  • In Da Viz, Also did you build a IR emiter bar for the wii mote... or do you just use the acceleromiters only?...

  • Viz, Widcomm has been bought out by broadcom... Had troubles last night using an I/O gear dongle +vista. The wii mote did continue to blink.. but sseing your post makes more clear to me. Are you using PPJOY or Glove pie in the background as an emulator... I am wondering if you need either of these for miilkdrop?...

  • @TechnoVisionDetroit I only used the Wiimotes with XP, and I did use IR. I've dropped Wiimotes from my project though, I only use camera vision.

  • what version of widcomm you use ?

  • Bluetooth what. sorry i just cant understand your actsent.

  • What exactly does that word "actsent" that you wrote mean?

  • Dongle, I understood it

  • dongle

  • Whats that Winapp you're talking about around 7:12? do you have to add that or should it come preinstalled on your computer?

  • the leds are supposed to keep blinking until you open some software that uses the wiimote

i wonder why your fist wiimote has the 1led on, while you didnt launch anything yet

  • possibly because i had it all connected and then disconnected before recording the video, without unplugging the bluetooth dongle first. it may have retained some state info in the wiimote itself.

  • it doesnt do that on mine

i conncect it, launch a program, lator close the program, disconnect it, then lator reconnect, they all keep blinking

  • what program do you run?

  • johny lee's wiimot whiteboard

  • no idea. have you ever been able to connect but just can't get it to work sometimes? if not, you'll probably have to find another usb dongle + bluetooth stack + OS + PC combo.

(also make sure if you're using a laptop with bluetooth supported to turn off that support.)

no-name usb dongle + widcomm (that comes with the dongle) + win xp has worked on several laptops i've tried. with other combos i had little luck.

  • got it thanks.

  • i'm not using that usb blue tooth but it seems to work similar. I can't get past the security screen where you just clicked skip. 3:07 Clicking skip does absolutly nothing. Any ideas why? Were your wiimotes programed to you wii or did you somehow unprogram them or something?

  • dude, widcomn doesn't work, and blue soliel crashes my pc when trying to use it as a mouse. widcomn makes it that my bluetooth usb thing doesnt connect succesfully! please help!

  • hi, the only advice i can offer is get the sparkfun bluetooth usb dongle (see info for link), and make sure you have windows xp. :-)

that is just one of the many many combinations that work, but that's the only one I have found to work on all my computers all the time.

so i don't know what works and why, i was just lucky to find one combo that works, and the video here shows how to make it work -- that's all i know.

p.s. might work with Vista as well, haven't tried.

  • mine wiimote dont stop blinking

    what should i do?

  • once you connect the wiimotes to your PC, you can run a wii application you want which will then start talking to the wiimotes. then they'll stop blinking.

  • OOOOO OK thanks

  • hey where do i go to download bluetooth to my pc cause i dnt have it could u send me the link thnk u

  • you are a totally computer illiterate.... Learn something before commenting about stuff you have no idea about.

  • I believe he can find it from the same website he got his C:\ Drive from.

  • my one when i connect it it connects properly using BlueSoleil but when i try to run a program like wii whiteboard, desktopVR or glove pie it doesnt work and says wiimote not found or HID not found so i cant use it help me please i am using windows vista ultimate

  • I had a Trendnet dongle with BlueSoleil and had the same problem, solved when I switched to the no-name bluetooth from Sparkfun and Widcomm stack (that comes with the Sparkfun dongle), the one I show in the video.

Not saying that Blue Soleil is not good, it's probably the dongle + BS combo that didn't work for me.

  • My wiimote wont stop blinking

  • Mine often blinks too after connecting, until I run a program that actually uses it (like Miilkdrop or wiiuse-example.exe)

  • does it work for windows 98 too?

    nice tutuorial,verry good .

  • thanks! don't know if bluetooth for wiimote works on Win 98, all the articles talk about win xp or vista.

  • ok thank you. thats all i need to know.
