  • Gosh... I was so young when they split and I remember clearly that it was the worst day of my life at the time... and now these images are still giving me shivers down my spine....

  • The fact that Nigel didn't know about Howard just shows how much he cared.

Thank goodness Dougie never went through with it! :) xx

  • Jesus Christ. A lot of bitterness going on here.

  • ROBBIE WILLIAMS IS THE BEST SINGER EVER

  • The scenes of the inconsolable fans after they announced their split is both the most sad and hilarious thing I've ever seen.

  • Robbie comes across really badly in this documentary. I wouldn't have welcomed him back with open arms if he'd said all those things about me. Still, I'm going to see the 5-piece TT next summer!

  • I can't stop watching this documentary it is so great I have watched the whole documentary 3 times

  • i think gary probably played the biggest part in their success as he wrote the songs nigel was only the manager

  • dont be tight on rob cos he is still friends with them and i hope rob gets back in the band so it will be a happy ending for everyone

  • I love the relationship between robbie and nigel, lol

  • Love nigel

  • Actually I do think that there is no "Robbie" for " Take That" anymore.

They do not need him for any reason.

  • BTW..the white guy is Johnny Depps Bodyguard has been for 10 years now I think !

  • trashcandyy, totally agree with ya. robbie is BAD for take that. they have done an amazing job without him, with the reunion and how they have comback so strong and have grown so much. please let robbie NOT rejoin them! they are perfectly awesome without him

  • I dont judge Robbie or anyone else of the guys because I really dont know them personally...

Only what I have heard or read....

  • julyrw hmm lets c, had 2 fast selling tours, one in which they played to 80 thousand people, had lots of very successful singles n are now just as popular as they were years ago ,thats what take that have done recently , i do love robbie but what a silly comment to make!!!

  • Aha, very silly

Theyre even bigger this time round (:

    No one wants Robbie anymore

  • ROB, YOU WERE, ARE AND WILL BE THE BEST... NO DOUBT ABOUT IT.

look what he has done by himself..

55 million albums sold around the world

    3 guiness records

    11 brit awards

and he also has done 3 knebworths alone.. 725.000 people

oh...and look what take that've done without him..

    mmm WHAT?

  • ROBBIE IS KNOB

Hes always off his face on booze and drugs and probably doesnt even know where he is or what hes saying

Fair dues to the music tho

    Ill grant him that

Hes just not a very nce person tho and if you watch the videos now, theyre a much happier band

Robbie last 2 albums have been flops while Take That have became the biggest british band ever

There are plenty more artists bigger than robbie now So yeah

Theyve done pretty well without him

  • No me gusta que digan que solamente ALGUNOS aportaron en la banda, eso no es cierto, si llegaron donde llegaron fué por el esfuerzo de todos, obviamente no de Nigel, el solo quería dinero.

  • Robbie wanted Nigel to love him ???

A managers job is to make the band a success, not give members of the band a cuddle.

  • no to love him, but to work in peace and not making him miserable!

  • robbie's right nigel is not the reason of his succses, the sucsses of robbie is because allthe peapol that help him to write an because of himself and hif someone of take that is the reason of the succses are olltythe band i mean nigel just peack them because they were good but nigel didnt sing or dance he was just the manager he dindnt broke his head writing songs or learnig dance steps he's totally wrong

  • I know I am probably gonna get slaughtered for saying this but I really don't get why anyone would cry about a band splitting up when there are people with real problems in the world! My boyf sister cried when they split up apparently! I mean I was dissapointed cos I have always liked their music but I wouldn't say it was ruiening my life! How would these girls react to some REAL bad news?!?!

  • If it werent for Gary there wouldnt be TT as he wrote their most popular hits!! Gary should be proud of himself and I think management should be ashamed for not looking after the boys who obviously didnt know how to handle the fame.

  • Go to see Take that Interview (2009), Jason say that Robbie was, for him a heroe, a brave. He was the only one to rebel of the way the band was being treated, perhaps even "used" by managment, despite he was the more youth.

