  • He was 17 in Willow??

  • Hahaha, "They jump at it, eventually." "That's your cat." lol

  • look at that picture of ricky holding his hand. its so fucking brilliant

  • He was in Harry potter!:)

  • Ricky went for the guillotine!

  • Pure comedic gold. A fucking plus, haha.

  • I don't recall having seen Willow, though I probably watched it, but somehow I certainly do recognize the name Warwick Davis. I wonder why that is.

  • I Agree with gruebleen69 this is hilarious!

  • If you haven't seen this, then give it a go. Not everyone's cup of tea, but what comedy is. In my humble opinion, this one of the great British sitcoms and deserves to stand up there with Blackadder, Fawlty Towers and of course The Office. Warwick plays his part to perfection.

  • aghgggggahsfjgajsgfjm, fucking fell off my damn chair!

  • Why didn't Warwick mention "Ray" with Jamie Foxx?

  • @2seconds2long Cause he's acting here, he wasn't being serious. They even made the main joke from the series about him being in Star Wars but not showing his face so it could have been anyone and how no one's heard of Willow.

  • omfg the cat thing is funny.

  • If Warwick Davis, Peter Dinklage, and Verne Troyer were all in the same room together (or at least guest starred on Warwick's show), my mind would simply explode.

  • I met Warwick Davis in Disneyland once..... He was awesome.

  • Does anybody know when episode 8 is on tv? Or is that it for the season? Thanks

  • I am really happy for Warwick's success lately and happy to see him get a show like this. He is often considered one of the best little people actors of all time, but I consider him one of the best actors ever, IMO. Willow is my fave movie of all time and anyone that can play a character like that AND the Leprechaun and anything in between must be respected. Will watch this when it debuts next month on HBO.

  • hahaha who the hell was shouting "Use a knife! Stab him!"

  • A lot of people are slating this show, but I think it's brilliant. Yes, Warwick is basically a mini Brent, but he plays it so well, he's hilarious.

    Cheryl is hot as hell.

  • Has this series been & gone anyone ??

  • its funny, but warrick is just being ricky? i'd rather see ricky be ricky.

  • bbc2 for free, hbo for 10 dollars a month.

  • This show is hilarious I don't know what you lot are moaning about.

  • 'fight, fight, fight, fight' LOL

I'd bet ten pounds on Warwick if I was there.

  • funny as fuck!

  • @benightedness Warwick dressed as a frog was hilarious - him screwing up a wedding dressed as a bear without all the stuffing (the same bear that his PA says her dog humps a lot so it's a bit smelly)

I would have loved him to repeat the same thing at my mother's wedding

  • shame this show is pants, why not do an idiot abroad series 3??????

  • Love this show!

  • he was in Harry Potter

  • this show is ricky gervais flogging a dead horse

  • "I'm just putting the DAZ in the sink Simon."

  • This may seem obscure but for some reason Warwick remids me of Ricci Harnett from 'Rise of the Footsoldier'.....

  • This was so funny and He is probably the only one brave enough to do this comedy and hats off to the little cunt ,Warrick was kind to give him a job

  • This show is too fucking funny.

  • I laughed at the ending with the woman in red slapping the table yelling 'fight, fight, fight, fight'

  • Don't see what everyones going on about, I love Life's too Short

  • @KellingtonBuzz I do agree with you! I don't really laugh much these days due to personal circumstances, but this show has made me laugh a lot! This is what I call British humour, I look forward to watching more episodes!

  • An awful, unfunny show

  • @bluth78 your in the 2% then. whats the weather like DOWN there? cunt

  • @HOW7EY haha grow up little boy, and take your head out of Ricky Gervais' arse

  • Warwick from League of Legends?

  • I don't dislike Warwick Davis at all but the programme is terrible. Sorry guys.

  • I have to say, i love Ricky Gervais and think he is awesome. But life's too short has been massively disappointing.

  • This and Extras are fails. The Office, Ricky Gervais stand up and Karl Pilkington series 1&2 success

  • @cranebeg And Extras? Check the series again, mate.

  • He was in Harry Potter right? With the long nose at the bank

  • @jella11 he played the professor called Filius Flitwick i belive.

  • quality

  • Loved it so far. Warwick Davis is a class act. RG and SM cannot go wrong.

