The clubfoot stock sends the recoil and straight down the stock where as a regular ak style stock brings the recoil down causing the muzzle to rise..im prolly going to go with a mako ar style stock foregrip and pistol grip I just got mine the other day and it is very accurate I love it
@more100than100 Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Glad you like it. I will be doing some videos soon on the ATI line of stocks, foregrips, grips, etc coming soon. Decent stuff for the money.
@FletchBZMMT AWESOME GUN MAN! AWESOME GUN! Racked 20 rounds through it and NOTHING went wrong! Luv it! Thinkin about the wood kit for it though.. Would you recommend them or stick to the plastic? I see what you mean by the function of the plastic one.. HARDLY ANY RECOIL!
@lestat780 Myself I'd prefer the plastic as it allows for future upgrades as finances allow... Such as light, laser, or you know whatever makes you happy to have on your rifle. Wood is great as well, but there are no picatinny rails on it etc. So it's up to you really. Personally I'm not a "purest", and I have no problem what-so-ever "tac-ing" out an AKM etc... Congrats!
@FletchBZMMT I don't mean to clog your stuff up with comments man, but I have searched all over youtube and I can't find a "How to bumfire an ak47" anywhere... Just sayin... Idea for a new video? LOL! I would appreciate that sooooo much! N you would be the best teacher ever!
@Mr683465 Personally I don't know who/what originated the "club foot stock", but it is very functional on the weapon. Thanks for commenting ans watching.
@FletchBZMMT I agree. I've wanted an AK for a while now, sadly they all feel to short when I shoulder them. When I picked this IO up the other day it just shouldered nicely and fit comfortably. $539, I'm thinking about picking it up
Been eyeing an arsenal for a while now and saw gunblast.com's review on this one, they are priced about 200 dollars less than the arsenals. seams like this might be the better way to go
@flexx1987 Arsenal deff. makes a good product, but as you mentioned you are also now paying for their name. (as you probably will for I.O.'s soon) Also, there are several vids here on YT showing how that Arsenals are NOT truly compatible with other AK's. i.e. You can't take the bolt group etc out of a WASR or Yugo and put in your Arsenal. To the best of my knowledge I.O. are as they are based on a WASR with almost all American Made parts now. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@choopdewoot Any decent built AK is still an AK right? IMO better than a WASR but a WASR is still an AK and great MBR. I.O. is also American Made etc. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@choopdewoot Thanks much appreciated. I would like to buy another one before the prices go up again. LoL I.O.'s already go for over $100 more than what I paid for mine. I need to buy an AR-15 though.... I'd still choose my AK over an AR, but I'd like to have one if for no other reason than it fires .223/5.56 etc. Mini 14 is decent option but by the time one "tacs" it out, you are at an entry level AR-15 anyways... lol Thanks again.
@FletchBZMMT i like the mini 14. for me all i really require is a pistol grip and adjustable stock to be happy. im not going to invest in red dots or anything i like irons.
the ak's that i see on the market are fine to me in their basic form. dont care about adding extra tactical anything to it. what i care about is the condition of the product and wether or not its going to explode on me lol
I called I.O about the mag wobble and explained that the mag was wobbly but functional....they sent me TWO new mags out - got them the next day. Great customer service.
I shot another 300 or so thru it...it just gobbled up Steel case Walmart TUL and some yugoslavia bulk brass....LOVE this AK.
@pfiberoptik Thanks for sharing glad you like it. I see that RoyalTigerImports is not selling the AK mags I recommended at as well. The European surplus metal mags... good prices as well.
@FletchBZMMT I went to aimsurplus~com that you mentioned in the vid and ordered a couple of the steel surplus (Romanian?) mags for $9.99 each. They fit and work great and were in great condition. They also had a GREAT deal on Yugo brass 7.62....wonderful ammo too BTW. Thanks for the resources in your vid to aimsurplus!!
i'm looking into a buying one and i just had a few questions for you if you don't mind; how is the accuracy? do you feel it was a worthy purchase? how well do other magazines function with the IO? will the IO readily fit other ak furniture?
@Natsinco There is footage of me shooting from a bench rest on my channel, very happy with the accuracy. Yes, I feel it's a good value, especially since I got mine before they went up! I answered the magazine question in great deal in the video. Haven't tried changing out the furniture, so I can't give you a "first hand" account of that. Although, I see no reason why that would be an issue.
Fletch, thanks again for your review. I received my rifle yesterday and am VERY pleased. Your review was instrumental in helping me make my purchase of an AK.
His review of this rifle is spot-on in case anyone was wondering if he did some candy-ass review for some freebies or something,
As fletch reported....the supplied mag SUCKS. Mine has 3/4" of L/R movement. Plan on ordering some surplus steel mags if you purchase this gun. Other than that, sweet gun and great value. Shot abt 60 rnds.
Can you use a regular AK 47 mag on th IOak? Does it feed properly or do you have to use IO mags for the rifle? I ask because I put a IO AK on lay away and need to know so I can start buying mags... :~}
how do these compare to the Arsenal AKs? I have heard from a lot of people that Arsenals are the best AKs but are more expensive. What is the general consensus on the IOs?
@shtfgear IMO the one I have isn't up to par with Arsenal AK's. However, it didn't cost anywhere near what an Arsenal does either. Mine has performed flawlessly since day one. I think Cpt. Beerz, Matt @ Neverenoughammo and SaurOfraut have all owned them and done reviews of them as well. Some liked it, some didn't. From issues like the cleaning rod not fitting back in once removed etc. That being said, an Arsenal is not truly compatible with "standard" AK's either. I.O.'s when I bout mine were.
@shtfgear not completely US made as stated in the vid. So, the bolt, bolt carrier group, gas block etc were/are Romanian and are completely compatible. However I believe they are much closer now, but I haven't bought a brand new one to see etc. Mine is also pretty damn accurate for an AK as well. Hope that helps!
Can you comment more on the bayonet mount. I am also interested in knowing how it would attach and if it would need to be a certain type. Thanks for the videos!
@nathanbradin It's a standard AK47 bayonet lug. Royaltigerimports sells them for like 10 bones as well as cheaperthandirt etc. I'll see If I can't get a vid made for it for you.
Thanks for the review i been wanting assualt type rifle and will get one this year. i thought ak because u can one so cheap but i want an ak close to mil spec i can get. i was wondering if your ak has a bullet guide. thats one reason alot of ak wont feed well and are not mil spec. and most ak u buy dont have that. just write on your page here im kinda new to youtube. again thanks god bless.