  • 'I only wanted him to love me' ... bollocks Rob ... stop the whining! No-one believes you for a minute. You only wanted teh 80 million AND A PIE!

  • i agree, gary was the reason of all their success. definetly not nigel.

  • i doubt robbie would have been famous without nigel.

but nigel was not the reason for his success.

the two people robbie should thank are Gary Barlow and Guy Chambers.

    end of.

  • @graceowen4 all so right!!a great comment!!

  • i know what robbie means... but i dont agree.

i think howard, robbie, mark and jason mostly owe their succes down to gary, not nigel!

all nigel did was get them recognised. gary was the biggest part of take that 'first time round' as they say, take that in the 90's.

im glad robbies grown up since this interivew

  • tbh if i was old enough to really know the guys back when they were originally around i would've reacted exactly the same as those girls, i love the guys sooo much :) i dread the day when they say they're gunna stop second time round

    x

  • i know, me too.

i try not to think about them ever splitting..

breaking everyones hearts all over again :/

    x

  • poor howard i feel so happy that everything turned out great for him and the boys in the end... look at them now!!!!!

    x

  • Take That Split on year 1996.I was 16years old on that time.Really Sad,they do The Best On The World Industries, they got Good Ingredient for The Band. They are Huge Members,Amazing Music/Video/Tours,Great Stories, Fantastic Character, quite Different from the others Group,Creative,Classic Pose...

Everyone Playing They Part To Be No One Band.

  • i love gaz n jay x

  • I sooooooooo DNT WANT ROBBIE TO JOIN TAKE THAT again.

he's jst a jrug adit. with a bad atadtude.

  • I love Gary and Jason : )

    Offfft

  • my uncles mate lives in robbies mums and dads old house we got a copy of his birth cerificate lol

  • those girls are absolutely pathetic

  • Comment removed

  • Think,R was a rebell@that time, and maybe he still is.He's done what he thought was good for him.He is still looking for his real personality,he doesn't really know, who he is.I think,he needs a woman beside him.He has no goals, apart from his carreer. He needs to fall in love.Love solves all the problems. If ur in love,ur happy.Money doesn't make u happy (sadly)! Hold on rob, find urself and be happy!U deserve it!And i wish the same good stuff for the rest of TT as well!Good 2 have u back!Love ya!!!

  • to the girl who is still upset about the split of take that GROW UP

  • I live down the road from rob's old house!

And stoke ain't a shitty place!

  • i was 10 when Take that split up and yes i had a little cry. lol.

  • what year did they split?

  • 13th february 1996.

  • april 4th , 1995

  • thanks

  • robbie should get over with nigel like the way he does with the boys.

maybe it is something too deep and painful that he still has that grudge..

he should learn to compromise more and find peace with himself.

  • Why should Rob get over Nigel?Even the other boys haven't done it... Any of them like Nigel because he was a horrible person...Only Gaz seems to be more or less fine with Nigel, and it's because he was his fav one...

  • he was always the fav and the other guys are thrown in to back him up.. i never like nigel also. well for rob, considering that its been years after and dont you think that its better for rob just to go "i dont care and lets move on" and prove that he's a better person than nigel..

  • Oh!I didn't inderstand the sense of your comment,sorry...

I though you were criticizing Rob,and in fact you were just giving him an advice... LOL!

Sorry! It's jst that some people here are saying very bad thing abour Rob without having an idea of what being and addict really means, and I'm starting to get tired of nasty comments,'cause I love Rob,and I don't understand that TT fans are upset with him when nowadays they all have a nive relationship, even Gaz and Rob...

    Sorry again!

  • genuinely i prefer gary, however i think rob is a great performer and very talented. despite all the controversy, he deserves his fame..

anyway, thx for the vids.. :)

  • I completley agree.

