not out of love for God and others.
@Laxlife221 When i wrote deeds i was referring to works. So you giving tithe and going on your mission is great if you feel God has really called you to do it. But if you are doing it because you think your parents want you to or because you think its the right thing to do I would really consider you pray about it. I would encourage you to open your heart and mind in prayer and ask God to reveal himself to you and what his plan is for you.
@imbiased I honestly do, im the one paying for my mission, my parents have no say in what i do. i really feel that Roseville callifornia is where i need to be. im running into so many people that are from there and have so many ties there. its where i need to be. btw have you ever tried cutting paper with only 1 side if the scissors? kinda hard. kinda like grace and works, Jesus died on the cross for our sins, we have the ability to repent for our sins right? so have you? thats works my friend
@imbiased actually i was asking if you do, which you do so that is good your taking advantage of what christ did. now he died on the cross for our sins, gave us the ability to repent and return to heaven. heres where the grace is, he died on the cross for our sins. but we have to repent for our sins, so im asking you is repenting for our sins works or just something else? well it is works.
@Laxlife221 Repenting is acknowledging our sin and turning away from the sin. Please point to scripture that refers to us being in Heaven prior to our birth.
@imbiased so you are saying that us acknowledging our sin and turning away from it isnt a work? are you also saying helping your neigbor isnt a work then? your faith, your testimony? are these now works either. and you do believe we were in heaven before we were on earth? at least someone has their head screwed on straight.
@imbiased exactly repentance is a work, the grace is our ability to do this because of the atonement. read jer ch 1 verse 5, titus ch 1 verse 2( meaning we would of had to been alive in spirit to know this promise). job ch 38 verse 7( what were we, the stars, shouting for? the plan he had set for us)
Isaiah 45:5 I am the LORD, and there is NONE else, there is NO God beside ME: I girded thee, though thou hast NOT known me: 6 That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.
@imbiased so do you know what girded means? it means prepare, or also tying a belt around someone. this is also saying we did not now him, it is not saying we were not alive in spirit before alive in the flesh. as supported by my previous scriptures. also r4ad hebrews ch 12 verse 9, its saying as we have a father in the flesh( my dad), we have a father of our spirits,( GOD)
@Laxlife221 Girded means to bind, nothing to do with prepare.
Clearly God tells us there is no God besides himself. And yes, God the Father is a spiritual being. This means we are all spirit babies?
here's another one for you.
Isaiah 44:8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.
@imbiased see i think your switching subjects cause i really am not getting it. First of god the father is in the flesh and bones, he is not a spirit. if christ Resurrection in a body why would god only be in spirit? Christ and god are not the same people, they are two separate beings as well as the holy spirit. not one but 3 different. and there are 4 or more different definitions of girded if you type it into google. and even if he was meaning bind and not prepare it still holds the same value
@Laxlife221 Jesus Christ said in John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. <-- Jesus says God is spirit.
Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: <---- The trinity is revealed.
In these following 3 scriptures Jesus refers to himself as the same I AM that God the father refers to himself as in Exodus 3:14.
@imbiased its says god is spirit, not god is a spirit, our bodies have a spirit, we worship his spirit. its like people saying jesus was black, no where in the bible does it say he was black but says his feet were bronze as if burned in a furnace which could suggest he was dark but does not say he was. matt 28:19 is reffering to how we do baptisms, yes mormons baptize in the father, the son, and the holy ghost, all separate. those last 3 scriptures have absolutely nothing to do with exodus
@imbiased its christ referring to himself, its not logical if you think of logic that god is christ. god doesnt just reveal himself but to a few people now a ton of nations. but they are separate. and if god is christ like you believe, then who is in heaven, and also if you say god and christ are the same then that would be god does have a body of flesh and of bones. these two ideas contradict each other if it is what you truly believe.
@Laxlife221 The reason the pharisees wanted to kill Jesus was because he referred to himself as 'the son of man' as referenced in Daniel and I AM (hayah in Hebrew or ego in Greek) as referenced in Exodus which is saying he is God.
Jesus is the Son, he is at the right hand of the fathers throne, and he went there, as he said in John 16:7 so that the holy spirit could come here.
