  • I have an admiral record produced at arthur smith which my father played on. It has 2 instrumental titles, "Outrage", and "Drag Race", which are totally original and may predate "Wipeout". The group was called the "R-dells", but was not the known group of that era. It was recorded around 1965. I am trying to locate the master tape if it still in existence, but I don't know who to contact. By the way, your channel is awesome! Still planning to post this record.

  • @music3651 , this is awesome. This is the reason I post records up here. Very interesting!! Can't wait to hear THE R-DELLS! Make sure you send me the video when you upload it! Keep in touch. -dan

  • Pretty cool song! I live in Charlotte. Someone told me that studio was on Independence and Sharon Amity... I just passed there Sunday, I think its still there, a brick building...

  • @GarageRockRadio , I found this in Asheboro if my memory serves me right. My Dad lives in NC and I always find something great when I go down there.

  • This is the only place I've been able to find this Admiral record label, besides the record I have that my father played on. Do you have any information on where these masters are stored or if they still exist? (I'll post my record when I get a turntable working).

  • @music3651 , hi I have VERY little info at all on this. Only thing I know it was recorded at Arthur Smiths studio. Let me know if you find anything out! -thanks! dan

  • @music3651 , hey forgot to ask, how did you find my video? I know theres no other "Admiral" recordings up here. -dan

  • Arthur Smith had a TV show "The Arthur Smith Show" that played on a limited syndication in the mid Atlantic. I remeber watching this fun show everyweek on WDBJ TV in Roanoke, VA. The show was an excellent variety of music -country -rock-gospel and had great comedy skits, one in particular was "Pantomime" which had his comedy team doing MTV -Saturday Night Live type actions to the lyrics....one ion particular was the skiffle classic, "Tie Me Kangaroo Down" absolutely hilarious!

  • I think....seems like Pee Wee Trahan singin'....the legendary Johnny Rebel singer. What about the text on the vinyl?

  • @whitetrash88 , that would be awesome if this was Johnny Rebel but I think he did all his recordings in Louisiana and Alabama. This record is a mystery to me. Thanks
