Anti-World Bank/IMF Protest: Washington DC (1/2)

Loans are granted to Pakistan but are not monitored/audited to see the completion of the project they are sanctioned for. Pakistani ruling class & govt departments eventually eat up the entire sum. Are these loans granted to promote hypocrisy, gradually leading to fake inflation, injustice & poverty? The end result nowadays is reaction in the form of suicide bombing & destruction due to the problems mentioned. Kalabagh Dam & many projects are just a dream due to this attitude of IMF & World Bank

I s'pose he thinks freedom means the opportunity to make meaningful choices, which necessitates the prerequisite of being educated, kept alive, and able to effect change in one's daily life, even if you aren't born rich or privileged.

As someone with mostly liberal views, I would have to agree with you about the whine factor. You don't yell at a cop who is trying to rationally communicate with you. Especially when taking the peaceful protester stance. It makes people who would be otherwise sympathetic to your cause become less sympathetic, and you achieve nothing. It's divisive and petty.

I disagree with annscan. These people are not whiny cowards, but rather are people who have a moticum of compassion and very naturally get upset.

As someone whose relative is being viciously attacked by the IMF, it is very reassuring to see that there still are people out there who do care and not just the blaze (i suppose you would refer to that as brave), frankly evil bureaucrats she has been dealing with.

now do some home work, look up some other protest like the one in Canada not to long ago, A few police officers were dressed in black and hiding there faces the protesters there busted them saying show your face, your cops, and they went to the police side, and were nicely cuffed and walked away, they had the same boots on as the Police there all of them, And later were brought to court over it, police suck sometimes, you cant trust no one anymore.