Who among us has the power to forgive sin? None but God. Jesus forgave sins.Mark 2:5-11 You do the math.
@imbiased so you are saying he stands at the right hand of god yet your saying he is god. these arent the same. in spirit yes they are like the same but not really the same, he was the co creator, he can forgive sin. but he and god are two different beings. in the bible it also says god is love, god is light. are these also saying he is these, its merely saying these are traits he has. god is spirit yes, we worship him in spirit as our spirits do, not in flesh. we are to become like him, this
@Laxlife221 No this in no way suggests that we would become Gods. You pull that out of thin air. I have read John and Exodus. Jesus is at the right hand of God the Father. It says we are to make man in our image, confirming the trinity, this is why it is plural. Exodus 1:26 does not say The GodS said, it says God said. Meaning ONE God & then refers to itself, God, in plural, indicating this is the trinity that is God.
Read John 1:1-5. This is speaking of Jesus, part of the trinity of God.
@imbiased perhaps god has not planted within us the divine spark because he wants to retain godhood for himself, he is threatened by our progress, he can only retain his superiority by asserting our inferiority. but ofcourse have you ever known a father who did not want his children to become all and more than what he has become? never have i ever met someone that wants less for his child!
@Laxlife221 You should read all of 1 Corinthians 8 & Deuteronomy 10. It is referring to idol worshipers and false Gods. There is but one God, he is called Elohim. This is a plural name for a singular God. He is the creator of everything.
Are you brave enough to open your mind and heart to God and ask him to reveal to you the truth? Are you brave enough to look at the truth and accept it? I know its scary, your entire lief and family is on the line. Have faith in God and he will deliver you.
@imbiased did you read the other big response i wrote i responded to the video not the comment on accident. and thats exactly what im saying! he hasnt, there is a prophet on the earth today!!
@Laxlife221 God has not left me blind because I chose to acknowledge the truth. God has revealed to me the truth. The truth is Jesus. Read your Bible, it is the word of God. The rest of your (Mormon) books have nothing to do with the Bible.
Joseph Smith says the Bible is not enough, he says you need these other (Mormon) books which contradict the Bible. I tell you, the Bible is enough. Jesus is the Truth, the life and the way! He says cleave to him for his burden is light.
@imbiased actually our "mormon books" do hahahaha, i can take literally everything from it and cross reference it with the bible so thats dumb to say. The bible is not enough, you say all this stuff of your believe in god yet you chose to disbelieve in the need for continual truth. the clearly the bible is not enough if there are still people that dont believe in god, can you believe that there are people out there in the world who havent even heard the word jesus or what hes done, not enough
@imbiased read these and tell me what you think. isaaiah 29, ezekial ch 37 verse 16 to end. amos ch 3 verse 7. we need prophets to know gods secrets!mark ch 11 verse 28-33, we need the priesthood and the proper authority to be given the priesthood, be called to preach the gospel. meaning a pastor would need to be called by the proper authority and not make a living out of it.
@Laxlife221 Deuteronomy 18:21And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? 22When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
U T L M .org has a lot of documentation regarding the false prophets and teachings of Mormonism in their own words and writings.
@imbiased the thing is simply put these arent false prophets, we need prophets. nothing is never enough. i know a great deal about christ life and his works, but im always searching for more. and when i find something new its such a blessing and i continue to search for more knowledge, my body may grow but i want my spirit to grow with it. i need guidance and direction. my spirit needs it.
@Laxlife221 If you claim to be a prophet and speak prophetically on behalf of God and the things you speak of do not come to pass then you are not a prophet of God. The Mormon "Prophets' have repeatedly made false prophecies and therefore, according to the Holy Bible, which I hold to be the living Word of God, the Mormon prophets are false prophets and therefore I will not listen to them just like I do not listen to the Jehovah's witness who claim to be prophets and speak false prophecies.
@Laxlife221 According to the Bible I only need one, Doctrine and Covenants, 127:2. 2 years later he died by the hand of his enemy. But if this does not satisfy you then you should question your faith in the Bible.
If you really want more I have them. Most importantly friend, know that God loves you, seek him out, ask him the truth and he will show you.