  • Musical groups never like their managers(usually cause managers only care about making money and not doing what's in the best interest of the artists). However, Robbie wouldn't be known if he hadn't been in TT and then left and went solo. In a way Nigel was a part of Robbie's journey to success. However I think NMS is evil and conniving. He didn't care about the boys one bit. This time around TT has power over their own destiny, and its great to see.

  • Ha ha ha, they've cut Robbie and Nigel's interviews really well, quite humourous the 2 of 'em having a go at each other..

Bit disturbing that Robbie wanted Nigel to be soe kind of father figure... it wasn't like Roobie was an adolescent at that time - he was grown up!

  • I went the same school as Robbie, I live in stoke on shitty trent lol.

  • Nigel is a greedy money making cock sucker!!!

  • i have to agree with that. but that is apparently the real world

  • 13-02-96 was a sad day i was crying when i hared about the silpt i did not want to go school or do anything that day but iam so happy they are back i love take that

  • Nigel must have done something to Rob, because Rob hate him!

    They split 13 Feb, Rob's birthday..casualty?

  • that was the perfect pressent for robbie then!

  • i watch a documentary "the truth about take that" and in the press conference they asked to Gary if they was any message, for being Robbie's birthday and he just said "Really?" as he did'nt know.

Gary hate(d) Robbie because in some songs Rob made lead voice!

all of this was taken from the documentary!!!

  • "The truth about take that" was ironically named as it wasn't accurate at all!!!! as i recall one of the main interviewees was ian levine. he was the writer and producer of "i found heaven" and he was absolutely vile. they all hated him even to the point where they waited untill he went home so that they could sneek into his studio to steel his shit version of "it only takes a minute" and give it to the person who made it the hit it was. that "documentary" was a load of f**king balls!!!!

  • i dont really like robbie but like you have to feel sorry for him!! xxx

  • I do like Robbie in some ways o like the fact in this documentry he hasnt said any negitive stuff about the band and he has grown up alot ...what he said about gary was merely to do with the fact the media made it into this massive thing of GARY VS ROBBIE! however he should not join TT again because hes chosen a different path to the others and it would be more of "TT and Robbie williams" they are fine as they are and so is Robbie ....

  • You're completely right! I do agree with you in everything you said! Thanks for your comment!

  • I do like robbie, but it was his decision to leave take that. So everyone should stop being so horrible, he was under a lot of pressure at the time. But i do think that he should never rejoin take that because they're doing fine without him.

  • I am not realy much of a Robbie (mark will alwayd be my man) But I have the DVD and when you watch the extened interviews Robbie comes across the best of them all. He realy seemed to understand his mistakes and was sincerley sorry, in fact he seemed to concede responsibilty for everything and was very self depricating (I personaly think he was too hard on himself) but when the interviews were spliced up and edited into the doc, he didnt come across too well.

  • I've loved all of Robbie's work post-Take That. While I like Take That too, I think Robbie really came into his own after leaving the band. I don't like how it happened, I think the band and people around Robbie should of been keeping a closer eye on him and recognised he had become depressed and miserable. They handled everything wrong, Gary admitted as much. it was a tragic end to his time in Take That but he went on to become something much better and showed what a fantastic talent he is.

  • Thanks for your comment! I totally agree with you!

  • I LOVE ROBBIE WILLIAMS.

He hasn't done anything so stop being so horrible.

I think you'll find that he si one of the most talented peole that has ever lived and for him to say that he is a good singer isn't big headed because he's more than good.

at least he doesn't walk around feeling sorry for himself all the time.

I love robbie williams and you're all harsh.

    shut up.

  • Hey! Thanks for your comment! I love Robbie too and I don't understand why people here are so disagreeable in their comments...

I know he's not perfect and he said and did wrong things, but anybody is perfect, so... And I can't understand how someone can hate a person the he/she doesn't even know...

    Greetings!

  • Yeah I think the same.

I just don't know how they can have such a strong disliking towards him.

They are loads of robbie videos that people have commented being horrible about him and it really annoys me.

It's just so silly - why comment something just to be horrible?

I love robbie so much :)

    Everyone has made mistakes.

