For the people who don't understand, the game is basically about loop-time. It's like going bak and forth time to show you how or may show you how te character dies. It's just like how Col was dead before Bella was in that hospital thing thang thing. It's just reversing time them resume.

He did, but Amana said something about something not connecting at the end of Episode 7, which, if you think about it, seems to have caused a reset. Why would Howard be back at that river and mysteriously come across Amana again in an eerily similar way?

(Then again, it's probably a good thing he didn't stick around. The look on Amana's face wasn't exactly friendly after Howard bolted.)

if you ever played part 1 on ps2, the game progresses in random and different days and time so most likely the time map would go back and forth on the time chart therefore going back to see what happend to the black guy. And if you notice, there are lots of holes in the story, its purposely like this so that when you do side quest you unlock other missions that reveal more things that'll clear up your confusion. hopefully that'll help some of you veiwers who are lost.

At the end of Chapter 7, everything didn't go as planned. Characters died prematurely, and became a Shibito, like Bella. After Howard dies from being shot by Melissa in Chapter 7, Amana realized that Howard's very actions was ruining the timeline. The current timeline collapsed, and reset, reverting back to when Howard was shot by the policeman. They still retain their memories, which is why Howard ran away from Amana when he met her again. He originally went with Amana in the earlier chapters.
