I love that sound, but this awesome car makes me think. It has the engine of a muscle car but the shape of an exotic car so what do you guys think? Muscle or Exotic? BTW I'm a massive ford fan. Supported ford all my life no way I'm looking at that GM Shit! Ford is the way to go FORD FOREVER!

First new sports car I will buy right here.

Had a Beautiful BMW M6 from 1978, 300hp on a Straight-6, individual throttle bodies, bad ass inside and out. Also had the 82 SL500. I liked the BMW Better, even though the Benz was a V8. And a few others not close to how nice those are.

But this car here catches my eyes, ear, and driving it is even more exhilarating than the Z06. It even handles better on the stock tires, which are $750 a pop on Tirerack.

Awesome sound of crossplane crank, but in DOHC ''high rev'' engine sounds even better than fuckin' pushrods :)), great engineering, and great car.

@130starfish no idea, but i would guess since my unsupercharged 5.4 raptor gets about 12mpg the gt would do the same if you dont get in it too much. and thats also the epa rating of the gt

I'm gonna guess 9 miles to the US gallon. maybe 10. i wonder how much HP that supercharger takes just to run it.

@130starfish its a Whipple unit. good schargers have bypass vales so when you arent in it, it doesnt use any more fuel than it would n/a. but who cares, its a ford gt if you can afford one but dont want to pay for gas or be seen in a supercar buy a prius like all the others

Just curious, I think I'd rather go for one of those Superformance GT40's maybe a 7 liter with those 4 48's on it ,something close to the original. And I dont like prius's even though I'm an ENVE. they just are useless to drive. I'm probably going to buy a 246 dino, or maybe an old 328

@130starfish superchargers dont actually use any fues, al they do is pump air into the engine : p i think (without looking it up) the stock unit is pushing 8-9 psi of boost. the parasitic loss of a scharger on such a low revving v8 is probably very very low about 2 percent

You arent going to get 20mpg out of a gt, the f150 raptor has similar/same numbers but mine gets 12mpg how do you twin turbo a ford gt and hypermile it? hes doin it wrong! lemme show him how its done, first, 2nd, third........ theres 140, cruising speed

I drive a Crown Victoria that weighs over 4000 pounds and can get over 25 mpg on cruising on the highway. Just because you own a car like a Ford GT doesn't mean you have to lead foot it all the time. Getting 20+ mpg at a constant speed on the highway should be pretty easy in a car so aerodynamic.

The old GT40 was built by the british FORD (Henry Ford orderd them to do so to revenge Enzo Ferrari for pulling out of a deal)

The only American thing is the engine in this car, and the place where its made at. Other than that its european.

Correct...Eric Broadley, Roy Lunn, and John Wyer. All british engineers. And if you read the history you'd find they were actually built in a specially designed factory called Ford Advanced Vehicles in Slough, England. American engine and American drive-train was used.

Also, this video has the new one, doesn't it? Not the '64 Mk 1 GT40 when it was first assembled. The 2005 model start the build process in Ohio, and are finished in Michigan, with parts from many different manufacturers.

Now they all use different heads, cams, crank, oil system (dry and wet). Do you really believe Ford would put the exact same engine from a $150k super car into Mustang, pickup truck, and a van?
