@Aganiel I understand your statement pertaining to Mortanius but Nupraptor 0_o? How was Nupraptor one of the sane guardians when he poisoned the entire circle within the hour Ariel was murdered?

@tmoneysn I believe that, as teh guardian of the mind, when Ariel was murdered, he knew about the Hylden conspiricy. So he tried to infect the circle to halt the advance of their insurrection. Never wondered WHY Kain was made to kill Nupraptor first?

Ariel was murdered because they calculated that Nupraptor, being the mind guardian, as Ariel's lover would be grief stricken and use his powers to corrupt the circle which would later setup Kain with the dillema of killing himself to save the world, or have the pillars fall and the Hylden thus being free. Nupraptor was the first kill simply because Ariel saw him as the culprit who rewrote Kain's destiny to be the Scion of Balance.

@tmoneysn but consider that the Hylden's Insurrection was not just a coincidence, they planned everything. Ariel's murder, possesion of Mortanius, I think even Mobius was their little puppet (but i'm not really sure of that. Perhaps just the old god's pawn).

But technically, LoK hasn't ended yet. There was supposed to be a final game after Defiance. But I think there's more behind the fact that Nupraptor was the first 'kill' of Kain.

@Aganiel the god seeks the vampire's destruction. Moebius was his puppet but the elder god acts in the Hylden's interests. Nupraptor was the first kill because

1. It was Ariel's mercy to her beloved

2. He infected the circle with madness, perhaps they thought killing him could free the others.

3. He was causing the townspeople and those who sought his guidance to go insane. He was the most immediate threat at the time.

But as I said, I solumly think there was more to it. After all, isn't LoK a series full of twists, schemes and whatnot?

@Aganiel Nupraptor was insane. Kain said they were symbiotically linked and Nupraptor spread his madness to the others. Besides he didn't know for sure the conspiracy, but he suspected that it was within the circle

i wonder what it would've been like if Kain never went back in time to kill William. Would the nemesis actually prevail in conquering Nosgoth?

Kain would have created a Vampire Army to counter the Nemesis, recreating the Nosgothic vampires and thus he would have been able to sacrifice himself. Hence Vampires would be back in charge and Balance would be restored.

The trouble was of course the manipulations of Mobius, who was tainted like all the rest.
