I just wanted to pay respect to user Wolfshead2, who put together a perfect -- given the nature of the song -- set of images.
On JJ's album, Rain, the song that follows this one is "Rush Across the Road". It sounds quite uplifting on the surface, but deep down, I think, it's a meditation on how we often have only a split-second opportunity to decide to connect/re-connect with someone. User frankierocks1000 put it really well in his comments.
Thing is we ALL need hugs but loads of people don't get it and so want to leave this planet, and I mean PERMANENTLY. So go smile at someone you see alone in a bar or the street. Give even a tiny bit of love and you will be MEGA amazed at the love you get. GO ON SMILE AT SOMEONE YOU DON@T KNOW - you can do it! x x x
I'm not much on videos but this piece is so powerful (as it was at the Charlotte NC show in 11/08) and very emotionally moving that it works in a wierd way. I can't wait to see Joe live again.

one must wonder if this is a commentary on his current emotional state... bereft of any connection to others....so bleak and painful
