the melody from the choir is from "Kōjō no Tsuki", lit. "The Moon over the Ruined Castle" a japanese song written in 1901. But i believe, as @Gandalf930 said, that the lyrics are from the Cherubic Anthem
I repeat once again: this is not Gregorian chanting. Gregorian chanting is the music of western Catholic monks. The choir here sings in an Eastern Orthodox manner and what they sing is called the Cherubic Anthem or Song of The Cherubim.
The speedier part before the Gregorian chanting (that begins with ..."of burden alike. Seduced by the father....") ,when listened to at the appropriate volume, makes me want to take the claw- end of a hammer and bury it in my skull over and over again. Just a beautiful song with spectacular lyrics.
Utterly amazing. I like the doom feel to it and then the tempo pickup. Very nice. I was recently inspired to use some animation of a "dark wedding procession" with dudes in black robes and swords, set to a black metal song; I think this would work very well for an amateur video (meaning I have never made one, nothing on the song :P)
@blodbotina Yeah Mikko A. has a habit of half-pronouncing or even mispronouncing words; it definitely helps to have the lyrics at hand! (but it just wouldn't be the same without Mikko)
here there is the traduction of the choir (not my work, we have to thx Kakodaimonoz):
We, who secretly became like Heruvims, and the Holy Three (in US, it's Holy Spirit, God and Jesus, I think?), that giveth life, are singing thrice-holy song to leave behind all the earthly worries/concerns. Amen. To praise the Tsar (King/God) of all, along with the voices of the angels. Praise God. Praise God. Praise God.

Great song, but I do prefer the version that is higher quality and not cut off. You can find it on here easy enough.

I know a Finnish girl and her mispronunciations are so sexy, and often rather literal.

What is called the choir theme from this song?
peruner44 3 years ago
@peruner44
The user Kakodaimonoz in another video of the same song wrote this:
Lol, they DID NOT compose the choir. It's a very old Russian orthodox church choir.
The language is very old, so it was hard to translate into normal Russian then to English
