I love this film, but especially the scenes between Javier Bardem and Penèlope Cruz..they seemed totally believable to me...no wonder they're married in real-life!
This movie is shit! Brainless dialogues,too much yellow in it,aaand brainless dialogues!Only Maria Elena´s part was interesting,just because Penelope Cruz did a grat job.With another actress her part probably would have looked as crappy as the rest of the film!

Woody Allen movies basically suck.esp. Sleeper. He maintains our interest with great background locations, Barcelona, Paris etc. A lonely planet travelogue wastes less time.
There IS a point to this movie. It isnt like Eat Pray Love or A feel Good movie or anything like that. Woody Allen is a genius and the point to this movie was that people in theory behave like they want to change their lives and want to be different but in the end they never have the guts to do it.
I mean, these 2 girls got a trip of a lifetime, they met beautiful and talented people and experienced love, lust, and adventure but in the end they were ungrateful.

I really don't understand what made people love this movie. I won't spoil the ending but it was good until then. By the time the movie ends, the whole thing felt pointless.
@StikWitClassics I think the movie was not meant to have a point, it was just about enjoying every moment as it comes, if you paid attention to art, music, food and wine, even sex, everything is about the pleasure of the senses. The movie is just a moment in their lives, an experience, it didn't need to have that "and they lived happily forever after" label. Sometimes it's raw but very realistic too! When it comes to me, that's what I enjoyed the most about it ;)

Loved this movie! I spent 30 minutes searching for this movie online to watch. I finally was able to watch the whole movie for free in high quality. Just Google (y-slides) and the site should come up first result. (y-slides) is where I watched it and didn't have any problems at all. Was this movie made to promote Barcelona? No way! Barcelona is one of the famous cities in the world, why would they promote it with such a movie as Vicky Cristina Barcelona. This movie was to reveal the neurotic love like that of Maria, she has neurosis, because her way of expressing love in a scandalous, disrespectful and public embarrassment is too way sick. Love is respect, without respect there can't be true love. I have seen people in love behaving la Maria, this movie answered my doubts.

No real Barcelona citizens, mixed cultures, catalan culture... I dont know where in Spain you are from, but I was born in Barcelona, I´ve lived here for all my life, in the ancient area and I felt no Barcelona scent at anytime during the film.

Loved this movie! I spent 30 minutes searching for this movie online to watch. I finally was able to watch the whole movie for free in high quality. Just Google (y-slides) and the site should come up first result. (y-slides) is where I watched it and didn't have any problems at all. I would put the website address here, but I don't want my youtube account to get in trouble for spam. LOL

Was this movie made to promote Barcelona? No way! Barcelona is one of the famous cities in the world, why would they promote it with such a movie as Vicky Cristina Barcelona. This movie was to reveal the neurotic love like that of Maria, she has neurosis, because her way of expressing love in a scandalous, disrespectful and public embarrassment is too way sick. Love is respect, without respect there can't be true love. I have seen people in love behaving la Maria, this movie answered my doubts.

@Gordacas That supposed "arty" way of life in Barcelona. Empty streets, bi ghouses on the hill, some protected buildings used as real homes and that high class surrondings and people you could see. No real Barcelona citizens, mixed cultures, catalan culture... I dont know where in Spain you are from, but I was born in Barcelona, I´ve lived here for all my life, in the ancient area and I felt no Barcelona scent at anytime during the film.
