  • Not really since I clean it immediately in the wet sponge.

  • Size matters, Core X2, George L's are great. I prefer fixed factory cables myself. bought a bunch of Core X2 on sale at MF. They are one foot gold jack heavy shields. The jacks are big but gold rules.

  • Good for you! Thanks!

  • I am using rapco horizon cables but the inside is too thick for the connector.. what brand cables are u using?

  • Try also Canary studio grade cable if you can find it.

  • What cables are you using? I got rapco horizon and the inside connector it too thick to fit into the jack..

  • The Canary studio grade is thinner.

  • how much are the cables?

  • I was so excited to get the parts and try this out...the 1/4 phono plugs from parts express are TERRIBLE...I made about 7 cables and then hooked them all up to my board and I noticed that my volume seemed very weak...I tested EACH cable against store bought patch cables and the store bought ones were double the volume of these patch cables...I was using mogami cable and the parts express 1/4 plugs...even though these plugs are the smallest the quality is very poor.

  • Hmm - a plug is a plug - and it shouldn't attenuate the sound. There might have been other issues - maybe shorts? Not sure why.

  • this helps alot i guna start doin this!!

    thnx!!

  • You are welcome!

  • i bought those jacks, but i don't know what cable is suitable.

the guy at the shop recommends a cable that is stereo, which is for mic.

    is it the same?

  • You don't need a stereo cable. Use a regular mono cable that's thin enough to fit those angled jacks.

  • wouldnt it be easier just to use a wire peeler?? thats what I do lol

and another thing... my cable has a positive and a negative (or that is what I assume they are.... red and blue wires)

  • You might have a stereo cable. That's why the red and blue wires. The important thing is to be shielded. In that case use the shield to ground and twist the blue and red together and solder them both to the tip connector.

  • i use the same plugs, yeaahh rock on

  • Thanks!

  • Thanks! Not really since I always clean it in the wet sponge.

  • do u rekon u could do a demo on ur pedals plz and this vid really helped thank you

  • You are welcome! - you mean demo on how it sounds, etc?

  • Yes plz like how your pedals sound and all your guitar and stuff and a quick review on the pedals please

  • Very helpful, thanks! I'm working on putting together a pedal board, and I'm also getting a Pedal Train.

  • use elastic band on the pliers to keep it closed on the jack

  • Lovely tip! Thanks!

  • Great little instructional vid. Thanks.

1 suggestion: vice grips, dude, vice grips.

  • Suggestion taken! I actually have that tool but never used it

  • you really look like you know what ur talking about

    thanks for the vid

  • I hope - hehe. My pleasure!

  • what kind of ends are those?

  • 90 degree 1/4 male - Fender type.

  • very helpful, you know. ;)

  • Hope so - thanks!

  • thans for the video good job

  • My pleasure!

  • I spent 1-hour to make only one same of yours . . . . need practice ?, i believe so.

    Great Video

  • Take your time - do a couple test solder joints on some old jacks, etc. You will get a hold of it in the end -

    Good luck!

  • Haha this was uploaded on my birthday.

  • Happy B-day!!

  • thanks for the video good job

  • Merci beaucoup!

  • THANK YOU DUDE!!!!! YOU ROCKª

  • Gracias!

  • Great tutorial, thanks!

  • My pleasure!

  • Great. I'll have to try those. I think you need to invest in a vice grip. lol. Cheers.

  • Thanks! In fact I have it but never used it!

  • great "how to" vid, but hey are you ever thinking of selling cables you've made because i dont own or ever used a soldering iron and im not planning on getting one just to make a few cables, i want someone with bit of a know how you know! so tell me if you are planning on selling a few, thanks!

  • Hard to sell those since each pedal board requires custom cable length. Try the George L cables instead.

  • um um um

  • uhm - what? uhm - aa yea!

  • I use the same 90 degree connectors... I actually found that the pdeals are so close that i occationally step on 2 pedals though...

  • Happens to me as well.

  • Very nice m8

  • thanks!

  • great video... its gonna be usefull

  • hope so - thanks!

  • were did you buy the jack peace?

  • I'll post a video and details on how to make that. Subscribe to my channel to get notified. CHeers!

  • did the voodo lab power suply come with cables to conect the pedat to the power suply?

  • Yes - the Voodo comes with a lot of supply cable types - even reverse-polarity cables! Accommodates anything from Boss to Electro-Harmonix pedals.

  • tip for future: avoid saying "you know"

  • I know - sorry -Thanks! Yes - I am battling that.

  • george l's are much easier

  • They indeed might - I hear conflicting opinions. I happen to solder a lot, so it made sense in a way.
