  • The development of ACT drugs, then providing them to not-for-profit health centres located in the communities most affected by malaria is making such a difference. We can use lab tests or rapid (RDT) tests and then provide the UNITAID/ Global Fund drugs to the patient with confirmed malaria. Commercial ACT cost Ugandans the same as 15 meals. We have to charge for consultations and the lab tests, but the Coartem is free. The whole service for the price of five meals. Next is free RDTs in R10