@imbiased hahaha baptisms for the dead? so how to people who have died without being baptized get baptized? 1 corinthians ch 15 verse 29, 1 peter ch 4 verse 6, 1 peter ch 3 verse 18-20
@Laxlife221 Im not sure where you came up with Baptism for the dead in Doctrine and Covenants, 127:2 but I was referring to his prophecy that reads "I shall triumph over all my enemies, for the Lord God hath spoken it." Well God apparently did not speak it because he did not triumph over his enemies. He died at the hands of his enemies.
Did you read my response to your statement that the Bible is not enough? You sound like the rich man in Luke 16:19-31. Read it. let God speak to you.
@imbiased because thats what that sections about. but his enemies didnt conquer him? he accomplished his what he was supposed to do, he established the church, he helped translate the book of mormon, and so many other things. these things which his enemies were trying to stop him from doing. he accomplished it. god can speak to me, he lets his truth be known through the spirit. but there is a need for prophets and proper teachings. its not like christ coming to the earth was the end we still
@imbiased need the truth. we need church, we need spiritual growth, if the bible is enough then why do we need to go to church and why do we need to pray. there is never enough that you can get from god. never enough. what we do on this earth will never fully be enough to fully please god but we must do all we can and grace does the rest.
@Laxlife221 The Church is for fellowship and is good, but it is not necessary to be saved. Spiritual growth is good, but it does not save us. Prayer is good, but we do not need it to be saved. As you pointed out, what WE do here will not satisfy God but what JESUS did does satisfy God and it saves us.
We must simply do Gods will, not our own. And ONLY grace saves us. Nothing that we do can save us. As for your responsibility, Read Luke 10:25-28.
@imbiased church is for fellowship? so you go to church for the people not the worship? i mean i like talking to the girls there but i go strictly for th worship part. so let me get this straight, your saying all these 'works" church and all this stuff is good but doesnt help. so then why did christ come to the earth and let himself be known to everyone in the world, why do we need the bible. if he was here to die for our sins and we are only saved by grace then why would he just come here
@imbiased and fly under the radar, not TEACH his gospel to people, set up the priesthood, set up HIS church. if my soul is already saved by grace along with everyone elses then why did he need to do all those things. why couldnt we along with the rest of the world do whatever the heck we want not knowing about god if in the end we are saved with grace and the fact that i did slightly more or less works or lived a better or worse life than someone else would be meaningless.
@Laxlife221 Your right, Church is for worship, but also for fellowship since i can worship at home. I did not say that you do not need to follow Jesus teachings or commandments, what I am saying is that simply doing things, what you consider to be works, does NOT save you.
You can do nothing to save yourself, that is why Jesus said in John 6:65 He went on to say, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled them.” God must reveal himself to you. Ask him!
@Laxlife221 You keep implying that I do not think works are relevant. Faith without works is dead because works are the fruit of your faith. You miss my point entirely. If I go to church, tithe and help my neighbors, all of those things are done in vain if they are not done with sincerity and love.
Do you understand this?
And works DO NOT SAVE you. Jesus does. Works are simply the fruits of your faith.
@imbiased you are, if we are saved by grace then works are irrelevant and mean absolutely nothing. obviously all thee "works" are done with sincerity. i do them because they are a commandment. we are supposed to do these things.
@Laxlife221 Works are not irrelevant. We are saved by the works of Christ, not ourselves. The works we do are the fruits of our faith in Christs work, in the salvation he freely gives.
Do you buy your mothers a gift on mothers day? Is that the fruit of your love or do you do it because you are told to?
What if I bought your mother a gift? Is she my mother too? No. Will my gift mean the same to her as her own sons gift? Of course not, I am a stranger to her, you are her child. Do you get this?
@imbiased this would suggest that we would also be gods then yes? you really need to read all these and read the chapters before and after them. it says in the bible he is at the right hand of god. then who is at christ left? its god. it says we are to make man in our image, if this was meant as a singular statement then why is it plural usage?
this is all b.s. we are in our 20th century and you all are still trying to prove joseph smith wrong with a revelation of god. let him be and he is the one who blessed our people with the word of our heavenly father and jesus christ. have faith in god and jesus christ not joseph smith made up stories.

