  • why ban the swastika on old planes like this and in public these are planes that made history an killed many allied pilots

  • Herb Tischler tried to construct 6 Me-262. What happend with them?

  • @Hickmaann90

Tischler and his team at the Texas Airplane Factory did much of the work and reverse-engineering with the original Navy Me262 pattern aircraft from 1993 to 1997. There was a dispute between Tischler's company and the project sponsor, Classic Fighter Industries, so CFI took over the project and completed the 5 new examples in Seattle and returned the restored original to the Navy. The work is done and all aircraft have been sold.

  • @Hickmaann90

Oh, and the Me262 above is #2 of the new-build examples. It can be converted between a single-place cockpit to a dual-place cockpit by changing a few parts.

  • I was made to understand that the engines in this restored ME-262 are not the origional ones. They are modern jet engines that were installed to make the plane both legal to fly and safer. I wonder are there any ME-262's left that are operational with all the origional parts intact.

  • @starguard

Correct, modern engines, although this is one of five new-build examples and not a restored original. As to the second question, no, but an original is under restoration for flight with upgraded original engines. Whether this project will succeed is unknown.

  • I agree! Those planes should still have the swastika on the tail-fin even though it's forbidden 'cause it's part of history

  • I love seeing these aircraft fly, It is good to see them rescued from the confines of grainy Black and white video. I heard they only built a handful of them from original jigs. It was not only a historic aircraft but a very beautiful looking one as well. Can't say it enough, love seeing these aircraft doing what they were designed to do. Fly.

  • I'm sick to f**king death hearing about 'Allied War Heros'.!!!!!!!

But the guys that went up against this in 1944, were !

  • These must be fake, there is no swastika.

  • I know the swastika has nightmarish implications for some but i do agree with some here in the interest of historical accuracy it should be on the planes.

  • @oliver69cork But then they wouldnt even fly because they dont use the old engine, and i am sure there are other things that were replicated, but are not historically correct.

  • das ist BAD ASS!

  • Was that plane @0:18 the bf 109?..or was it the FW 190?

  • @DAMIENloh1970 Bf 109.

  • Schönes Video. Danke.

  • Learjet engines CJ610 sound good on the Me-262 !

  • To see these classic planes without the swastika on the tail-fin to me seems wrong. These planes made history. Should we hide history because some people feel that a symbol is bad. No, the war is over it ended 60 years ago Europe today is a close community lets keep it close and work together as friends and partners

  • @ronaldrobin

showing swastika in public is forbidden by law in germany. You can even get sued just by whistling the melody of the "Horst Wessel Song"....

  • @nogocologne

The thoughts are free in Germany.:-))

But since they worked for 80 years on it.:-))

  • @nogocologne isnt that sad?? I mean we have nothing to do with the war, my parents have niothing to do with the war only my grandfather and grand mother did. so who the hell cares that we in this generation arent allowed to do it. I even had a long talk with my neighbour who is a surviver from ausschwitz and he also says its stupid to completly wipe out the past, as if germany is to ashamed

  • @OCBsebastian Well, nobody is telling the current generation of Germans that they should be ashamed of themselves--but the Nazi past is shameful and that will never change. It's the same with the issue of slavery in the U.S.--I wasn't around for it, but I have to acknowledge that it was a shameful period in our history. Don't be such a cry-baby. It could be worse--you're lucky you're alive now and not in, say, 1943, freezing to death in Stalingrad.

  • @nogocologne Who walks around with the urge to whistle the Horst Wessel song?

  • @pontifexish .Sped up and played as a fast dance in local German club.Very catchy tunen but i prefer to whistle/hum "Ade Polenland" while wargaming.

  • @nogocologne That means that there is no real freedom of speech in germany.

  • @jocking3

no there is not. It is "simulation" of free speech.

  • @jocking3 There is absolutely no freedom of speech in Germany. A paradox in a supposedly first world country, but not because of the german people, but because of the jews who rule nowadays the world.

  • @jocking3 There is none in the netherlands either.

  • @nogocologne

What if someone is Hindu, they can't display the swatzika either under German Law??

  • @agumon12

strictly speaking Hindus are allowed to show/wear the swastika but ONLY in context of a religious gathering/celebration.

On the other side a coin dealer who wants to sell coins from 3rd Reich era is not allowed to show the coins in public...

  • @nogocologne I was in a hobby shop in Augsburg Germany a few years back- I saw models in a display case that had tape covering the tails of the German planes. I asked the young gentlemen "why the tape" and he told me... "the symbol is forbidden by law in Germany". I told him "Not in the USA" and he seemed very surprised. I explained to him the German aircraft on display at the USAF Museum have the symbol- he was very shocked (he actually seemed pleased history wasn't being hidden)!

  • @nogocologne Well, that sucks major.

  • @ronaldrobin What a pity that discrimination of that sort is still practised today. To deny the use of the swastika on the tail of a plane just seems foolish and hard. I was born during an air raid by the German Luftwaffe but as you can see I survived. I have a great deal of respect for the German pilots and soldiers and have the autographs of three German air aces two of them on drawings of an ME 109. and one an ME262 pilot. I have no hatred of what took place as it was history.

  • @ronaldrobin The war isn´t over. There´s no peace treaty. That´s why.

  • @ronaldrobin Oh, come on--the crosses aren't enough for you? You need to see the swatika? Grow up.

  • thats because of the cry-baby jews that just need to fade away.6-million dont think so there werent even that many of the bastards in eroupe they just like to spread their zionist propaganda and cry over nothing.

  • @ronaldrobin The swastika isn't just a political symbol of the past. It is nearly as old as humanity and is very powerful. For this reason the use of it is not allowed in germany and you can get up to 5 yr jail.

  • @Gruenkreuz100 I was born in England during WWll at a time when the Luftwaffe was bombing us, yet I never heard any talk of hate toward them from my family. I just think its a shame that some nations just want to keep reminding Germany of its past. The war is over it ended 60 odd years ago and is history. We cant change history but we can learn from it. When ever I see old photographs or German soldiers I always say to myself that I hope they made it home safely after the war .

  • @ronaldrobin I agree 100% The history of the jet is the important issue and yes the Swastika is part of that history.

  • @ronaldrobin Fuckin' hypocrites. In America you can just walk around in nazi uniform and nazi banners.... Same as in WW2 games, where the swastika is replaced by crosses.... It's not the same. Swastika's now!

  • Get a tripod.

  • @MrRammsteinKicksAss

  • Wunderbar! I built models of these planes as a kid.

  • Eccelente!
