Houston gets a lot more rain in terms of inches. In Seattle, the rain is a slow drizzle, almost a mist at times. But it does have that slow drizzle a lot in the winter time. But my point was, the video doesn't represent Seattle well at all, it shows rain pouring down while lightning practically lights the streets. Thunder or Lightning in Seattle is EXTREMELY rare, and it rarely rains as hard as it does in the video.

Wind and downpour are not quite common. Seattle is average in the wind department and if downpour was common it would get a lot more inches of rain. The reason is gets so much less rain in inches than almost every east coast city is that it rarely downpours. Just because it downpours one day doesn't mean in downpours often.

It doesn't really matter, but saying downpour in Seattle is common is downright false. I live just an hour north of it so I know.

What is common is the light drizzle, not heavy rain or other other extreme climate things. Hail, heavy wind, snow, and stuff like that is not common. I'm not saying non of that stuff is never around, we even just recently had some hail, but Seattle's climate is mild in pretty much all ways. You will very rarely get pelted by rain like you see in the video. It pretty much downpours in places like Houston for a short amount of time. Seattle really doesn't downpour all that often.
