I have listen to it .. on a bus on radio .. few years ago .. and by a piece of chance I found in on a electronic music forum .. yeah weird .. the paths of God ..
The song .. like then .. like now .. it's a optimistic journey .. it motivates You to do the good things .. like I don't know .. LOVE ..
I don't care what anyone says, I miss the days of r n b electro soul and trance. PM Dawn, Soul 2 Soul, Del la Soul, SWV, Arrested Development, even Outkast in their early days, I love it all, can't get enough of this blissed out shit. I wish they still did it now to the same degree they did in the early nineties. But it won't because ghetto rap has taken over. Don't get me wrong, a lot of great nineties to early noughties stuff, but its getting old and the main players these days are rubbish.
dam i was born one year later but the first time i listen this song i was like i think i've
heard this. one day i ask my mom about the song and she was like dam how could u know this song. she told me this is her favorite song. so now i know when i heard this in my mother belly .LMFAOOOOOOOOO
I heard this song when I was 8, my aunt bought me a hip-hop oldies CD this was on it and I listened to it only a thousand times, I lost the CD I'm 13 now and when I was 12 I was so pissed off that I couldn't find it, I'd searched for 4 years and I had NO idea what the words were, I can't remember what I typed in in the search box, but I found it, long story short, I fucking love this song. Thank god I found it!
there are a lot of threads of meaning in this song...and I really understand this song because I've thought the same as the author of this song. Sometimes we set out just to have a fling/hookup and the other person thinks the same thing about us, we think that the other person will fall for us, but we are immune. life isn't that simple though and sometime those people haunt us. We wonder what could've been if we hadn't been so purposedly closehearted...
What's he saying about the girl with the ring finger on her hand and he had to throw her right back with the rest? What's that part of the story about?
esta cancion es un clasico de los principios de los 90 ...un muy buen tema q tan solo escucharla uno simplemente RETROCEDE A SU ENTRADA DE adolecente.
I love Spandau Ballet's True but PM Dawn puts Spandau Ballet's version to shame; that's why Tony Hadley (lead singer of Spandau Ballet) is swanning around in PM Dawn's video!
i was a several months old when this came out.. back then, as a baby i had no worries, and when i listen to this song now, all the troubles are put aside for at least 4 minutes..
baby you sent me baby you sent me never fgets old and that beachy tune to it perfect i know im only 15 but my music now has no meaning to it i wish i grew up in the
I have always enjoyed this song, but I wish they would have done a acoustic performance. The sampling I understand, rap wouldn't exist without it. Piano and vocals would be amazing...
Ok ok, I used to make fun of this when I was in junior high going into my freshman year of high school... I'm officially on the "bring that back bus."
hey man you did such an awesome job on this. Don't know how to remaster this stuff but wld love it if some1 wld do it to "ways of the wind" by pm dawn. loved that cd 'the abyss'
I had always felt so alone in loving these talented men, I'm so glad to finally find others who not only know who they are but love them too. God they sound as good as I remember.
Takes me right back to the summer of '91 whenever I hear this. Still one of the best ever samples. I'd completely forgotten that Tony Hadley actually appears in this video..!
Can't believe this song is almost 20 years old, DAMMIT TIME FLYS!! So sick of dumb people nowadays, all they listen too is Trey Songz, Lil Wayne, Ms Keri, Lady O Gaga, all that CRAP with nonsence which reason WHY PEOPLE ARE COCKY AND MEAN Today. This is Real Music. Feel Me??
i love how these guys used Spandau Ballets part of TRUE. often confused for being Tears for Fears. The were way ahead of their time with the sampling part, now adays artists use sampled parts of older songs to try to make their lack of talent seem better. PM Dawn was great even if for one hit!
this song & few othrs i'll allways love . man i've been lookn 4 ths othr 90's song (ths is gonna sound spastic) the chours the girls sing goes "i like it.... ohh i like iit, the rapper has a real low voice thts all i can remember. i just got the song in my head
A True Gem!!! ... My life was set on these type of songs... songs that weaved the soundtrack of my life! Growing up in the 90's in the hood sitting on the stoop. These jams were the best and all the hope a kid had.
I miss the 90's terribly. I set adrift a memory bliss of my life on these songs.
@cyborgx333 i know what u mean kanye west is the biggest knob...but this is just more than about the beat..this song is just pure chilled it's awesome...another great song that stole an amazing beat swv 'right here'...but such a tune
It´s pretty much oldschool (1988)... Nothing 'these days', and back in those days afaik all rap/hip-hop used samples of other songs, it's pretty much how 'modern' hip-hop got started.
But these days, mainstream music... Mostly sucks indeed when sampling, I hate most of it already anyway lol.
@ntothab@cyborgx333 New look of old thinks makes u feel better, don`t you? I like how this song sounds, more then original version! It`s too hard to make something new these days... Same with style, style goes around all the time, cause there is nothing left to make new, except of silly looking dresses ! Same in music. Some times i`d like to change some notes or lyrics by my self in some tracks, just because it`s doesn`t sounds perfect for me ! Somes doing it great, like these guys...
The chorus, the voices and the final touch with the Spandau Ballet cameo at the end and that pose Laurel&Hardy style, deserve all the video. Beautiful!
Again another great song from this group...What ever happened to this kind of talent? Today's music is so superficial and transparent it's all about being a gansta or a thug...It's a shame that kind of music is popular with the kids of today...I'm glad I lived and enjoyed these kinds of music in my life...Thanks PM Dawn....
Gangsta rap been around since the late 80s, where have you been? There is still music like this, but I bet you don't look as hard as you may have in past years. Radio is garbage, and for the most part always has been (esp. since 2000+). Popular music (Hip Pop) is in because that's what people want...no substance, just ME ME ME and look what I've got. =(
love this! brings back the good times when life was simpler........

I hear you man. This is great music, and all about lyrical meaning and good times. I can't even stand to listen to the radio nowadays.