Mormonism is just another kind of satanism just like Islam with its false prophet, pedophilia and polygamy.

Godmakers 2 is trash and every evangelical should join me in condemning it as an insult to the *real* honest work being done in the countercult community.

In fact it seems to me that the mormons follow the same business model as the rest of christianity.

vanityboy97 6 months ago
@vanityboy97 As a matter of Fact you do worship another God, it is not the Judea-Christian God of the Bible but in fact different altogether. This means you are NOT christian. Mormons deny many of the fundamental Christian beliefs. If you do not agree with the Christian fundamental beliefs why try to claim you are in the same group? The Jehovahs Witnesses and Catholics do the same thing. You claim to be the one true church and yet do not follow Gods word but instead change and pervert it.

The Orthodox Christian Church is the only unchanged Church.
magnus56j 6 months ago
@magnus56j Oh so i get it, because 'you guys' determined something early on you must be the ones who got it ALL right in the first place! Do you worship and pray to Mary?
imbiased 6 months ago
@imbiased Of course not! Worship, adoration, and prayer is reserved for God alone. Worship of Mary has always been vehemently condemned by the Orthodox faith. An example of this is when the heresy of Collyridianism arose in the fourth century. The Orthodox Church condemned Collyridianism as dangerously heretical. However, we do honor (not adore) Mary because God honored her to give birth to His eternal Son, and Jesus honored Mary as his mother, following the fourth commandment.
magnus56j 6 months ago
@imbiased To add, we call her blessed because Mary herself declares that "all generations will call me blessed" Luke 1:48. Orthodox Christians, following Scripture, always call her blessed. We also ask for Mary's intercession, because she, like all other Christians are members of Christ's body and one another (Rom 12:5 and many others). We ask the intercession of the saints and each other because we are called to unite ourselves to the one mediator Christ, by praying for all men, through Christ.
magnus56j 6 months ago
@magnus56j Yes that it! Ill ask the saints to intercede on my behalf! Because Jesus did teach that we can oray to others didnt he? John 14:6 & hey, trying to manipulate God by asking others to pray for you, well God will be like "gawd dawgy ok if magnus56j is alright with Mary din hes alright with me, ill grant that dar prayer request of his!"
Dude are you so spiritual proud that you cannot see past the nonsense you are saying? the Luke quotes you made are so far out of context is ridiculous.
imbiased 6 months ago
@imbiased You must have done your so-called research with both eyes closed. An unbaptised emperor deciding he's going to take the Christian church under his wing and bring in some men to decide the nature of God, among other things? And what they came up with is not supported by scripture -- because the creed is false.
heyman537 6 months ago
@heyman537 Still waiting for the lies you reference. As for Constantine, he cared nothing about what was decided at the council, he simply wanted to consolidate Christianity so that he may control it. Here you will find the roots of the paganistic Catholic Church.
Now in terms of things decided, there were none. The council met to agree on things as doctrine, not to invent them. The council was a response primarily on their part to refute Arianism which denied the deity of Christ.
imbiased 6 months ago
@imbiased There were two different philosphies on the nature of God that were before the people at Nicea. The uninspired people voted on the more wrong one.

ulisscarple 5 months ago 2
@heyman537 Then why do you even accept the New Testament? The canon of the New Testament (and Old Testament) wasn't determined until 393 AD by Orthodox Bishops at the Council of Hippo, which was after the Council of Nicaea. Yet, you (along with the Fundamentalists!) accept the canon of the New Testament exactly as the Orthodox Church defined it at the Council of Hippo. It is so contradictory for you to accept the canon of the New Testament, yet reject the authority of the Orthodox Church.