  • Warwick Davis is a great comedy actor

  • great sitcom

  • I love this series. Warwick plays the David Brent type character even better than Ricky himself imo. He is a genunely funny man. There has got to be a second series!

  • Already a classic.

  • Just started watching this and it's absolutely hilarious!

Give Gervais some credit as he obviously has a genuine friendship with and professional regard for Warren Davis, who is actually a really great comedy actor -where else on TV would he have been able to show that?.

  • @laymonite It's Warwick, not Warren for God' sake! ;)

  • Huge disappointment. You could warm to David Brent, despite his obvious twatishness. Warwick Davis seems to just be David Brent but lconsiderably less funny and with no sign of any redeeming qualities at all. What went wrong ?

  • @issuesgalore I think the shows great. It seems people love it or hate it though. Ah well.

  • Well... Someone has to say it:

    I am Dave! Yognaught

  • HARRY POTTER :D

  • first idiots abroad and then this. gervais is on fire at the moment. warwick davis is brilliant. if you dont like this show then its youre taste thats bad.

  • This gets better every episode I think. I only really found Liam Neeson funny in the first episode, but as the show's gone on the guest stars have had shorter scenes and the focus has shifted more to Warwick who I think is funnier than he gets credit for.

  • What an unbelievably massive let down this show is..If Gervais wasnt so overindulged by the BBC this would never have been commissioned..dreadful..

  • We are told that we can no longer make fun of race, racism, colour, illness, size etc because its not PC. Some of my favourite comedians such as Jim Davison and his "chalky" jokes are no longer PC and are not allowed on the TV. I personally loved the Irishman ,Scotsman and Englishman jokes. I love a good laugh but cannot find this program the least bit funny. We all have our opinions and thas just mine.

  • Hahahaha that's hilarious! It's soo politically incorrect - I love it! Nothing is incorrect these days in that sense, least in the televised world, we need people like Ricky to keep comedy fresh and so horribly morally wrong like it should be.

  • This show is great Warwick is brilliant.

  • Everyone loves comedy but they get too scared too laugh if it deals with something comedy hasn't dealt with before. Lets face it no one cares if someone gets offended, they just don't wanna look like they have no moral fibre so they jump on the 'I'm really offended bandwagon'. If you're gonna take offence to one thing, why not take offence to everything.

  • proper laughed at tonight's episode when warwick was in the bin.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • LOL "That's your cat ricky. . ."

  • ricky = brent in this scene

  • I like Warwick Davis but I find this program a bit to near the knuckle. I dont like anyone being made fun of because of there size, colour, religeon, creed and I find this program well beneath Waricks abilities as an actor.

As usual another Ricky Gervais (so called comedy) thats not funny.

When will the BBC learn this man is humourless.

  • @jenniferhilda why are you here you miserable cunt

  • @Cockzilla01

Im very rarely a miserable cunt and I tell it like it is. If you look at the critics views and even more of the comments on Youtube you will find im not the only one who thinks this program is crap, As I said I like Warwick but find this totally humourless.

I like a good laugh and was expectiing a lot more from this progam and was sadly disappointed.

  • @jenniferhilda you sound like a miserable cunt

  • @Cockzilla01 Sounds like you enjoy being a total twatt and just like making stupid comments

  • @jenniferhilda miserable cunt

  • @jenniferhilda I think, as do the majority that its fucking hilarious!

  • @jenniferhilda Have you even watched the program or are you just judging the entire series by this one video? If you watched the episodes you would realise that it is not all about dwarf gags and hieght jibes... Warwick had a choice whether to do the series or not, he clearly doesn't find it offensive, so why should you be offended on his behalf?

  • @jenniferhilda It's unfortunate that you can't laugh at other peoples differences because that's what good comedy is all about. Safe comedy isn't comedy, it's just bullshit, stuff that leaves you thinking "Holy shit, did he just say that?" is where it really gets funny.

We laugh at things like illness, war, racism, because there's no other way to look at it. If you make it a serious subject then it only makes the thing itself more serious, we laugh so we can deal with these things.

  • I loved it when Karl called him from that dwarf village in China!!! hahaha I fucking love British tv.

  • Life's too short? I'm afraid, after three episodes, I've decided it is.

