its not sequel, different story. i saw both of them back to back when i was a kid, it took a few years to really appreciate rumble fish, its a masterpiece.

He is in shock and sees everything how his brother motorcycle boy sees and views the outside world. He never knew alot about him because he was sort of mysterious and I think that moment is when he finally understood his brother.

@Redrush111 It's supposed to mean his point of enlightenment because throughout the whole movie he was seeing it in "color" but really black and white and didn't understand it but in becoming "colorblind" he see's the world for what it really is