Laxlife221 8 months ago
@Laxlife221 please rephrase your question so it actually makes sense
firstbaldwin 7 months ago
@Laxlife221 you said you dont demand money like the lds church does. you were referring to tithing which is what we call it. ( paying one tenth of our increase to the church) I said read heb ch 7 verse 1-4, genesis ch 28 verse 22. both referring how the bible does the same. why should this time( 21st century) be any different.
Laxlife221 7 months ago
@Laxlife221 (you responded to yourself) Tithing does not save you. Nothing YOU do saves you. Its not under your control. The ritualistic movements and ceremonies and handshakes and lifestyles do not save you. Can you no read the Bible and receive Gods word?
imbiased 7 months ago
@imbiased is it not by grace and works that we are saved? why are you bringing all this other stuff in. i pay tithing for blessing and to help build more temples. do you not pray to reciecve blessing? commit a good act? anything that is deemed good in the eyes of god do you not seek after these things??? yes i do read the bible, its all ive read the past 30 or so days.
Laxlife221 7 months ago
@Laxlife221 Laxlife221 wrote "is it not by grace and works that we are saved?"
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
imbiased 7 months ago
@imbiased yes grace is what saves us. but what is faith? is it just something we have? faith without works is dead. that is where our own personnel works come in. how much grace is applied to us? the better the works the more of the fullness of the kingdom of heaven is opened to us. Rom ch 1 v. 5-7 talks of obedience to the faith. Revelation ch 20 v 12 is really good actually talking about being judged by their individual works. Matthew ch 16 v 27. again rewarded by our WORKS,
Laxlife221 7 months ago
@Laxlife221 Yes faith without works is dead. When we are saved our hearts are called to do works for God. Works can be as simple as just reading the Bible and knowing scripture. Works have nothign to do with what YOU think you should do.
Obedience is not works, you are not rewarded for doing what your supposed to do, ie.tithe. You will however be, and already are, judged by God for adding to the works of the Holy Scripture with the book of Mormon et al.
imbiased 7 months ago
@imbiased adding the book of mormon with the bible is not bad. especially since it wasnt man who added it. And are you saying that we will not be rewarded for our works in the afterlife? pretty sure the bible says so, start here with 2 corninthians ch 5 verese 10. this states will be judged AFTER death, not now. 1 corninthians ch 15 verse 40-42 depicts degrees of heaven. so again read these past scriptures with the ones ive added. obedience is works, going beyond is even better
Laxlife221 7 months ago
@imbiased works actually have everything with what we think we should do. IS robbing a store a good or bad work? is going to church a good or a bad work? same for prayer? same for sinning? these are works and we will be judged according to these works.
Laxlife221 7 months ago
@Laxlife221 But you are doing works to receive something, this is a selfish motivation. I do the dishes so that my wife will not have to, not because i want to EARN her love. She already loves me. I do it because I LOVE her.
I give money to the church because I love God and want his will done through the Church missionaries. If its not done with love then its dead. What is your motivation? To do Gods will? Or are you trying to earn "Faith Tokens" with your actions to spend in heaven?
imbiased 7 months ago
@imbiased Im actually an 19 year old kid preparing to spend two years of my life serving the lord. Im putting in my own money to do this. works is something that we will be judged on, regardless of your purpose for doing it its a biblical fact that we will be judged on it. So my question is, what is that judgement for?
Laxlife221 7 months ago
@Laxlife221 Is your mother receiving flowers from me a pleasant thing? She likes flowers so why not?
But if I give them to her because I wish to lead her away from your father into adultery then my PURPOSE for giving her the flowers if wicked!
Do you believe that God would know my purpose even if your mother did not? MY motivation would be impure and God will know this and judge me for this for God judges the heart. Acts are important but without love they are empty. Why are you doing it?
imbiased 7 months ago
@imbiased again i ask what is god judging us for? the purpose for the after life? if we all get the same thing in the afterlife then why does he need to judge us?
Laxlife221 7 months ago
@Laxlife221 We are judged by our deeds but God knows the heart so be sure your motivations are pure. Your deeds are empty if they are not out of love for God and others.
imbiased 7 months ago
@imbiased so what is the judgement for? what purpose is there unless we are judged on our works?
Laxlife221 7 months ago
@Laxlife221 When i wrote deeds i was referring to works. So you giving tithe and going on your mission is great if you feel God has really called you to do it. But if you are doing it because you think your parents want you to or because you think its the right thing to do I would really consider you pray about it. I would encourage you to open your heart and mind in prayer and ask God to reveal himself to you and what his plan is for you.
Then have the courage to do it.
imbiased 7 months ago
@imbiased I honestly do, im the one paying for my mission, my parents have no say in what i do. i really feel that Roseville callifornia is where i need to be. im running into so many people that are from there and have so many ties there. its where i need to be. btw have you ever tried cutting paper with only 1 side if the scissors? kinda hard. kinda like grace and works, Jesus died on the cross for our sins, we have the ability to repent for our sins right? so have you? thats works my friend
Laxlife221 7 months ago
@Laxlife221 I repent of my sins daily. What gave you the idea that I did not?
Do you believe the Bible the word of God?
