  • Where the hell is it?

  • they fight like old women.

  • @AbuGollo they can't better, maybe if the want to go to jail

  • @AbuGollo

Yes we did, but remember the temperature. I'd like to see how you fare in 3hours in 25kg armor and padding in 46 degrees celcius :D

  • @Stolenbjorn

    watch?v=NDWXFoRf9hw

i am the guy in the blue costumes with the spear. i have at least 40 performances with this team in a year, and we always fight in high temperature, but we never fight like these guys. we always have to kee the fighting dynamic, fast, and realistic.

  • @AbuGollo

If that is so, then I'm very impressed with you :)

I'm from Norway, and we are NOT used to 40 degrees+, maximum temperature I had fought in before Grünwald was 30 degrees.

Another factor in why many fight like women in theese huge gatherings, is that you fight someone you don't know in a system you're not used to. We fought italians that was used to thrusting towards face, they knew we were not used to this, and was probably beeing more careful with us than they could have been.

  • @Stolenbjorn yes, I know that organization means a lot, and you have to get used to your opponent, but these fightings are still very slow, I wasn't yet in abroad in a battle re-enactment such as this, but here in Hungary, if we do som e fighting, we try to be as aggressive as we can, we always shout and make wide and fast moves, though we wear less armor, mostly chainmail or leather

  • @AbuGollo

I agree with you, but heat was a killer on showfighting on my part at least. It took a huge effort just to go out in the field. 10% threw in the towel after marching into the combat field. I am extremely impressed with the ones that actually managed to fight with aliveness in this battle, I was constantly afraid of fainting, as many did. In the end, the battle was cut short on orders from the local polish hospital, that had no more capassity to accomodate people with heat-stroke.

  • @AbuGollo just find in Y.T. Grunwald BUHURT, or BOHURT then U will see nice fight. That battle is first of all for tourists and we don't fight seriously :-) best regards from Poland

  • LITHUANIA AND POLAND KICKED ASS THANKS TO VYTAUTAS AND JOGAILA!!!!!

  • Poland the best!!! I'm from Poland and i was in Grunwald 2times! Was very nice;)

and sorry for my bad english

  • we kicked some german ass! (im not polish)

  • I fought in the Slaska regiment. We walked 800 meters to the combat-arena, was checked in, and was herded beneath a sun-sail set up to give us shadow. By then I saw 3 in my unit having to skip battle, despite heroic effort by water-ladies. 52 in the sun sounds plausible, I was talking about degrees in the shadow (whch there was precious little of on the battlefield). I got the impression that temperature rose throughout the battle, and personally I had the hardest time when we got back to camp

  • @Stolenbjorn

yeah temperatures during the longsword tournament were already hard as f*** but at the day of the battle it was my own little personal hell:D and to be honest driving home to south west germany on saturday was the stupidest thing i ever did in my life. but grunwald tage 2010 was one of the best^^ greetings from germany! see ya next year;)

  • I was there, I think we did a deacent job, considering it was 42 degrees celcius, and the ambulance-personell wanted the battle stopped, due to the casualties caused by the heat :)

  • @Stolenbjorn

It was rather 52 maximum (in the sun) according to what the guy plaing Jagiełło said to the newspaper. I don't know if this is true, but they took a thermometer on the field. It was said also that guys from the Śląska banner fried an egg on a breast plate, while waiting for the battle.

I myself was going to faint, or have an heart attack so I stayed in the shadow near the lonely tree on the polish side, and guarded some friends armors, which they left before the battle.

  • Very nice!!! Do you have more movies?

  • It certainty isn't Braveheart :D

  • @IrelandBoi1987 no, way better then that shit