  • @weestuburns second that, i think i'd prefer to watch Derek Noakes jacking off for 30 mins to a VHS recording of the golden globes

  • @weestuburns the show is good o.o

  • @weestuburns Ah, the chance to make a joke on the internet. Too bad all you'll get for it is a bunch of 'thumbs up' from other people dicking around the internet. And condescending comments from me. Next!

  • @streatcarp Er, it wasn't a joke it was an opinion.

  • @weestuburns it's not funny enough

  • @missleahchloe Thanks for stating the bleeding obvious.

  • I wasnt sure after the first two but three sealed it for me. The role in front of BonhampCarter...the way he is dismissed...and his reactions...BRILLIANT.

    .

  • best show in awhile

  • willow ofgood!!!!!

  • It's probably the most politically incorrect programme ever and yet it is also probably the best role a dwarf ever had. Warwick Davis is a brilliant actor, his facial expressions crease me up.

  • @oldbloke135

Not really, it's just a normal show except they chose to use Warwick Davis and other actors that are his same height. As Ricky said in one of his podcasts, he's not trying to shock people, and if people are shocked or found it offensive, it is because they are the ones that hold a certain prejudice.

Other than that, I agree that Warwick is a great actor and comedian as you just saw in the clip. He played with what Ricky set up perfectly.

  • @oldbloke135 Why is it politically incorrect?

It's a little person, playing a little person.

Not some mythical creature or a dwarf. I think that's taking the piss more than treating them like any other actor.

  • Probably the most dissapointing programme ever. So many of the jokes were in the office and extras, the acting is average, it doesnt feel like a documentary, the celebrities are forced, Johnny Depp wasnt funny, the scenes are too long, the whole famous guy that isnt recognised by general public thing was done to death in extras, none of the characters are even remotley likable, and the biggest issue... IT ISNT FUNNY! However much I love the office my respect for gervias has been dented.

  • @bobbydylanio i enjoy watching it but i agree with pretty much everything you said. the bits that are funny arent original- theyre from like you said either the office or extras. half the stuff warwick says you can see david brent saying. as for johnny Depp I agree it was so stunted and felt forced. the problem is that its sopposed to feel like a deocumentary. but you felt everyone in it was putting up an act. it wouldve been better perhaps to have it completely made up.

  • i love ricky honestly, but "this little fucking loser??" is that really necessary?

  • @mdm15 Yes it is.

  • @mdm15 absolutely necessary because He's joking!

  • @mdm15 It's obviously a joke..

  • so brilliant... can't wait for this.

  • Wait, why are they assembling C3PO in the background?

  • @GuppyOdyssey Watch episode 2 and find out!

  • "If you do this they jump at it!!" Hilarious :)

  • Yayyyyyyyyyyyy! Thank you for making something new Gervais/Merchant!

  • the expression on waricks face at 1:42 is fuckin priceless!!! ahahah

  • fucking brilliant.

  • Am i the only one that thought the first episode of this was terrible compaired to the office and extras

  • @xDRUNKxAPACHEx Your not alone. It's not half as good, we've seen it all before

  • @xDRUNKxAPACHEx What about the second episode though? I thought that was utterly fantastic.

  • @MrMattyvibes it was better

  • @SteveFusionX thx. I can't get the iplayer in australia. I just downloaded it though ;-)

  • when does this come out? or is it already?

  • @padstar999

check on the bbc iplayer. First episode is up

I havent laughed so much in ages. The liam neeson sketch was gold

  • @SteveFusionX I just watched the liam neeson bit here, again, for the fifth time. My stomach hurts from laughing so much. Gold is right.

  • First episode was the funniest programme I've seen in ages. It had me laughing in the way I used to when I was a kid (i.e. crying & cramping at the stomach).

  • @bodsnvimto What about the second episode? I nearly died, it was incredible.

  • @MrMattyvibes

Let's just say that I'm glad that it's repeated on tuesday night; I missed half the jokes through laughing too long & loud at the previous ones.

Even now I'm grinning ear to ear, just thinking about it.

  • @MrMattyvibes

Agreed. We are now four episodes in & each one has had me laughing until my stomach hurts. I doubt it'll have the comedic longevity of The Office but right now I'm loving it twice a week - indeed I have to watch the 10pm repeat to catch up on the jokes I missed through laughing too long & loud first time around.

