I think all my "comments" have been dropped off, so I'm starting all over....so here it goes....I love Buddy Guy. He is the best Blues guitarist in the world.....and a hell of a performer....can't say enough of the man....
dang,B.B. King standing up and playing.I dont like videos like this. They are trying to not step on each others toes. They're BOTH holding back.B.B. is the shit, but Buddy, when he was still that young, there wasnt noone keeping up with him.
"I can't quit you baby, but I do believe I've got to put you down for a little while." Tell me what man has not thought that thought at one time or another.
I was in Memphis on business and decided to go to BB Kings to listen to some music and eat some killer ribs. They had a ban playing who had a female vocalist and I wisj I could remember her name but she tore it up. Anyway, out no where comes BB King. Man, I was sitting 4 feet from this guy and he was killing IT!
@un4given4 The point was in B.B.'s quote, B.B. King has a Bluesy Spirit and he feels it just like Stevie,Buddy Guy, John Lee Hooker and to quote B.B. "Miss Bonnie Raitt is the best slide player; Hands Down"; either you feel the blues or you don't.
bb must be the only man alive i can have full respect for while his wearing a suit like that xD... and buddy is just trippin balls and being a good showman like always
Buddy Guy has been called the bridge between the blues and rock and roll. He is one of the historic links between Chicago electric blues pioneers Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf and popular musicians like Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page as well as later revivalists like Stevie Ray Vaughan. Vaughan stated that, "Without Buddy Guy, there would be no Stevie Ray Vaughan."
@doogwoody do u know who Jenkem is, huh pussy? well let me tell ya who he is, just a friend who gets kicked off every other week, so ask me if i fuckin' care, NO! @tj4y9 <----This stupid fuck has to be 13 or 14 to make this type of absurd comment. This retarded fuck is the type of fool that prefers "walmart cola" to COKE.
Sure, everyone has the blues, but as a genre blues has traditionally been very much a black style of music. For this we should be THANKFUL, not feel the need to become competitive or jealous (coming from a white man). Robert Johnson, Son House, Howin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Elmore James, Willie Dixon, B.B. King, Buddy Guy - these guys made the blues. Thank God also for SRV, Clapton, The Rolling Stones & Rory Gallagher.
blues isnt about being black or white. I went to a B.B. King concert in cleveland and it was by far the most diverse audience i've ever seen. There were blacks and whites, younger and older people, rich and middle class. its good f#ckin music and you dont need to be a certain race to play or enjoy the blues
@demonbut Elvis had a whole style of his own he could sing any genre of music he didnt steal anything and just because he is white doesnt mean he cannot sing the blues anybody can because everyone has the blues the other guys you mentioned should not even be in the same sentence as Elvis the ONLY other artist comparable is BB King because of the number of hits they both had, and plus they both jump started all genre of music. The only thing you need is King Of Rock & Roll and King Of The Blues.
All you morons arguing with racist undertones are morons. Music is universal. Appreciate this for its greatness. 30 people have no idea what music is, btw.
who gives a flying fuck who invented what or who started what? fact is BB King and Buddy Guy are fucking legends and this video is fucking classic thats all there is to it. dont classify zep and these guys together cause its not fair to either. totally different styles, both are epic, end of story
@NAMTRIP You are a total fucking idiot! Being racist is bad enough, but your musical ignorance is astounding! I've seen Led Zep in concert. I've also seen Buddy Guy & BB King, & can tell you flat out that as great as Jimmy Page is, Buddy will blow him off the stage.
White's did not invent the blues, perhaps doing some actual reading, (I know it's hard, but you can move your lips if you need to), about the subject would be helpful in correcting your lack of knowledge on this.
@NAMTRIP well the white slave masters did take the Africans' native instruments away to completely strip them of their identity. All they were left with was their voices, using their chests as percussion for while...then moved to sticking bottle caps to the bottom of their shoe heels and playing old beat up instruments that were discarded by the ruling class. I've got love for all but with the exception of a few, every form of music/dance in the States has African roots.
These guys are the reason why we have Zep .... Hendrix was a huge fan of the blues, especially Buddy Guy... - Hence all the Hendrix stuff Buddy plays. Rock was just sped up blues with more overdriven amps. Ask any guitarist who their influences were...Sooner or later it all goes back to Robert Johnson. Johnson lead to Elmore James - the guy who innovated the whole "Amplified guitar" sound. - Full circle. In the end... Enjoy music, listen to things outside your tastes. You'll be surprised.
@bvdon this isn't a led zeppelin a led zeppelin song, it belongs to no one, and it belongs to everyone. it's a public domain blues song, like long tall sally, c'mon everybody, and somethin' else. make sense?
@jamesscott1015 Not really... It was written by Willie Dixon, but originally performed by Otis Rush. C'mon, I bet even a 1 minute google search coulda told you that
Unfortuneately there are a lot of stupiditos around, some of them hopping and two for a pound, dollar and a half if that's your sound, the idea that Z Grepplin can compost with this, i dunno think yo so.
@theSodMonster i dont think yall met the right black people, we taught pretty much everything we created, where do u think justin timberlake justin bieber and so many more get their swag from
@jnotheman don't get me wrong, led zeppelin are my favourite band ever. and eric clapton was cool until he left cream. but they aren't as good at playing blues as the true blues masters. rock on the other hand, they'll murder any "shredders" of today cause shredding is boring after like 20 seconds
@dragonkin9 and white people invented the blues, unintentionally. but if "the white man" hadn't enslaved loads of african people and taken them over to american so they could be all sad and play blues who knows what we'd be listening to now
uh actually as bad as enslaving them was, it wasn't the white man that enslaved them over there and brought them here, they were sold to the whites to be enslaved hence they were already enslaved. That being said whether you're the seller or buyer you're still horrible excuse for a human.
@theSodMonster blues is not just sad music, budd. It's any and every human emotion...the 'sad music' bit is something that the mainstream media like to push on us, cuz that's how branding works. Commercialism is about shit that sells.
how can someone dislike this song... get a life people!

@Dai3eb yes actually, you do. all you've said in your comments is guitarists names. you haven't said why you wasted your time typing them

@theSodMonster black ppl invented rock too lol. rediculously ironic!
dragonkin9 1 year ago
@dragonkin9 and white people invented the blues, unintentionally. but if "the white man" hadn't enslaved loads of african people and taken them over to american so they could be all sad and play blues who knows what we'd be listening to now
theSodMonster 1 year ago
@theSodMonster
uh actually as bad as enslaving them was, it wasn't the white man that enslaved them over there and brought them here, they were sold to the whites to be enslaved hence they were already enslaved.
