What nonsense. Citizens do not have a Constitutional right to sue a candidate just because they think the candidate doesn't meet the requirements or has broken some law. If that was the case, we would have lawsuits against every candidate for bribery or breaking laws while in office. However, if your parents are US citizens, serving with the US Goverment abroad and you are born abroad you are a considered a natural born citizen. That would seem to include McCain, whose parents were both citizens and whose father was a Navy officer stationed at the U.S. naval base in Panama at the time of John's birth in 1936.

Have you asked John McCain? He was born in Colon Panama with a Panamanian Birth Certificate, which by treaty along with Panama City was not considered part of the Panama Canal Zone. While he is a US Citizen by his Parents, he would not meet the Natural Born standard stated in Article 2 of the US Constitution!

Check out johnharding . com (Remove spaces). The operative section in the treaty is "with the proviso that the cities of Panama and Colon and the harbors adjacent to said cities, which are included within the boundaries of the zone above described, shall not be included within this grant."

There is 2 paragraphs in that section, you may be right he was not born in the canal zone, in paragraph B says if he was born anywhere in Panama "Any person born in the Republic of Panama on or after February 26, 1904, and whether before or after the effective date of this chapter, whose father or mother or both at .. just google this "Section 1403 - Persons born in the Canal Zone or Republic of Panama on or after February 26, 1904" you will find it

I'm not claiming He isn't a US Citizen. That though does not necessarily make him a Natural Born Citizen, as the Constitution requires. Also it's interesting, McCain's document is also a Certification of Live Birth. Also if I'm not mistaken Birth Certificates are public records, so it should be easy for Mr. Berg to check if Hawaii, has such a record himself, if he's that interested. That would be the most common sense approach to resolve the issue once and for all!!