Warwick Davis is a comedy genius!

  • that fight is hilarious, I hope they have one in the series

  • "Stab him"

  • I've just finished watching the first episode, and I can't remember any of the jokes apart from the amazing Liam Neeson part. Just Warwick David doing a 2nd rate David Brent impersonation and scenes that look like they were cut out of the script of Extras for not being funny. I'll watch the rest of it, but I'll wish I hadn't, just like the Invention of Lying...

  • @videogamenostalgia Sadly, i have to agree. It's like the second series of "An idiot abroad" too formulaic. However, i wish them well and i will give the series a view, if only for the guest spots.

  • @videogamenostalgia I agree with that, it was almost like a homage to the Office, but maybe it was done on purpose so we can have these discussions, I did rewatch it and actually thought the same way about it as I did with the first episode of Extras, which was probably the worst of the lot, but actually quite good.

  • It has the potential to be funnier as the series goes on so I wont write it off now. I still laughed throughout the episodes at the scenes written for the laughs like Liam one. I just think the connecting scenes need improving because there is too much downtime between laughs.

  • I saw the first episode of this and thought it was pretty good. You can totally tell that it's written and directed by Gervais because Warwick Davis' character's persona IS Ricky Gervais. The arrogance, the mannerisms, the timing.... If he wasn't 4' tall I would have sworn it was Gervais in prosthetics.

  • Comment removed

  • Gervais lost his funny when he lost his weight.

  • I was right. Like The Office but not very funny. Davis in the Brent role obviously. But it all seemed very tired. Should've been much funnier.

  • disapointing... only laughed when ricky was in the shot and that wasnt a lot

  • this one isn't gonna be very funny. trust me.

  • @sparkyinbath you are wrong my friend, hope you stuck around for the second episode.

  • Thumbs up to the guy who shouts "stab 'im"

  • Gervais is without a doubt my favorite comedian but I am worried that lifes too short is gonna disapoint because it seems that the leading character is played by Warwick and not Ricky . Dont get me wrong I think Warwick is funny but in my opinion Ricky is always the funniest character in his shows. But I surdently hope I'm gonna be proven wrong! :)

  • Thiss going to be fucking incredible.

  • Thankgod for BBC and HBO

  • Life's too short, comin' soon... about this little fucking loser. Genius

  • mannn gervais aint half as funny as the people hes rollin with . infact hes a shit comedian . it really shows when he acts with carl and warwick those two are great . that stephen is a nob head as well

  • @themooseOFpower You complete and utter muppet! End of.

  • @mjhall39 i know what you dancing fags do with gerbils .

  • @themooseOFpower actually i quite like gervais

  • Oh my god, I fell in love with that man the very first time I saw Willow.

  • @ajax that was the point ....

  • 10 dwarfs disliked this

  • I am Dave!Yognau(gh)t and i have the balls.

  • I love how they immediatly start cheering when the fight starts - as if its the most normal thing in the world. :D

  • I am now going to watch Willow - again....

  • why doesnt he mention harry potter

  • "That's your Cat Ricky."

Oh shit, that set me off!

  • I fucking loved Willow.

  • "You weren't even in Time Bandits!"

  • This was not about League of Legends.

  • @jamesglangdon Didn't you see the yordle?

  • Gervais, Merchant, Davies - and a shitload of guest-stars - what could possibly go wrong.

It will run for two seasons, will have a special and will be a fucking comedy classic for ages to come.

  • @Porly62 it's Davis, not Davies, fuck me

  • @Porly62 wish you were right but the first episode was terrible didnt laugh once

  • @Porly62 hahahahaha you do not gervais isn't going to give you a role in a movie you suck arse

  • @Porly62 It's not turning out that way though, is it? This is the worst of The Office and Extras combined, with none of the subtlety or nuance that made the former a classic and the latter tolerable. Gervais' army of mouthy loyal sycophants will be sure to shout down anyone who disagrees of course, whining on about irony etc., but a million people didn't switch off in week two for nothing.

  • @kalifire A million people missed a good second episode then. There loss.

  • I love ricky gervais but his patronising/awards/celebrity thing is really getting old

  • @snolge Is it?

  • Comment removed

  • @snolge fuck you

  • @superarmysoldier12 Thanks!