imbiased 7 months ago
@imbiased actually i was asking if you do, which you do so that is good your taking advantage of what christ did. now he died on the cross for our sins, gave us the ability to repent and return to heaven. heres where the grace is, he died on the cross for our sins. but we have to repent for our sins, so im asking you is repenting for our sins works or just something else? well it is works.
Laxlife221 7 months ago
@Laxlife221 Repenting is acknowledging our sin and turning away from the sin. Please point to scripture that refers to us being in Heaven prior to our birth.
imbiased 7 months ago
@imbiased so you are saying that us acknowledging our sin and turning away from it isnt a work? are you also saying helping your neigbor isnt a work then? your faith, your testimony? are these now works either. and you do believe we were in heaven before we were on earth? at least someone has their head screwed on straight.
Laxlife221 7 months ago
@Laxlife221 I never said I believe we were in heaven before we were on earth. I asked you to point out WHERE in scripture does God tell us this?
I would say repentance is a work that involves faith and Gods grace.
I believe we are to do Gods will and love one another. If you are not doing Gods will and with love then you are doing your 'works' in vain.
imbiased 7 months ago
@imbiased exactly repentance is a work, the grace is our ability to do this because of the atonement. read jer ch 1 verse 5, titus ch 1 verse 2( meaning we would of had to been alive in spirit to know this promise). job ch 38 verse 7( what were we, the stars, shouting for? the plan he had set for us)
Laxlife221 7 months ago
@Laxlife221 The grace is all Gods.
Isaiah 45:5 I am the LORD, and there is NONE else, there is NO God beside ME: I girded thee, though thou hast NOT known me: 6 That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.
imbiased 7 months ago
@imbiased so do you know what girded means? it means prepare, or also tying a belt around someone. this is also saying we did not now him, it is not saying we were not alive in spirit before alive in the flesh. as supported by my previous scriptures. also r4ad hebrews ch 12 verse 9, its saying as we have a father in the flesh( my dad), we have a father of our spirits,( GOD)
Laxlife221 7 months ago
@Laxlife221 Girded means to bind, nothing to do with prepare.
Clearly God tells us there is no God besides himself. And yes, God the Father is a spiritual being. This means we are all spirit babies?
here's another one for you.
Isaiah 44:8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.
Do you get it yet?
imbiased 7 months ago
@imbiased see i think your switching subjects cause i really am not getting it. First of god the father is in the flesh and bones, he is not a spirit. if christ Resurrection in a body why would god only be in spirit? Christ and god are not the same people, they are two separate beings as well as the holy spirit. not one but 3 different. and there are 4 or more different definitions of girded if you type it into google. and even if he was meaning bind and not prepare it still holds the same value
Laxlife221 7 months ago
@Laxlife221 Jesus Christ said in John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. <-- Jesus says God is spirit.
Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: <---- The trinity is revealed.
In these following 3 scriptures Jesus refers to himself as the same I AM that God the father refers to himself as in Exodus 3:14.
John 8:58
Matthew 14:27
Mark 6:50
egó
imbiased 7 months ago
@imbiased its says god is spirit, not god is a spirit, our bodies have a spirit, we worship his spirit. its like people saying jesus was black, no where in the bible does it say he was black but says his feet were bronze as if burned in a furnace which could suggest he was dark but does not say he was. matt 28:19 is reffering to how we do baptisms, yes mormons baptize in the father, the son, and the holy ghost, all separate. those last 3 scriptures have absolutely nothing to do with exodus
Laxlife221 7 months ago
@imbiased its christ referring to himself, its not logical if you think of logic that god is christ. god doesnt just reveal himself but to a few people now a ton of nations. but they are separate. and if god is christ like you believe, then who is in heaven, and also if you say god and christ are the same then that would be god does have a body of flesh and of bones. these two ideas contradict each other if it is what you truly believe.
Laxlife221 7 months ago
@Laxlife221 The reason the pharisees wanted to kill Jesus was because he referred to himself as 'the son of man' as referenced in Daniel and I AM (hayah in Hebrew or ego in Greek) as referenced in Exodus which is saying he is God.
Jesus is the Son, he is at the right hand of the fathers throne, and he went there, as he said in John 16:7 so that the holy spirit could come here.
Who among us has the power to forgive sin? None but God. Jesus forgave sins.Mark 2:5-11 You do the math.
imbiased 7 months ago
@imbiased so you are saying he stands at the right hand of god yet your saying he is god. these arent the same. in spirit yes they are like the same but not really the same, he was the co creator, he can forgive sin. but he and god are two different beings. in the bible it also says god is love, god is light. are these also saying he is these, its merely saying these are traits he has. god is spirit yes, we worship him in spirit as our spirits do, not in flesh. we are to become like him, this
Laxlife221 7 months ago
@Laxlife221 No this in no way suggests that we would become Gods. You pull that out of thin air. I have read John and Exodus. Jesus is at the right hand of God the Father. It says we are to make man in our image, confirming the trinity, this is why it is plural. Exodus 1:26 does not say The GodS said, it says God said. Meaning ONE God & then refers to itself, God, in plural, indicating this is the trinity that is God.
Read John 1:1-5. This is speaking of Jesus, part of the trinity of God.
imbiased 7 months ago