I bet all the people that have been nasty about rob have done worse!

I've had enough of rob abuse!

    I think he's lovely.

    xxx

  • Robbie isn't a bad person, I think. The stress and pressure of being in the band took a toll on his behaviour, eg partying, drinking..etc. Underneath all the bad-boy image, he is just someone who hungers for approval like everyone else. Rob 's apology to the rest of Take That members touched my heart.

  • robbie had sum gd songs den i jus didnt lyk him nemore

  • omg howard wanted to kill himself!!!!!

    :(

    im soo glad he didnt

  • Yeah! Me too...

  • Rob had more hits thann angels. they were good. He is a cocky idiot though. I csant believe the other lads wanteed it to end. Im on Howards side. The fans crying their eyeds out for two weekss is just sad though!

  • robbie needs to get his head out of his arse! lucky for him that guy chambers came along to save his career. Barlow deserves more credit

  • Robbie got lucky twice, once when he was in Take That and two when he issued "Angels" and was able to put the boot in during the media backlash against Barlow. Of course, Barlow himself comments little on this, because he is not as bitter as Williams. Very ironic when you consider it was Barlow was the one who almost had his career ruined!

  • OMG howard wanted to commit suicide =[

    aww

    xx

  • Yes, it's sad... But thanks God he didn't achieve it...

    Cheers!

  • Yeah, according to Wikipedia he actually confessed publicly that he had the genuine intention to drown himself in River Thames after Gary Barlow announced the split back in 1996

  • Thanks for posting. It broke my heart to hear Rob say, 'I only wanted him to love me,' in reference to Nigel. That need to feel acceptance is so strong in some of us, its sad really. Howards thoughts of suicide? OMG. I really hope that Rob is in therapy working out his demons, plus he needs to get sober.

  • Robbie Williams is full of shite. He may think he'd have still made it if he wasn't in Take That, but that is not true. It's easy for the cocky bugger to sit their now and claim it was he would was the talent, but that is certainly not true.

  • The fact is no one has a way of knowing whether or not Rob would have been a solo success without his TT background. Both Nigel and Robbie have made valid points about each other. However, I can see why he would hold a grudge against Nigel who does seem like a bastard but unfortunately, this quality probably helped rather than hindered his success. Case in point-Lou Perlman who was the puppeteer behind the Backstreet Boys Cheers.

  • The fact that Robbie Williams was NOT in the music biz whatsoever until Nigel found him trying (and failing) to start an acting career certainly shows the odds of Robbie not making it without Nigel are greater than him making it without him.

  • I did not follow their careers in the 90s. Here in Canada, neither TT or Robbie solo were on the radar. I became a fan once the 4 reformed without R. He needs to get sober and yes, he needs to get over Nigel. From what I gather, Rob was always the one who never fit in. Looking back at old videos on UTube, I find it amazing that it was Rob and not Gary or Markie who had the mega successful solo career.

  • I never found Mark's solo offerings to be that great, mind you neither am I a huge Robbie fan. I honestly believe that Gary's two solo albums are much finer than anything Robbie has recorded and if the "media war" had not been staged between the two, things may be very different today. Although, this is all water under the bridge in 2007/8 and all the boys have gone on and done fine.

  • Well said. Merry Christmas.

  • Thanks! :)

    Merry Christmas to you too!

  • I live in the US and the opposite happened for me. When I heard "Millenium" I loved Robbie immediately- he has an amazing voice. The only Take That song they played on the radio was "Back for Good" and when someone said "That's the band Robbie Williams was in" that's when I heard of them and ordered their greatest hits and "Nobody else" CDs.

  • Millenium is probably the first video of his that I saw. From a North American perspective, I don't appreciate the fact that us across the pond have to order their CDs. Are they that obscure? apparently. So sad. I can't think of any other groups/artists that are tops in Europe but have never made a dent whatsover in Canada and the US. They are still considered one hit wonders in our countries. Hope you checked out their new vid, sure that MTV won't play it right?