@imbiased so tell me these false prophecies.

I must return to work now.

@imbiased because thats what that sections about. but his enemies didnt conquer him? he accomplished his what he was supposed to do, he established the church, he helped translate the book of mormon, and so many other things. these things which his enemies were trying to stop him from doing. he accomplished it. god can speak to me, he lets his truth be known through the spirit. but there is a need for prophets and proper teachings. its not like christ coming to the earth was the end we still
Laxlife221 7 months ago
@imbiased need the truth. we need church, we need spiritual growth, if the bible is enough then why do we need to go to church and why do we need to pray. there is never enough that you can get from god. never enough. what we do on this earth will never fully be enough to fully please god but we must do all we can and grace does the rest.
Laxlife221 7 months ago
@Laxlife221 The Church is for fellowship and is good, but it is not necessary to be saved. Spiritual growth is good, but it does not save us. Prayer is good, but we do not need it to be saved. As you pointed out, what WE do here will not satisfy God but what JESUS did does satisfy God and it saves us.
We must simply do Gods will, not our own. And ONLY grace saves us. Nothing that we do can save us. As for your responsibility, Read Luke 10:25-28.

@imbiased church is for fellowship? so you go to church for the people not the worship? i mean i like talking to the girls there but i go strictly for th worship part. so let me get this straight, your saying all these 'works" church and all this stuff is good but doesnt help. so then why did christ come to the earth and let himself be known to everyone in the world, why do we need the bible. if he was here to die for our sins and we are only saved by grace then why would he just come here
Laxlife221 7 months ago
@imbiased and fly under the radar, not TEACH his gospel to people, set up the priesthood, set up HIS church. if my soul is already saved by grace along with everyone elses then why did he need to do all those things. why couldnt we along with the rest of the world do whatever the heck we want not knowing about god if in the end we are saved with grace and the fact that i did slightly more or less works or lived a better or worse life than someone else would be meaningless.

@imbiased i know my thoughts were everywhere in that but bear with me
Laxlife221 7 months ago
@Laxlife221 Your right, Church is for worship, but also for fellowship since i can worship at home. I did not say that you do not need to follow Jesus teachings or commandments, what I am saying is that simply doing things, what you consider to be works, does NOT save you.
You can do nothing to save yourself, that is why Jesus said in John 6:65 He went on to say, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled them.” God must reveal himself to you. Ask him!

@imbiased read revelation ch 20 v 12

Are you getting this much?
imbiased 7 months ago
@imbiased you are, if we are saved by grace then works are irrelevant and mean absolutely nothing. obviously all thee "works" are done with sincerity. i do them because they are a commandment. we are supposed to do these things.
Laxlife221 7 months ago
